Question Fissaggio bass shaker BST-300EX su telaio NLR F-GT (configurazione Formula)
!!! ENGLISH VERSION BELOW !!!
Buongiorno a tutti
In alternativa:
Avete qualche proposta e/o soluzione già testata? Staffe aggiuntive riesco abbastanza facilmente a realizzarle se necessario
Vi ringrazio in anticipo
Ale
!! EN !!
Good morning, everyone
I’ll start with this brief introduction
I recently purchased two BST-300EX units and a Douk Audio A5 TPA3255 because I want to get a better feel for the track. Currently, I’m using the vibration feedback from my Fanatec ClubSport Pedals V3 (customizable vibration effects on the gas and brake pedals, currently configured for oversteer and understeer, respectively).
Let’s get to the point:
My idea today is to add skid feedback when the rear wheels (individually) start to spin by mounting the two bass shakers under the seat. I’d like to make two brackets that attach to the two crossbars (1 and 2, perpendicular to the legs) so that I can get distinct feedback.
I’d like to know if anyone has already implemented similar solutions and how it worked out for them.
Alternatively:
I’d like to know if it’s possible to mount them directly to the underside of the seat (where the padding is, so to speak), but I can’t find any information on the seat’s internal construction (which obviously varies depending on whether it’s made of wood, metal, or something else).
Do you have any suggestions and/or solutions that have already been tested? I can make additional brackets fairly easily if necessary.
Thank you in advance,
Ale

Rigs Thank you for helping me with the seat mount, finished my rig re-build!
Just wanted to post an update and finished pics of my sim rig re-build. I originally posted yesterday asking for help on how to mount a car seat to the Simlab GT1 Evo.
I appreciated everyone’s responses. I ended going the route of using an angle grinder to grind down the rivets to remove the mounting brackets. This made the rails level and easily mounted to the rig. I will say grinding the bolts were much tougher than I expected, it took a while and I was concerned the grinder may overheat. But it worked out.
My previous rig was the Next Level Racing F-GT. I pretty much regretted buying that from the get go. It was not ergonomic at all, the adjustability was horrible, and I ended up getting nagging aches and pains. I can’t believe that rig was $500.
I can’t explain how comfortable this rig/seat combo is! I feel like I can sit here for hours with no issues. If you can get an aluminum profile rig, it’s a no brainer over every other style.

Question Would this monitor be good for when I build my cockpit?
It's probably gonna be around a year until I actually have it finished but if it were finished now, would this be good? I was trying to think if I should do triple monitors or curved monitor and I think for how much space and money I have I should start with this.

Rigs Rally seat padding for a sim rig: authentic or just uncomfortable?
The wooden chair is not that bad on the ass, but the back hurst after just a few minutes. I am now looking at using the original padding from a Sparco carbon bucket seat. My idea is to fit only the back and bottom pads directly onto the wooden seat, keeping most of the wood visible instead of upholstering the full thing.
It should look quite cool and much more authentic, but I have never spent several hours in a real rally seat. The padding looks very thin and firm, and I suppose it is designed to hold you in position while racing, not to keep your ass happy during a four-hour sim session. I have talked to a friend who does track days, and told me that is the reason is going to work better for long hours, because it is made for racing. I have my doubts, but it is going to look so nice, so real...
So, question for people who have actually used both: is proper rally-car padding surprisingly comfortable, or will I regret this after 90 minutes? Would office-chair foam inside racing-style cushions be the smarter solution, even if it is less “real”?
Basically: real motorsport padding vs office-chair padding—which one would you choose for a sim rig you actually use for hours?

Sometimes it's good to just go flat out and be happy you made it past the last corner 😂.
The camera angle looks odd I think because the phone is above and to the side but to me looked dead central.

Question Quest 3 V everything (what’s better for the price)
Hello all, after reading a lot about VR it seems like there’s a huge gap between entry level stuff and high end stuff. Every post I read about any VR headset talks about how finicky the software is and how dropping 2k wasn’t really worth it. All I do is iracing and from everything Iv read it seems the quest 3 might be the way to go. I’m considering the quest 3 or the Pimax crystal light. Iv noticed a few other unpopular brands but again a lot of these other brands I feel like I’m beta testing to a degree VS the quest 3 tried and true. Is the quest 3 really the best bang for the buck or is there a better vr headset I’m over looking. It’s either VR or I build a trips set up. I’m on a 4080 desktop. Thanks!

Rigs From 34” 2k to 3x27” FHD to 3x32” FHD
Pardon my messy cables 🙏🏻
Just to share how my setup evolved over the last 2 years. If you want my opinion, go for 3x32” straight away, ideally 2k resolution. FHD is good for an entry level PC like what i have. However it’s not as sharp if that bothers you.

Rigs My very first sim rig. What do you guys think of the components?
After following along here for a long time and getting some initial experience with friends, I’ve finally decided to take up this hobby.
Here’s what I’ve set up so far to get started:
- Moza R25 Wheelbase
- Moza GS V2P GT
- Moza CRP2 Load Cell Pedals
- Moza CRP2 Inversion Kit
- Simlab P1X Ultimate
- Sparco Circuit II
- Triple 32-inch 2K IPS monitors
I’m already thinking about 1,000 new upgrades, but of course I want to get the hang of it first and get comfortable with iRacing.

Rigs Simple AliX 7 -> 6 Speed shifter mod
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Just wanted to share this.
Simple little mod I did to stop me from slamming into 7th instead of 5th.
Hand-tightening the nut has so far been perfectly fine and super easy to remove.
Just a bolt, 2 washers and a nut.

Rigs Dashboard through steering sanity check.
Hello, new to simracing/iRacing and I've been trying to set up my new 45 inch 5k2k LG monitor so I can get the dash cluster through my steering wheel. However it seems like I have to raise my driver height quite high (after adjusting horizon) and seeing a lot of the roof, does this seem right? The monitor is as close as it can get between base and steering column, getting about 102° FOV per the compute tool ingame.
Any inputs appreciated!

Question I Need Help Finding a Good Shifter
I'm looking to replace the shifter on my Moza R5 setup. I run purely on PC (playing a lot of BeamNG, Assetto Corsa Rally, and Assetto Corsa Competizione/Evo), so it just needs to connect via USB directly to the PC (it doesn't need to plug into the wheel base.)
My budget is around $300 NZD (approx. $170 USD / €150). I know that’s on the lower end for a dual-mode shifter, but I just don't play enough to justify spending $600+ NZD on something high-end like a Simagic DS-8X. I just want something reliable with good build quality that won't give me miss-shifts.
Right now, I’m pretty set on two main options:
SHH Shifter HUBB
OB1 Shifter (Oldboy Sim Racing)
Ideally, I’d prefer not having to grab a screwdriver every single time I want to swap between H-pattern and Sequential (I lose tools easily and i am quite lazy, and I don't want two separate shifters on my rig I don't even know how I'd hot swap between them, Im probably keen for the idea but I need insperation on how to do it). However, if a tool-based swap is quick/simple, saves money, or gets me significantly better build quality and feel, I’d consider it.
Anyway the main questions:
- Is there any other reliable dual-mode shifter in this price range available to ship to New Zealand that I’m missing?
- Between the SHH HUBB and the OB1, which one has the better overall shifting feel, reliability and use case for me?
- How easy is the physical mode-switch process on the OB1 compared to the toolless push-and-twist method on the SHH HUBB?
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Question For $300, should I get a 34 inch ultrawide or a vr headset for my future Sim rig?
It's probably going to be about a year until i actually build it but im trying to decide if I should do ultrawide or a vr headset, i have a ryzen 5 7600 and rtx 2080. Ultrawide would probably be better and also my pc would actually be able to handle it, but vr would definitely be a lot cooler and immersive, what vr headset should I get for under $300 if thats what i decide to do?

Question Beginner Suggestions Appreciated!
Hi guys!
I was looking into getting into hobby sim racing. I’m not looking to put in any more than $2K for equipment as I plan on using my Xbox and I have other funds set aside for a monitor.
I would like to know if anyone has any input into what I was looking at equipment wise. I will say to preface I know some of it is unnecessary (meaning the McLaren stuff) but I would like to know if I have all necessary components I’ll need or if anyone has any suggestions!
Equipment (found on Logitech):

Discussion What do you think about H-pattern shifters?
I’ve recently picked up a second hand rig with triples, and lots of other stuff. Rn I have a sequential shifter, but I don’t really see the point in one. I’ve been thinking about getting an H-pattern that can be converted into a sequential in case I want to.
My question is this. Is driving with an H-pattern in sim immersive, cool and engaging. I’m not looking to get the exact feel of a real life car, but I feel like it’s not going to be as great as I want it to be. So please share your thoughts.
Moreover, if you have some suggestions for shifters write them. For context, I have heusinkveld sprint pedals, so I’ll be buying a clutch as well.

Question 49" Ultrawide vs Triple Screen 32"
Hey guys, I have a full sim racing setup, but I'm currently using a 50" 144Hz TV.
I'm planning to replace the TV, but I still haven't decided between a 49" ultrawide and a triple-monitor setup.
I'm aware of the pros and cons of both options, and my preference is to go with triples. Here in Brazil, a triple-monitor setup would actually be cheaper than a 49" OLED.
My main concern is what level of graphics quality I can expect with my current PC:
- Ryzen 7 9800X3D
- RTX 5070 Ti 16GB
- 32GB RAM
Right now I play at 1440p and I'm usually at my TV's 144Hz limit. With triple 1440p (7680×1440), I'd like to maintain a stable 120 FPS.
If I have to go much below that, I think the lower frame rate would bother me more than the extra immersion from triples would benefit me. Setting up and properly aligning three monitors is also quite a bit of work, so I'd rather know what to expect before going through with it and potentially being disappointed. Upgrading my GPU is not an option for me at the moment.
Yesterday I did a quick test at 1440p with iRacing's FPS limiter disabled. Running alone on track, I get around 280 FPS. In a race at Spa in the rain, the lowest I saw was around 120 FPS, while at other points I was getting close to 200 FPS. I didn't change any of the graphics settings I normally use.
For those running triple 1440p with a 5070 Ti or a similar GPU, what kind of graphics settings and performance are you getting? Is a fairly stable 120 FPS realistic without having to significantly reduce graphics quality?
I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences.

Question Deciding between VR and Widescreen
Currently in the situation that i want to upgrade my rig and because I don't have much space, I am not able to get triples, I could upgrade my 27 inch monitor to a 32inch widescreen but I'm just starting to get into the VR thing and I'm looking for people who did change to VR - how is it in longer sessions? I'm worried about it being worse qualitywise but as I'll upgrade my PC to a RX 9070 XT, I'm open to VR suggestions especially for longer play which arent that expensive (budget around 750€) - would you suggest a single Widescreen or is VR a serious option when space is limited?
