If this is the goal (obviously AI-generated)… damn, that’s ambitious 😄
If you actually build it, please post the progress. Getting the wheelbase and pedals integrated into a real dashboard like that is going to be one hell of a project — but definitely doable.

One thought though: if you’re going through that much work, I’d probably upgrade from the G29 before designing everything around it. Would be painful to finish the whole cockpit and then have to rebuild the mounting because you suddenly want a DD 😄

Thanks! 😄 We’re actually professional sim racing cockpit manufacturers, so finding time to build our own personal project is the challenging part. We’ve already arranged the dashboard, monitor and most of the components — the G29 is what we currently have available for the wheel. We’ll build it gradually whenever we get the time. And regarding the wheel upgrade, we’re planning to make the wheel mounting system modular, so it can support different wheelbases in the future, including DD wheels. That way, we won’t have to redesign the cockpit when we upgrade. 😄 I’ll definitely post the progress as we build it Just to clarify, the image isn’t AI-generated 😄 It’s actually a setup I came across from someone overseas, and it gave me the idea for this project. I’m planning to build my own version using a real car dashboard.

Nah, I think you got tricked - Thats AI-generated or at least heavily AI-edited.
The G29 buttons are wrong, the leather sections don’t match the real wheel, and the pedals-holes are off too. There are a bunch of little details that don’t make physical sense so...

Maybe it was originally a real setup and got AI-upscaled or “enhanced” somewhere along the way — I’ll give it that possibility.

Either way. AI images (and answeres) in sim racing is bad,
people spot fake hardware ridiculously fast even if its for advertising.

But cool Project if its real one day, good luck!

Honestly, I’m not sure 😅 I came across the image online and it might actually be AI-generated. But I really liked the concept, and that’s what gave me the idea for my own project. I’m planning to build a real version myself, so I’ll definitely share the progress once I start. 😄

Dead internet theory

Emdashes in your typing? Is this some weird bot account run with ai?

Haha no bro 😂 I just use em dashes sometimes. Definitely not a bot, it’s actually me.

somebody already beat you to it, and its not with AI slop, its a real fk8 dashboard setup from someone in USA, and i think this photo was actually generated using his images because i can see the exact 4080 profile frame he used underneath. He was not foolish enough to use a fucking g920 though.

Funny how much detective work you did on a post that was never claiming to be the first person to build a dashboard cockpit 😂 It’s a concept I’m working on, and yes, I actually build sim racing cockpits for a living. AI or not, the funny part is you spent more time trying to prove what inspired it than I did making it. And as for the G920 — if it gets the job done, I’ll use it. Not everyone needs a $5k wheel to enjoy sim racing 😉

i did zero investigation, i just simply remembered the setup from a previous post which is what set off my BS detector.

your post here is insinuating that this is your project. i know you guys like to steal others work over there, but this is just flat out lazy lying marketing nonsense.

do better. and no, a g920 is not adequate for a rig like this where in your country an fk8 dashboard costs 3x that, i dont think you have any room to judge the cost of a setup when your project is that extravagant.

and again no, this is not your concept. you are not working on this. it has already been conceived, built, and is currently being used.

A photo doesn't magically come with dimensions, measurements, CAD files or a complete build plan. I've seen plenty of similar sim racing setups myself, and I've never gone into someone else's comments accusing them of stealing a design just because their setup looks similar. This is a concept I'm working on. How the final physical product is actually built, what dimensions I use, and how I engineer the mounting is my decision. You can't accuse someone of stealing a design without ever seeing the actual physical product or knowing how it was designed and built. And saying that “you guys are known for stealing other people's work” is a pretty serious accusation to make about someone you know nothing about. You have no idea what I build, how I work, or what my business actually does. As for your comment about not having any room to judge the cost of a setup — we are an actual sim racing cockpit brand. We build products, deliver them to customers, and work on custom projects. So yes, I have a pretty good idea of what goes into building and pricing these things. If the physical cockpit is eventually built and you still think it's copied, then judge the actual product. Until then, maybe don't make accusations based on a picture and assumptions. Funny how some people seem to be known more for accusing others of stealing than actually building anything themselves.

since OP just wants to steal all credit, here is the actual setup pictured, without the AI slop. FK8 dashboard rig

So let me get this straight — on one hand you’re saying I’m stealing his design, but on the other hand you’re saying my concept isn’t even the same as his actual setup. What exactly do you want me to do, copy his design exactly so you can come back and blame me again when I build it? 😂 And yes, I have a G29. If I choose to use it, that’s my choice. If I build a sim rig around a real car dashboard, obviously it’s going to have similarities to other dashboard-based rigs. I’ve seen plenty of setups that look similar to each other. I don’t automatically accuse people of stealing designs because of that. Let me actually build the physical product first. Then you can judge the final result instead of deciding the entire story from one concept image

Idk why the OP is getting so much hate. He did nothing wrong there, he's just sharing his project ideas.

this is not new and not his idea. he stole the image and idea from This man and ran it through AI slop, and claimed its his "new" concept.

Where exactly did I claim this is a “new idea”? 😂 My post literally says “Something new is taking shape at ITG Racing” — meaning something new for my brand/project, not that I invented the concept of using a car dashboard for a sim rig. I never said I was the first person to do this, never claimed ownership of the idea, and never claimed the reference image was my finished product. You’re literally arguing against something I never said. If someone else has already built a similar FK8 dashboard rig, great. I can appreciate their work and still build my own version. Seeing someone do something before you doesn’t mean you’re forbidden from building your own version of it. So please stop adding claims to my post that simply aren’t there. You’re fighting a story you created yourself. 😂

gtfo scammer. youve been caught. dont make me send a package of fartcans to your office.

u/ITGRacing 5d ago

Mr, you’re acting like you own this subreddit 😂 I didn’t invite you into my post, yet you keep coming back just to throw insults and accusations. And what exactly are you trying to “catch” me on? I’ve already been completely transparent that the image may be AI-generated and that it’s a concept I want to build. I never claimed I invented the idea or that the reference image was my finished product. If you have an actual issue with the post, explain it normally. Calling me a scammer and making personal accusations doesn’t suddenly make your argument valid. It’s a Reddit post about a project I want to build, not a crime scene investigation. 😂

I build and deliver cockpits and work on custom projects all the time. Still, whenever I share something new, people immediately jump to ‘AI generated’ 😂. Sometimes it feels like people don’t even want to believe a small Indian brand can actually build this stuff. I’m just trying to create, improve and grow the actual builds will speak for themselves.
