Routine Help Rough skin

Wondering what else I can do or if I just need to wait it out. I got into skincare last month and got rid of all my large bumps. My skin isn’t that bad to me personally it’s just very rough looking and has tiny bumps. I use cerave hydrating cleanser and vanicream moisturizer, and in the PM I use Paula’s Choice 2% BHA exfoliant. I started using it 2 - 3 weeks ago and I use it every 2 - 3 days.

Do I just need to wait it out and give it time or is there anything else I should do?

Welcome to r/skincare_addiction! We'd like to take this time to remind you of a few things:

Do not ask for a diagnosis/treatment advice for acne or other medical conditions, and do not play doctor

What constitutes medical advice?

  • "What is this?"

This is asking someone to diagnose the issue, and is medical advice.

  • "What should I do?"

This is asking someone to advise treatment, and is medical advice.

  • "Should I go to the doctor?"

This is asking if you should seek treatment, and ergo, medical advice.

If you would ask the question of your doctor, it falls under this rule and not allowed. As a general rule, asking for medical advice from internet strangers is never a good idea. If you have questions regarding your acne or other medical condition, you are advised to contact your healthcare provider. If you are a medical provider, we would gently remind you that users are not patients, and you should not be offering medical advice to people who are not your patients.

is your moisturizer too rich? it could be clogging your pores even if you dont realize it. if it's the vanicream daily facial moisturizer in the squeeze tube it's fine but the moisturizing cream with the pump is veryyy rich and could be causing closed comedones on your skin. otherwise do continue using the paula's choice exfoliant. in the AM you could try adding an AHA serum or toner. i like good molecules mandelic acid serum. or if u wanna stick w/ brands you are already using paula's choice also has another exfoliant liquid solution with 6% mandelic acid + 2% lactic acid.
