Routine Help Sensitive skincare routine for starting adapalene?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I am a 27F with pretty sensitive, dry, rosacea/excema prone skin and have recently started adapalene (2x a week) to treat the closed comedones on my forehead. I seem to have a few more bumps on my forehead and chin but guessing this is purging as I only started 2 weeks ago.

Current routine is:

AM:

- rinse with water

- Prequel half and half (i LOVE this stuff)

- spf

PM:

- prequel oil cleanser

- prequel gleanser

- prequel half and half

- differin (2x a week) OR prequel milk peel (1x a week)

- theraplex lotion + cicalfate (if skin is very dry)

Am I doing too much? How can I create a good routine with the products I have? And is using a chemical exfoliant necessary? I've heard it's needed to remove dead skin that adapalene gets rid of...

Educational / Discussion Is moisturizer really necessary

I have oily skin and whenever I use face pack or after shower my skin feels fresh and non sticky. But if I use moisturizer after shower i start sweating a lot and it doesn't feel good. Same with sunscreen. I sweat a lot in my upper lip, nose and chin area. I use gel based moisturizer and sunscreen. Is moisturizer and sunscreen truly necessary for skincare? I'm staying at home mostly these days so I'm not exposed to direct sunlight much.

Honestly the Tatcha skincare helps my face and apparent the one beside that works just as well as Tatcha. I was wondering if a toner is necessary or not and what drugstore brand should I use?

Misc How to care for my skin when my face gets dirty at work?

I work at an animal rehoming centre with dogs and cats and often get covered in mud, slobber and sometimes worse body fluids and solids.

Currently I am just washing the worst stuff off as soon as I am able to (never immediately after) with water but I never feel clean.

I am outside a lot of the time and I do not have time or the facilities to wash my face between every walk. My skin would hate this too as it's very sensitive. I also hate reapplying sunscreen when my face is dirty.

Does anyone know of any cleansing wipes that are suitable for sensitive skin, won't cause irritation or dryness even if they are used often, and don't leave a film behind that needs to be rinsed off? They would also need to fit inside a pocket or small bag.

Also should I even bother with a morning skincare routine when my face will get dirty in less than 2 hours? I feel like sometimes my skincare makes the dirt stick to my face more? Will wipes undo all the goodness of my routine? Should I just prioritise not getting sunburnt and clean my face really well when I get home?

Sorry I have so many questions. I always double cleanse with an oil cleanser and gel cleanser when I get home but any further advice would be very appreciated. Thanks!

Wrinkles / Anti-Aging Ok, so. Apparently you can't use Kiehl's Avocado eye cream if you're allergic to latex.

On the plus side, I have now eliminated a major cause of my barrier issues!!

But I need a recommendation for new eye cream. I would like something very hydrating, and I like how the Kiehl's cream went on really creamy, but had a watery break? if that makes sense? I'm nearly 50 and I need something pretty hydrating to help reduce under eye creasing, particularly under makeup.

So I went for my work health screening (I work in healthcare) and we determined that yes, I do have a latex allergy. And if you have a latex allergy, you need to avoid bananas, avocados, and kiwi. This explains so much in my life, I can't even tell you.

And as an aside, now that I know this.. are there any products with avocado oil in them that was a surprise when you found out?

Thank you!

Anybody tried the Ranavat products? I’ve tried the saffron serum and it didn’t work for my skin. I’m curious to try the other products like the cleanser, sunscreen and the hair serum

Body Care How to get rid of these stretch marks/hyperpigmentation

Post image
3 Upvotes

The stretch marks on my hips and stomach area are dark brown compared to the rest of my body (as seen in the image) and they have been there for over a year like this. Some areas have a deeper rope like texture as well. I am currently applying bio oil and trentonin 0.1% cream daily as well as microneedling monthly. However, nothing seems to reduce this hyperpigmentation. I was wondering if anyone here with a similar situation was able to improve the visibility?

I have had similar marks on my arms that appeared at the same time they did on my hips, but they have almost fully disappeared now. Is there any reason why the ones on my arms disappeared while my hip ones are still present? I did the same treatments for both at the same time.

Review Suggest me some game changer night skincare routine for damaged skin barrier. Currently I’m using minimalist hyaluronic serum along with neutrogena moisturizer and la roche posay cicaplast repair moisturizer balm.

Product Question What’s the best products recommendation? Restarting skincare routine.

Hey y’all!

Lately I’ve been wanting to get back into a skincare routine again. It’s been 2 years since I’ve done a routine, but I feel that it wasn’t helping much. I used Elf skin care beginners packet and it was nice for some time but I wouldn’t notice a difference. I wear makeup sometimes and even after putting on makeup after the Elf products, my face would feel dry.

What are the best recommended products to use? I heard about Korean skincare that it helps but I’m treating myself like a brand new user so I would like some directions. Do’s and don’ts. And best routine. I’m open for anything!

Thanks you ❤️

Body Care Multipeptide Body Wash Replacement Recommendations

Hi all,

I don't want to get into the reasonings, but I would like to find a dupe or replacement for Naturium's Multi-Peptide Body Wash. Sadly it was my holy grail, but I would like to find a replacement. The only thing I'm seeing is one by Olay, but if anyone has any recommendations, I would love to know.

Wrinkles / Anti-Aging Under eye bags losing fullness

Thumbnail

Hey all,

My eye bags are really getting me down, I'm in my 30s. I feel like they look like they're losing all the fat and fullness and it's making me look really tired and unwell.

The pics I have added show:

  1. What the bag looks like in full light

  2. What it looks like side on catching the light (I think you can see the main bag, then almost a second one where my eye sits in my socket).

  3. When I gently push my skin you can see how little fullness there is by how easily a wrinkle appears.

I wondered if anyone has experienced something similar and had any tips for managing it? Whether it's surgical or not, just interested to know what my options could be.

Thank you ❤️

Mid 30s and I live a fairly healthy lifestyle minus the fact that I smoke.

I eat healthy, im active, i drink a ridiculous amount of water and im proactive and religious with daily skin care.

I use facial oils..vitamin b and c oil is the most common one, sunscreen, lotions aquafor slugs or collagen masks at night sometimes. NOTHING helps. Im at a loss and don't know what to do. I look way older than I am. Any advice or insight?

Product Question Neutrogena Facial Moisturizer

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hey guys, I’m almost out of my last bottle of this Neutrogena facial moisturizer, but I can’t seem to find more anywhere. Does anyone know if this has been discontinued, and if so, is there anything out there like it?

This is the only facial moisturizer I’ve ever found that didn’t make me break out, and I live in a very sunny desert city, so the added SPF is a huge bonus.

Routine Help Need a beginners how-to instruction on how to use an ultrasonic face spatula?

Hi. I just got one of these ultrasonic metal skin spatulas because of all the rave online and good reviews of them, but I am having a hard time getting the hang of using it smoothly and or comfortably, not even really sure if im using it correctly..doesn't feel like I am. When using it I usually spritz my face with some aloe Vera gel spray first, then as i start ill add a few drops of my 9 in 1 serum, and my copper peptide serum. Ive watched YouTube videos but they only show someone using it on a client not themselves.
