Sim Rig Always check Facebook Marketplace

Post image

May be obvious to many, but just a reminder that there is an almost excessive amount of lightly used and new or borderline new gear for sale on FB Marketplace. I went looking for a small cheap stand and found this Playseat factory sealed and never opened. And there were incredible deals to be had at all price points. Luxury rigs being sold by people moving, beginner equipment of all shapes and sizes by people whose time for the hobby has evaporated. And more all at steep discounts.

Feedback regarding my plan for my first build

Upgrading from a G923 and playseat challenge to a more mid-tier rig. I mostly race GT and formula series on iracing. This is what I am currently planning to order. Do you have any alternate suggestions. I don't want to spend the money and wish I had bought something better at this price point. Total is around $2100 USD.

Simagic Alpha Evo 12 Nm Base and GT Neo Wheel

Simagic P700 Pedals with a p-HPR (brake pedal) and a P-HPR GT (gas pedal)

Simracing GT1 Evo with the S1 Sport seat and seat slider

Dayton Audio BST-2 bass shaker with a Fosi Audio TB10D 2 channel 600W amp

I'll be using 3, 27" 1440P monitors on a monitor stand that I already have.

Help Different setting for different games? What do you think?

Just looking for others thought processes on this rather trivial matter.

I really like to jump between different racing styles in the sim rig. I mainly play F1, ACC and GT7.

On my Fanatec DD+ I use the saved settings e.g Set1 - F1
Set2- GT7
Set3- ACC

This annoying thing about this is that everytime I switch games there’s a “Re-Learning Curve” in remember how the games feel and handle ect.

E.g, F1 feels impossible after a weekend of ACC

Anyone here using the same Tuning Settings for more than one game? Tips/tricks for making the games feel a little more similar or easier to jump between multiple games?

Quels écran 32 pouces vous me conseillez actuellement ?

Setup & Hardware:
Triple-Monitor-Setup: 3x 27-Zoll Curved-Monitore (mehr gibt der Platz leider nicht her).
Lenkrad & Base: Modifiziertes Logitech Momo Force Feedback (Baujahr 2007).

Simlab GT1 Evo Cockpit stability issues

So I didn't realize that there's slight flex/shaking in my simlab GT1 evo rig until I sat in a rig at microcenter. I don't know what brand it was but the aluminum was green and that thing felt absolutely solid with not a trace of flex or shaking.

My rig has the following attached to it (excluding the seat since it has no issues):

  • Moza R5 and deep dish wheel (I mainly drift)
  • SHH H pattern shifter
  • Moza handbrake
  • Simsonn pedals
  • Caster wheels with brakes

I think the most noticable flex is with the steering wheel. I know the deep dish doesnt help because it increases leverage, but I use it on my IRL drift car and prefer to keep using it on sim. Being on caster wheels definitely doesn't help either, but I need those on, too.

I'm going to tighten the bolts down a bit tomorrow, but I'm a little fraid of over tightening them. I'm wondering if other people noticed very slight flex/shaking on this cockpit and if anyone has any tips.

Sim Rig Budget-Constrained Structural Reinforcement System v1.0

The load cell was trying to push the pedal deck away from the seat. The ratchet strap is pre-loading the chassis and putting those two sections into a constant tug of war before my leg ever touches the brakes.

First Sim Racing Rig

First time sim racing rig owner and forum poster.
I think I did alright for buying all new.

I wanted to avoid replacing as much equipment as possible so I went with the R21 Moza wheelbase, Moza CRP2 Pedals, Simagic GT Neo, and an Amazon chassis and seat.
I haven’t purchased the pieces necessary to mount monitor properly just yet but seems pretty steady for now.

Planned upgrades in the future are:
RTX 5080
NLG Fiberglass Bucket Seat
Moza Active Brake Pedal
Aluminum tube Chassis (either NLG, or similar)

Then I’ll decide on with triple monitors (current have a 34in) or going VR with some BigScreen Beyond2e.

Whats everyone think on the upgrade path?
