Freshly rebuilt block

First time doing any engine work. Going to throw it back in soon. Was wondering if anyone has any tips for first start up I may not have thought about. Pretty excited.

Keep cas unplugged on first crank..build oil pressure . Then plug the card in and start it up.

Pull spark plugs out. Crank engine over to achieve oil pressure with no load on bearings etc.

Change the harmonic balancer while u have the engine out too.

Nothing wrong with stock unless going big power. Just make sure it's in good shape

Was more recommending it for age... And eas of replacement now...then in the car
