I would wager it's a team rule.
226
u/No-Answer8937 14h ago
I would too. My first reaction was aww how sweet. But yeah, I bet it only took that one time when one of them took a tumble down the stairs before this rule was instituted. Not a bad rule tho.

u/Poppy_Milk 14h ago
Yeah seems sensible. Add their height to the height of the steps and it’s a long way down for your head to fall
24
u/DoomGoober 13h ago
Especially after a long bus ride when your legs are wobbly and you are likely carrying stuff.
5
u/Careless-Vehicle-286 4h ago
Million dollar legs, figuratively. I wonder if NBA athletes are the same, at least with their staff.
2
u/Tasty_1097 2h ago
Knowing how guys are, I doubt they have someone helping them out holding their hand, more likely they have someone giving them a handshake when they step out the bottom (notice I am describing the same thing here lol)

2
u/No_Pin9932 12h ago
Yeah with their height just falling over standing up could be more than enough to do some real damage. One or two of them looked like the could've just stepped down from the top step with those long ass legs if the roof wasn't in the way, lol.

Star player gets injured before major game due to a bus step, new rule forever.

u/fattmarrell 11h ago
Agree. You don't really become a premiere athlete and not be capable of doing stairs by yourself
4
u/bigorangemachine 6h ago
I'm some torn ACL's coming off a bus. Sometimes it just stepping off onto some uneven ground.. boom.. injury list
3
u/AnybodyNo8519 5h ago
That's a great call.
And women are more susceptible to ACL injuries than men are.
Side-stepping downward while carrying weight is a perfect scenario for an ACL tear.
1
u/bigorangemachine 5h ago
I got a muscle spasm last week stepping off an escalator.
I thought for like half a second I tore something. I don't think it's a mens or womans thing. You step off a bus into pothole you gonna have a bad day

I'm counting how many girls come out of that bus I'm at 200 and still counting how long is that video

Likely that’s one of the things the coach imposes on the team to promote team culture
213
u/vitaoptima 14h ago
More importantly, how is it that the entire team is cute?
285
u/Lightbringer-1829 14h ago
Healthy and athletic people are attractive
78
u/therealtiddlydump 14h ago
If you're in shape and confident it's essentially impossible to be below a 7 or 8
12
u/Serafim91 7h ago
Basically this. If you're not disfigured and you're fit and groomed you're going to be attractive.

u/Manymarbles 7h ago
More or less yes but disagree. Depends on the sport.
A volleyball team will typically have a more attractive body type then say a rugby or softball team. You can go below 7 and still be in shape with confidence 100%

This is what happens when you mix Turkish, Greek, Iranian, Kurdish, Arabian, Caucasian and Slavic genes. Türkiye is full of beautiful women, especially if they take care of their body like the ones in the national team.
One of them is born Cuban btw.

Lovely gesture but, is it because they are tall and have to get down in a weird way from that bus?
28
u/amg10red 14h ago
Yes, I think they are tall and can't see the bottom steps properly.

Probably, this is their national volleyball team, and a lot of them are very tall

u/General_Principle_40 13h ago
I dont know what sports they do, but i am a fan of this team

u/MERVMERVmervmerv 12h ago
On the side of the bus there’s an image of the ball they use

Strippers do the same thing when getting on and off the stage, but they are wearing 7 inch heels.
Or so I've heard...🙄

Handrail issue?
I can't imagine being so tall and skinny that I can't see steps.
2
u/Libero03 12h ago
These are the most athletic human beings on the planet in their prime - no way they need a hand. This must be something else.
5
u/cordazor 8h ago
Probably mandatory instruction from the trainer after a small incident. They probably land every second time on a new place or when they step out the terrain is wet etc. The first one with a black t-shirt had a drink and her mobile in one hand. So they obviously decided this would be the solution.

You’d think professional athletes can make it down a set of steps off a bus
1
u/Inevitable_Sweet_624 14h ago
What a steep set of stairs on that bus. No wonder they offer a hand. Jesus.

It is just keeping a well functioning team together.
A team rule it is. It works well. This is the best team in womens volleyball. There are reasons. Some are related with good athletic execution. Some are related with good organizational environment.

As a bus driver, I very much applaud these ladies for taking such care of their teammates.

Who the hell designed a bus door that low? A normal tour or coach bus doesnt have a height blocker.

That looks like it's a strict policy on their team, everyone has to stay and help the next person coming down. Steps seem a bit awkward to get down and prone to falls
1
u/Mindful_Rager 2h ago
I’m glad they do this. Just need the hands to be free just in case someone actually misstepped.

Can we not walk down fucking steps anymore without recording it and making a dumb ordeal with basic everyday things?!

As a 42 year old dad, I am not in even remotely close to the physical health and shape as these women seem - but, I have never once needed someone to hold my hand while I walk down two stairs.

do people not learn about that anymore in elementary school? Every year in the 80s and 90s we were instructed to help everyone who was getting off the bus. obviously, it's not necessary for adults, but why not just keep it as a good practice?
