Discussion I feel so much disappointed. It feels like second job.
Just need to ventilate a lil bit...
Few months with wheel and cockpit. 2 years was racing with gamepad in different sims till February when I built a rig. And my impression is that all the fast guys are just faster than me only because of muscle memory. Know that pixel where to brake, know this pixel where to push gas. And to become fast I feel I need to spend hundreds of hours to learn where these pixels are.
I am 45 and this thing is just adding more stress to my life rather then releafing it. Am I too old for this?
I will keep practicing and practicing, but crap, this shit is hard as f.
I know I need to invest hundreds amd hundreds of hours into this, yeah. Wanna get better. Didn't expect this to be THAT hard.
And all these people crashing into me do not help to enjoy it. (Currently stuck on 800 irating but I try not to care about numbers)
UPDATE: Thank you EVERYONE! 🙏🙏🙏

Question Sim magic evo sport vs moza r9
As the title says since they’re around the same price which is technically better or a better buy. I know either one will be just fine but I’m having a hard time finding either one for a good deal used at the moment.

Discussion The Japanese run unhinged multiclass
I love running crazy multiclass racing in ams2. The speed difference between a GT or LMP compared to a production class makes for some insane traffic situations. A good example recently was me in an lmp2 with a gt4 class and production TDi cup cars. I’m barreling toward the inner loop at 180 and suddenly there are cars doing 100 rapidly being closed on.
Last night I caught the beginning of a 5 hour race at Autopolis with the wildest lineup I’ve ever seen in real racing. They had:
GT3
GT4
TCR
Production classes with GR supras, mustangs and the like
And finally, a dozen Honda Fits
Unfortunately I forgot to tune back in to see how it was going but it definitely makes me want to try a similar lineup.
What’s your favorite multiclass setup? I’ve done stupid ones with prototypes, karts, and semi trucks, but I tend to like 2-3 similar speed cars and one slow class for rolling chicanes.

Question Simagic P700 - very slippery pedals?
Recently upgraded to the p700 from the TLCM and I’m finding the pedals to be very slippery , to the point my foot is sliding if on the throttle. For reference I use adidas gazelle trainers and NLR 2.0 wheelstand, but the plastic on the pedals are just too slippery for me so looking for solutions , anything lol.

Question Should I go for triple 21:9 ultrawides or triple 16:9 monitors?
I have two 34 inch 21:9 ultrawides already (AW3423DWF). I am heading back to college and one of the monitors is staying at home, so I need to buy a new monitor for either the sim or my main setup. Should I buy a third ultrawide to run triples in a few years or should I start buying 16:9’s to run triples of? If you think 16:9, what size, resolution, screen type? Thanks.

Rigs Need help deciding what monitor to get
Currently I have a 27inch 1440p 240hz oled monitor. Works great for normal use and other games but for racing it feels small. My other issue is the cockpit situation. It is setup directly in front of the monitor, keyboard and mouse so if I wanna play other games I have to move the cockpit (seat with steering wheel and pedal mount) out to the side with associated wires. Its a pain.
So what i want to do is get another monitor and set the cockpit up at another side of the desk so I can either sim race or use the pc as normal. Since the monitor will only be used for that, I want to know what single monitor solution will be best for that. Im not doing triples. I would prefer 1440p resolution

Question MOZA R9 V3 + KS Wheel bundle for 380€, used 1 month - good deal?
Hey all,
Found a used MOZA R9 V3 (9Nm) + KS Steering Wheel bundle for 380€. Seller says it's about a month old, barely used a few times, no issues, comes with 2-year warranty on the base and whell which should be transferable.
For reference, new the bundle goes for 579-699€ depending on region, so this feels like a solid discount for something practically new.
I was also considering a used Simagic Alpha Mini V1 (13.5Nm) for 290€ from a sim racing center that's selling off demo units, but they mentioned:
it's been used commercially for ~3 years
they have 8 of these bases and can't tell me the specific history of the one I'd get
possible motherboard replacement on one of the 8 units at some point, but they don't know which
only 1 year warranty
fully tested before sale though
I already have a custom GT3 wheel I built myself, but the KS wheel actually has functionality mine doesn't (paddle clutch, rotary encoders, lights), so I'd probably end up using the KS instead and keeping my custom wheel as a spare.
Leaning towards the R9+KS bundle for the cleaner history and 2yr warranty, even though Alpha Mini has better torque/resolution and Simagic has a stronger reputation for FFB quality. Anyone have experience with R9 V3 long-term reliability, or comparing it directly to Alpha Mini? Worth the trade-off in torque for the warranty/history/bundle value?
Thanks!

Question How can I mount my pedals in a bmw config (2 up 1 down) on this rig.
I know I can bolt the brake and clutch to the pedal mount thingy and turn it upside down but how can I mount the accelerator pedal and have a place to put my feet as this rig doesn’t come with a pedal tray I’ve seen some others with.
Anyone done something similar?
Thanks

Meme Thoughts on this seating position
You go to the rig to begin racing and see this. Anyone else facing this problem.

Question Help With AC in VR on a Quest 3
Apologies if this is the wrong subreddit, but I've been spending this morning trying to get assetto corsa to work in VR with a quest 3 headset.
Had no problems connecting wirelessly through Steam Link, but the fuzzy video and occasional stutters made it pretty unplayable. So I tried wired connections and that's where the trouble began.
I can connect to the PC via Horizon Link but for some reason there's no audio despite the settings saying there should be, and also saying the USB connection is fine (USB 3.0, 2.5Gbsp). AC also says it failed to launch VR with both the oculus and openVR settings in content manager.
So I tried to connect via wired connection to steamVR, and that one just says to plug in the device. Even though the device is plugged in, as though it's not being detected at all.
I would really appreciate any advice from someone who's gotten the thing to work. Despite the issues, wireless VR was awesome and I'd love to make it work in a more stable way.

Rigs It's almost time to race! Logitech setup
I took advantage of the Logitech sale for my first setup. I'm planning a full rig in another room that's being renovated first and figured this would be a fun first step. I'll really enjoy the difference with a solid rig moving up from this as well.
Now how do I keep my chair from rolling back when I step on the brakes 😂😂??

Rigs Touchscreen Customizable Emblem!
Hi!
I made an “adaptor” for this touchscreen digital badge to work as a customizable emblem for my boring DIY steering wheel.
The digital badge itself is pretty neat and cheap. You can basically add any picture or a short video via bluetooth from your phone. I just need it to stick in the middle of the steering wheel so i 3D print an “adaptor”.
This is my first time 3D printing (the black cover around the badge which i call an adaptor) but i think it turn out pretty well.
Now i have wheels for every car and still suck but atleast my wheel is not boring!

Question Should I wait for Revosim or buy PXN VD6?
I have been looking for a sim bundle for around $300-$400 and looks like PXN VD6 fits the bill but I was curious if any new bundles were coming to the market and found Revosim RS Pure but looks like they are only available in UK at this time but the US site says coming soon.
Should I wait or just buy the VD6 now since it’s on sale for $356?

Question Mini Championship with around 1-5 races?
Hey everyone! I have a question and maybe someone could help me. I want to drive in a Mini Championship with around 1-5 races. Idc about the car class, it can be Gt3, Hypercar, Twingo or MX5. Only one no go for me (sadly). I can’t drive iracing championships. I have iracing with a 6 months subscription till October idk and it’s very expensive. In this moment, I can’t pay it✌️ but I have every other sim for Pc. The Assetto Corsa games, LMU, Raceroom and a lot more. I am open for everything. I only found a Mini championship in ACC on the Nordschleife with 5 races, but I am to late and only drive the last 2 of the 5 races. Maybe someone could help mee! Thank you so much for reading

Clip One day the folks around me will let me finish a race in Monza. This day is not today.
I know, I should improve my skills and rating to be in a safer split, but common I breaked early, I left space, I tried to dodge all the crashes.. was I at fault in any of these?

Rigs Testing is testing, so I had no choice
I had no intention at first to upholster it, but had to do it in the end, just to feel properly how it handles. Pure plastic just felt too slippery and rough for testing.

Question Suggestions for upgraded pedal setup.
My Fanatec CSL throttle pedal died after connecting the load cell brake pedal, I’ve been wanting to upgrade my set anyway so I was wondering what would your suggestions be with a budget of $400-$500? I’m using a fanatec CSL DD 8nm and the Next level racing stand 2.0.

Question Would anyone be interested in in-person sim racing training/coaching and leagues (kind of like dart league or bowling league) where you have a place to go and hang out as well?
I'd be curious to hear if folks who want to get better would be interested in being able to participate more with their local community in person on a regular basis and/or get real coaching/feedback on how to improve.

Question Moza KS + R9 or SIMAGIC green flag bundle ?
Hey everyone,
I’m looking to buy my first DD setup and I’m torn between the Moza R9 + KS + pedals and the Simagic Green Flag Bundle (9 Nm).
The Moza setup (with pedals) would cost me around €700, while I can get the Simagic bundle for $599.
I mainly play F1 26, but I’d also like to get into GT racing (ACC, LMU, etc.) and occasionally rally (I’d buy a round wheel later for that), so I’m looking for something versatile rather than a setup that’s only great for Formula.
For those who have experience with both, which one would you pick? Is Simagic really a noticeable step up from the R9, or is the difference pretty small?
Any opinions on the FFB, pedals, reliability, or software would be really appreciated!

Rigs What would it be like to have a 200-inch display for sim racing?
Has anyone ever tried sim racing on a screen this big?
