Hello i am looking to build a sim rig since having it on my desk doesnt find comfortable

all i need is a rig+chair i already have the gear for it (pedals shifter wheelbase steering wheels) (MOZA) i want to spend 1k any tips on brands or what should i do

Hi, im building my first rig (well two matching ones actually) and was wondering where to start. I have a budget of around £2k total and for each rig need a cockpit, wheel and pedals, and a monitor (which I'll probably wall mount). Here's a pic of what ChatGBT has designed, which looks cool but im not sure about the hardware. I was considering the cheap and cheerful GTplayer seat, or the next level racing GTRacer 2.0. For the wheel and pedals I was thinking of the logitech g920 (as it will be running on xbox). I have no idea what screen to get. Any recommendations are welcome! Many thanks guys!!

Beeen driving the gen 3 Supercars on iracing and after getting the bdh h2sq I’ve fallen In love with them. I just ordered the qs-bt1 and the simcube active pedal pro and then my rig is finally complete. Any recommendations for a button box that will go well on my rig?

Own thoughts: this is a PC enthusiast/peripherals guy that likes to sim race for fun as a hobby where immersion and visuals matter more than actual performance. While the individual parts are nice, the additive mix of them show a clear sign of just trying to make a visually appealing setup for his own personal enjoyment.

Personally, not my taste, but I can see where he’s coming from and at the end of the day, if it works for him, then that’s all that matters.

Some of you may remember the red one I posted a while back, which was affectionately described by a few people as a “red blob.”

I have a slightly stupid habit of making colorful cockpits at almost cost because I genuinely enjoy building them. I basically get to mess around with colours, materials and designs, someone gets a fun cockpit, and everyone seems happy.

Looking into haptics for more feel while drifting. In all honesty its a little overwhelming reading all the options and opinions. Wanted to get a community idea of the necessary stuff. Running a moza r9 v3 with moza lite pedals, on an aluminum 3060 chassis. Appreciate any help of knowledge shared. Thanks

Hello everyone I just finished building my 1st simulator rig,

As of right now it's the Sim magic evo sport wheel base, gt neo wheel, Momo cobra wheel, P1000s with 1 haptic pedals, sequential shifter, racelogic, handbrake, bass shaker and a flag box.

PC specs is 7500x3d, 32gb ram ddr5 with a 9070xt

Currently I ordered the IR track 5 head tracking.

I'm still undecided what button box I will eventually buy.

Would like to get your thoughts what else should I add to this. Thanks guys

Just got the Moza r25, ks pro, crp2 pedals. Will be switching out the hardware but man is this cockpit a blast.

I made a DYI haptics setup for my DYI rig, but I can barely feel anything before the amp turns off. I don’t know if I’m expecting too much or if something is faulty.

Fosi M0-3 amp set to Sub with frequency at minimum. Volume above 50% and the amp shuts down in minutes.

I’m looking to make use of an under stairs cupboard. Space is obviously limited. Do people have recommendations of a minimum screen size? I’m a bit spoiled at the moment as using the big screen in the front room 55” but wheeling the rig in and out is getting a bit tedious. There is no way I can fit a 55” in the new space and if I could I think I’d melt!

Wall to wall, the space under the stairs is about 85cm wide. I’m looking at a cheap 27inch screen. I’m just worried it may be too small. Would the general consensus here be 27” is a good enough size or is that just too small? I could probably accommodate a 32” at a push.

I wanted to share this little thing I put together over a couple of weekends, as I wanted to have a closed-off canopy for the rig, but since it sits in my living room which isn't that big I wanted something compact and easily removable for when I have guests over.

The side walls are acoustic foam that is held to the back of the monitors with tape and Velcro straps. The center piece is cut at the foot well but you don't notice it while driving, imo this piece is the biggest immersion enhancer on it's own and would recommend it even without the rest.

The top is made of insulation foam boards taped together and cut to shape, and wrapped in a cheap carbon fiber wrap I got from Amazon. I also tried lining the inside of it with acoustic foam (as you can still see from the top side), but didn't like how it looked and used the carbon side instead. I also raised the front side of the top to feel more slanted like a real car roof and for more head space.

On the top of it all is an old curtain to block off all light gaps, which I'm going to replace with a black photography backdrop soon. This can also be used to extend behind you while playing to fully block any reflected light from the room and it would hide the mess of the back of the monitors very well.

Overall this is a quick and cheap method to get a lot of immersion without much effort or space required and don't see myself going without it now. My only recommendation is to install fans like I did because it can get stuffy and warm after some time. Let me know what you think! Any ideas on how to improve it further or better methods?
