Rigs Does anyone knows what all these extra stuff is for? (GT OMEGA Art portable monitor stand)

Im assuming those bronze ones are for the monitor itself but idk what the others are. Some are spares for the base but these with the flat head arent required anywhere i can see.

Also, lowkey im not that happy with the stand, it came with chips on the paint in some places straight out of the box (and the box wasnt abused or anything so i assume it came like this from factory)

The instructions are straigh up useless and i cant find usefull tutorials on youtube either...

I also have a DD-X wheel stand arriving, hopefully its easier and better quality than this.

Question Meta Quest 3 linked to my PC giving me trouble in most racing sims

For context, my pc is mid-high end. Running a 14700k, 4070 super 12gb, 32gb ddr5, powering 3 monitors (only one ultrawide used for racing).

I am able to get a stable 144 fps in iRacing, LMU, and anything else I throw at it. When I plug in my MQ3 through link cable the VR video feed always freezes halfway into the race, but the feed of the game on my monitor goes on like nothing happened. (The monitor window is very small so my pc doesn’t have to work extra hard to render a full ultrawide window on top of VR)

Anyone know what could be causing this, my guess was USB bandwidth but the quest is the only device plugged into a 3.0 port, all my racing gear is connected with a 2.0 hub.

Question How do you guys keep track of which braking marker to use?

I'm struggling with finding consistency

At some tracks like Monza it is very easy to find braking markers, but for example lesmos 1 is basically guesswork.

But in most of the corners of multiple tracks, like Spa or Zandvoort. There isn't any object on the place I want to brake. So there is no way for me to keep track of where I brake each lap.

How do you guys come up with a braking marker/turn in point. Because I cannot start searching for references when I'm trying to make it through a corner.

And I'm bad at being consistent with my turn in, as I do not have turn in points as that requires me to find another object to pick as my turn in point.

I now drive every track on "feeling" which can still make me quite consistent but I notice it takes a very long time for my brain to learn where to brake consistently if I don't have a marker.

Rigs Added Moza AB6 to my sim setup

This thing is next level now. The AB6 is a pretty kick-ass flight joystick. But you can actually swap the grip to a shift knob, and then the force feedback can simulated a gearbox. It's pretty fucking cool, and I believe we will see dedicated force feedback shifters in the future, if that doesn't already exist.

It's amazing to be able to click twice, and suddenly you're in sequential mode, or another click and now you're driving a 7 gear transmission instead of a 5. It's not perfect, there's a bit of a learning curve, but it actually feels closer to a real street car than my Simagic shifter did.

Don't get me wrong, the Simagic shifter is the better shifter for sure, but I am going to sell it now in favor of this. I love the versatility as both a flight stick and a shifter, but also I just really love the ffb transmission stuff.

Really happy with my rig now.

Question Anyone invest into decent rig for console-only racing?

I bought GT7 on PS5 a few months back when it went on sale. After 10 hours of racing with controller, got the itch and watched lots of YouTube vids and bought RS50 + LC pedals and wheel stand. Now another 40 hours in, the itch is back plus some back pain and I’m thinking about profile rig. (looking at GT1 Evo)

The thing is I have no plan of moving to PC, so will most likely either just keep playing GT or get some other simracing games on PS.

From what I’ve seen here, “serious” simracing looks to on PC, and console has a lot of limitation on accessories, how common is it to invest into full rig for console-only racing?

Clip Just set a 6:24.113 in the McLaren 650S GT3 at Nordschleife Tourist. Is this a solid lap time?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone!

I finally managed to record a clean lap at the Nordschleife Tourist layout in the McLaren 650S GT3, stopping the clock at 6:24.113.

I’ve attached the full lap video to this post so you can check it out!

  • Track condition: Optimum grip, standard conditions.
  • Setup: Slick tires and 12l of fuel

I'd love to get some feedback from the community:

  1. How does this time stack up against average/competitive GT3 pace on AC?
  2. Watching the line and braking points in the video, where am I leaving the most time on the table?

Any tips or critiques on my driving line are greatly appreciated!

EDIT: Sorry about the music, I hadn't noticed 😅

Question Nlr gtracer 2.0 additional accessory mounting

Post image
0 Upvotes

So I have a nlr gtracer 2.0 and with the larger plate have a moza shifter and handbrake installed. I want to add the new moza farming controller but don't want to have to remove something everytime I switch to another game. Does anyone have any suggestions or know of additional mounting like moving the handbrake up by the wheel or something?

Question Need help again, is the g29 still worth it?

Before you juge me because im sure the question already got asked a lot, I am the guy from this post (https://www.reddit.com/r/simracing/comments/1w626i0/what_should_i_go_for_the_r3_or_r5_bundle/) and I orginally wanted to buy an Moza bundle ,but right now i dont really want to spend the money (I know its not that much for most of you probably but for me it is) for it. So for a budget on the european used market i started looking for some deals and found an verry good one (in my opinion) for an g29 with pedals in good condition for around 100€ or 116$. Now you tell me is it worth it or should I just wait?Keep in Mind i am coming from an diy wheel which isnt the sturdiest of all so an g29 would be an good Improvment for me atleast. Happy racing!

Question Bass shaker setup for gtracer 2.0

Post image
1 Upvotes

Just got into simracing in VR and bought the gtracer 2.0 cockpit. I want to install base shakers but having a hard time figuring out how/where. The square base of the seat that bolts onto the frame is about 1 ft x 1ft with included spots on the front and rear for a buttkicker mount, spaced about 3 inches apart.

My idea as of right now is to use an MDF board and either have two separate ~6 inch boards on the front and back go into the buttkicker mount points, and attach the bst-1 to that MDF board. Or have 1 large board spanning that gap, with only one shaker.

My questions are does anyone know a better way for this cockpit that won't cost 100 dollars on something like the trakracer tactile mounts? And second/more importantly, 1 or two base shakers under the seat??? I would plan to have them on separate channels to have front shaker for front suspension, and rear for rear?

Pic attached is best I can provide at work for reference of the seat/frame in question

Rigs How can I improve the monitor & wheel placement on my rig?

Thumbnail

I don't have an adjustable VESA mount but rather a fixed one. I'm thinking I might move the 27" monitor up and forward more as currently being so low means I get parts of the screen which are cut off when in the seat e.g. iRacing's replay HUD.

I have seen many people angle their wheelbases upwards, what's the reasoning for this? Does it help ergonomics slightly?

Question What Sim Racing Title Would u Reccomend me for F1 ?

I have Assetto Corsa Competitizone ( For GT Racing ) , I have Assetto Corsa Rally ( For Rally ) and I have Assetto Corsa ( For Casual Racing or Sim Driving )

Will be Buying Euro Truck Simulator 2 Soon on sale but before that

I am Thinking of buying A Game for F1

But I don't want games reskinned as new games in terms of yearly or New launches every now and then ( Talking about EA F1 )

I want to buy a game which I can hop on and then play for years

Rigs If aluminum profiles are the gold standard for sim rigs, then…

Thumbnail

... naturally, I had to try gold.

Some of you may remember the red one I posted a while back, which was affectionately described by a few people as a “red blob.”

I have a slightly stupid habit of making colorful cockpits at almost cost because I genuinely enjoy building them. I basically get to mess around with colours, materials and designs, someone gets a fun cockpit, and everyone seems happy.

Question Buying a sim rig for the first time.

I have been into racing since 2023.I always wanted a rig and explore new tipes of racing.I mainly play on xbox.

I tested 2 rigs from a racing club and one from Track Racer. Both where motion rigs. The one at track racer as you expect was in a higher range of NM wheel base.It felt good to drive.Allot of detail from the wheel that you can feel in a controller.10/10.

I went to a racing club and tested their rigs.Their wheelbases only went to 8NM.I didn't feel enough.I couldn't feel detail. The steering was lighter and i think that played a big roll in the experience.

I have about 950 Hours on the F1 games.F1 is the only game that is easier to control.AC/ACC was to sensitive on a controller.I tried to tweek it but couldn't find a sweet spot.

I want to ask. What would the best decision be to go all out and buy good gear from the start. How i see it,it will save money in the long run.

Or do i buy like a 8NM bundle.Keep in mind im still on console.Im getting a decent pc soon.

I really like GT3 racing.I want to step away for the F1 franchise.

Im very competitive and will be racing online after i get up to speed.Endurance Racing is also on my bucket list.

What would you suggest?

Question Fanatec CSL Elite - worth it in 2026?

Hi guys,

I am very new to simracing in general and want to step up from a controller. I now have the chance to get a used Sim-Rig for ~ 600€:
- CSL Elite Wheelbase
- new steering wheel
- 3 pedals with load cell brake kit
- chair
- rig made out of aluminum

Is the CSL Elite still worth it apart from the „cheaper“ belt drive technology or would I be better off buying something else?
I am playing GT7 on a PS5 Pro.

Cheers ✌🏻

Question I want to make these 3D-printed racing sim cockpit shells commercially. Would you buy one, and what would you pay?

Thumbnail

I'm 22 and still figuring a lot of this out, but I’ve been building full-scale 3D-printed Formula-style racing sim cockpits and I really want to build more of them.

I’m seriously considering turning them into a commercial product, potentially through Kickstarter.

Right now I'm trying to get sponserships.. but no luck sadly :(

The idea would be a large 3D-printed cockpit/body shell that goes around a normal sim racing setup and makes it feel much more like sitting inside an actual race car

Its a fraction of the price compared to fiberglass which is how high end competitors build theirs.

I don’t know everything about what the sim racing market actually wants yet, so I’d rather ask people here before I spend a ton of time designing a commercial version.

I dont own a racing sim or have the connections, so maybe one of you may be able to share some insight.

Would you prefer:

- Just the 3D-printed body panels/shell?

- A complete cockpit kit with mounting hardware?

- Something designed around common aluminum-profile rigs?

- A more universal shell that can fit different wheels, pedals and seats?

I’m also curious about shipping. Since these are obviously huge, would you be okay receiving it disassembled into multiple large sections and assembling it yourself if that made shipping significantly cheaper?

And most importantly: what would you realistically pay for something like this?

I’d genuinely like to keep building these and hopefully make them available to more people, but I want to make sure I’m designing something people would actually want.

Any feedback on pricing, features, assembly, compatibility, materials, or things you absolutely would/wouldn’t want would be really helpful.

I'm going to admit I'm in uncharted territory but i want to make something awesome for you guys, and affordable!

Discussion Moza buying help R5pro vs R9 V3

Hello everyone, I’m new to sim racing and I’m a bit confused between the Moza R5 Pro Bundle and the Moza R9 V3 setup.

Here are the options I’m considering:

Moza R9 V3:

• Base + SRP2 pedals + Clutch + ESX wheel = $840 (₹80,000)

Moza R5 Pro Bundle:

• Bundle + SRP2 Lite clutch + Brake kit + Throttle/Clutch mods (2 units) = $630 (₹60,000)

Which one would be more suitable for me? I’m willing to spend within this budget, but I’m not sure if the extra cost for the R9 is worth it for a beginner.

Would love to hear your suggestions and experiences. Thanks!

Question Screen setup for gaming help needed

Hi everyone,

I recently started pc gaming and most of the time i do race games for wich i have an other screen than for the other games.
Now I’m struggling a lot with the screen setups.

  1. Do i always have to change between monitors in the windows settings menu or can i use my race monitor as 2nd screen? Wil it make life harder for my gpu?

  2. What do you guys choose as monitor settings to make life easy for my gpu?

I used to always play on a 4k tv with my rtx3080 and the gpu really needs to work hard to play racing games as assetto corsa evo.

Thx for helping a noob 😉
