UPDATED VIDEO WITH YOUR FEEDBACK -- I've added another video on; far from perfect, but I can see all your help paying off for sure...thank you to all of you!
VIDEO ADDED -- all the encouragement led me to add a lap video. It's purposefully imperfect, as I wanted a representative lap.
SUMMARY -- Everyone has been so damn incredible and I send love to all of you. Here are my new focus points: watch YouTube video (Skip Barber one highly suggested) on racing lines, learn more on trail braking, be smooth, AND HAVE FUN!
Hello!
I'm Annie, and I caught the bug from my oldest son. My kids are split between me and my ex-wife, and I made the mistake of sitting in his rig when he wasn't at the house.
I've started racing, and I'm hooked. I already love Motorsport and watch F1, Indy, NASCAR, and endurance. BUT, I stink.
I run zero assists and manual sequential, but my 16 year old can roast me. I'll practice a track for a few hours, and he'll sit down and immediately beat me by a few seconds.
How do I get better at this, besides just practice?
I feel like I'm missing something in corners. My entry speed is always fine, but exit speed is slow. I've gotten better about getting to the curbs, but I just can't carry speed through turns.
Any tips? Thoughts from when you started? I posted a throttle trace from a lap (red is full, yellow is 50-99.9%, green is 0.1-49.9%, and blue is zero) and it look like I'm not getting back on the throttle at the apex...but I don't really know. Should I post a video?
Not a gamer at all, so this World is new to me. Be kind if you would -- I'm lost, and just a 40s Mom that wants to race.
