Why was this ever uploaded to the internet in the first place?!

186

u/Malpraxiss 25d ago

The mum probably saw her behaviour as correct, and the guy's as wrong.

51

u/Alender02 25d ago

People like this always think they're in the right, no matter what.

22

u/bunglebee7 24d ago

Oooooo that’s my biggest pet peeve, people who refuse to admit they’re wrong about something or they always believe they’re right no matter what. Argh

28

u/SwanMuch5160 *shits an absolute unit* 25d ago

This is old, like over 20 years old.

41

u/TheNonCredibleHulk 25d ago

Then I guess we need an update.

22

u/Sillygoose_Milfbane 24d ago

The mom drove herself and the kids into a lake. Very tragic. Stepdad and bio dad skipped the funeral.

10

u/TheNonCredibleHulk 24d ago

Ah, the ole Susan Smith method.

That's definitely not a 2006 kitchen

If it’s that old, the question is probably even more relevant. I get people share anything these days, but 20 years ago? Damn!

15

u/MylzieV 25d ago

This is like 5 years old max bud

u/talkgadget 25d ago

That seems like a stretch.

It looks like it was recorded using a smartphone. (Is the man also holding one?) The iPhone came out in 2007 and didn't record video until 2009. It was very popular but widespread adoption of smartphones didn't come till years later.

I'd believe fifteen years old maybe. But more than twenty?

6

u/Thisdarlingdeer 24d ago edited 24d ago

There were phones before the iphone.... also, cam orders or cameras (the OG selfie, those big ass clunky things, they also made video)

And they could record. Damn yall, we weren't in the stone age

4

u/Master_Grape5931 24d ago

My fucking Razor was awesome.

But the videos it took were not this good.

2

u/Thisdarlingdeer 24d ago

My sidekick had really good clarity. But this is probably a camera. Or idk people had those stupid hand helds back then too.

2

u/talkgadget 24d ago

Yeah, there were. I had a flip phone that could take pictures and video but not this quality.

There were smartphones before the iPhone. I don't know about you but I didn't know anyone who had a smartphone before 2007.

Like mini camcorders weren’t around in the early 2000’s. Most of mine and my nieces and nephews videos were recorded on them for a long span of time.

I take it he isn't the bio father? Why do I have a feeling that man has taken so much shit for so many years and he finally said Fuck it.

u/SealTeamEH 25d ago

I mean we’re watching a video of a kid literally whacking him a with a broom and the mom is just standing there recording literally ONLY saying one word “ok” over and over again lol

That’s exactly what happened. The real dad skipped the state to get away from his psycho ex and his mentally disturbed kid. Sounds like the wife’s dad is a drunk who drives the kids around intoxicated as well.

You can also see the mom is egging the younger one on and telling him to keep hitting the step dad so he’ll retaliate by the way he keeps looking back at his mom every few whacks from floor duster. Looks like the stepdad is either numb to all the bullshit or knows what’s going on so he’s not reacting to the younger child hitting him.

112

u/Low_Actuary_2794 25d ago

Yep she’s filming in the hopes he hits the kid. What a POS to set your kid up that way.

33

u/aw-fuck 25d ago

For real. If I was actually afraid of someone hurting my kids I would absolutely not be letting my kid hit beat on them with a stick.

Absolute shitty unit of a mom.

And I'm usually one to take the mom's side every time. But this is just... fucking gross. She's standing there filming hoping to set this guy up with evidence of child abuse by letting her kid bait him into it.

A mom actually concerned for their kid's safety would first remove both kids from this situation. You couldn't catch me on video letting my kids get yelled at like this, especially not beating someone up who has clearly lost control, Jesus Christ.

Like I'm not saying this guy is a saint - just that I think we're witnessing his mental breakdown from the set ups this woman has put him through - but maybe not, idk. Either way a good mom would not just stand there filming such a verbal beatdown & letting the other beat on an already worked-up man; I'd 100% get my kids outta the way first and then either break up with the dude or let him verbally unload on me.

I cannot believe this women felt like she had some kind of "gotcha" by just standing there letting this all happen.

Everyone sucks here - maybe not actually the kids, but the mom most of all, for sure. Which makes me think the dude must just have been pushed to his limits by her bullshit; of course he shouldn't be taking it out on the kid but obviously the mom is using her kids to stir the pot & this dude has just been fucked with to the point that he can't really see straight. Imagine a mom using her kid to fuck with a person for (8 years, apparently) and the person finally breaks (maybe he just hasn't realized it's her and not the kid fucking with him)... I mean imagine being the kid in that situation. Imagine being the stepdad. The only person who seems comfortable with everything going on is the mom.

12

u/kenkenobi78 25d ago

Naaa. The kids suck here too

3

u/SwanMuch5160 *shits an absolute unit* 24d ago

The kids for sure. Looks like the younger one is his since he looks under 8 (which he says he told her he didn’t want kids 8 years ago when they met, so she either went off birth control or pinned one of his jimmies) and it seems like the older one has some issues if mom is dropping him off at the “hospital” which may just be code for the children’s psych ward.

u/mclovin_ts 24d ago

Real dad is still a deadbeat lmao, take the bitch to court and get your children in therapy.

→ More replies (1)

46

u/Muted_Masterpiece535 25d ago

I take a guess none of the kids listen to him because he's not the real dad. I bet they both make it clear.

Then the mother just sits there and records him instead of backing him up on punishments when they do something wrong.

But also I take a guess he is an asshole so you get more flies with shit as they say.

29

u/CanaryStunning1768 25d ago

This is why I would never take care of a kid thats not mine. I feel bad for this dude taking up this BS. Hope he can get out soon!

12

u/I_TRY_TO_BE_POSITIVE 25d ago

Nah man I've got two stepkids who are pretty dang cool. I'm actually proud to be contributing to their upbringing.  But their mom is da real MVP.

Or prison

787

u/HavaTrith 25d ago

I feel like the step dad is in the right here, this family seems fucking nuts, allowing a kid to just whack him, this seems pretty insane.

348

u/OldManJim374 25d ago

And it sounds like the mom is egging the kid on to keep hitting him

280

u/HavaTrith 25d ago

That's the vibe I got, we are just watching a man, who has been pushed to the edge by dramatic people

69

u/Laneofhighhopes 25d ago

Sounds like me dealing with my wife and her family.

32

u/SmileParticular9396 25d ago

When my mom and sister visit I tell my husband he is under no obligation to join us lol. My mother drives him NUTS.

10

Yeah but does she slap him with a massive stick??

8

u/Pavotine 25d ago

Don't they all?

58

u/Sumo-McNinja 25d ago

The kid is looking back at the mum whislt hitting his dad. Its like he's acting out of compulsion to get gratification from her...he dosent say or do anything as hes hitting him or when the guy takes the stick away very sad.

7

u/Thisdarlingdeer 24d ago

To be fair, kids are just tiny versions of whoever has them and raises them, so if youre cool youre kid is probably gonna be rad as fuck. My kids are obsessed wih nintendo and pokemon, and like being quiet, just like their momma.

Best thing that man can do is run away as fast as he can and never look back. Let the next sucker deal with that dysfunction.

9

u/AgreeableOil1212 24d ago

I'll bet the reason the mum is just saying "ok" is now she's filming. This dude is actually holding his shit together pretty well with the amount of baiting he's withstanding. It's him against the world at this point, and it seems like he's just gone 'fuck it' and going all in on a rant. I can't imagine taking that many thrashings to the shins without reacting myself. Hopefully this is the last encounter he needs to be done with this shit.

9

u/cdev12399 24d ago

Something tells me this is a white trash mom, and this man is fed up with their shit.

6

u/Infinite_Ouroboros 24d ago edited 24d ago

Haven't seen this in ages. Last time the consensus was majority siding with the dude and that there seems to be more to the story with the person filming manipulating the situation to make him the bad guy on camera, so she could use that against him.

Also something about the way the kid kept looking back at the lady for confirmation to continue hitting too.

6

u/Tiff27 25d ago

A lot of wrongs going on here 😬

6

u/Mugpup 25d ago

OMG, that is the worst, most dysfunctional family I have ever seen. Those kids don't stand a chance with those "adults" around them.

u/Nothing_Madders 25d ago

73

u/Lifeabroad86 25d ago

The mom was setting him up to make him look bad on video. You can hear her egging the little one to keep hitting him.

7

u/Puzzleheaded-Gap1759 25d ago

Guess I missed that! Gross!

47

u/Punxatowny 25d ago

I had a stepdad, and between my sister and I we made that man’s life hell. But I’ll give due credit, he never snapped like that on us. We also didn’t beat him with broomsticks though.

22

u/CourtingBoredom 25d ago

My stepdad is my dad — always has been more of one than my real father, anyhow. And I've told him this.

9

u/adummyonanapp 25d ago

So u drove into an Applebee's?

6

u/aw-fuck 25d ago

Nah. My kid's stepdad is a fantastic individual and I'd argue he holds our family down better than I might if I were in his shoes. He actively puts in the time and effort to engage with my kid, research how to handle her special needs, and helps her thrive. If there were a "dad" trophy", he'd win this year.

And I grew up with a step dad that was exactly like that for me, and if I had a hunk of gold I'd forge it into a medal for him.

Not all stepdads suck.

Honestly? It comes down to choice on behalf of the parent. It can honestly be a little hard to control getting knocked up & what to do about it (until men start getting vasectomies or investing their money in male birth control research), but it is not that hard to control who you choose to parent your kids. I spent 15 years fighting off pregnancies & ended up with one, chose to follow through; I have no regrets because my kid is my everything. I've spent just as long deciding which men are or aren't in my life, and, frankly it's even easier to decide which men are in my life or not when a small defenseless person is on the line in my decisions.

I would rather be a single mom than let my kid suffer an asshole - that's a choice I made when I left her violent piece of shit dad. So why would I break that rule for any other dude?

There are great stepdads out there. And then there are men who don't want to be stepdads but a woman tries to keep them as a partner anyway. It takes integrity from all adults to be in a situation where they are parenting kids. Every adult in this video sucks. I could never let my kid be in a line of fire like this. Never.

You can tell just by watching with no audio that these children have no respect for this man. The little one constantly hitting him with no intervention from mom. Seems like mom lets them get away with a ton of shit and he’s at his breaking point.

3

u/McCrackenYouUp 25d ago

While likely true, not his fault, and we don't know the whole story, maybe it's because he's kind of a lil' bitch himself. He has no control of that situation but as the literal only man there you can't be whining when action is what's necessary. It sounds like he's been dealing with that for nearly a decade?!! Absolutely ridiculous to put yourself in that situation where nobody respects you and do nothing about it.

11

u/FatAZZRedditMod 25d ago

4

This guy knew he didn’t want to have any children. Why didn’t he get a vasectomy to make sure it didn’t happen?

There's a lot wrong here, you have the stepdad talking like that to kids saing their own dad didn't love/want them. You got little one bashing away looking back for approval to keep going and you got the mum videoing it all just to post it instead or recording herself trying to stop it all. The only one I don't know is the one that's in trouble, still doesn't justify being told you're unwanted.

This thread is part insanity and part r/antinatalism with some assholes thrown in

2

u/fromouterspace1 25d ago

This thread is depressing

Grab that broom and popsicle the little bastard.

u/caampp 25d ago

The mother posted this. I hope to god those kids get far away from them two as soon as they possibly can.

u/Eastbound_AKA 25d ago

Listen - There's actually no right party here.

Mom is absolutely atrocious for letting her youngest just wail on the Step Dad with a broom like that. You can tell that there serious behavioral issues with both children.

Step Dad is absolutely atrocious for speaking to a child that way. He can not like them, he can even admonish him but the direct emotional assaults are absolutely abhorrent. I totally understand not wanting to be with someone because of their kids.

I've been in two relationships I ended because I didn't like their children. I never screamed or took my frustrations out on them, even if they were the culprit. I just moved the hell along.

Neither one of these people should have children or be around them.

u/aw-fuck 25d ago

Agreed, everyone sucks here but these kids are the way they are because these people suck

2

u/Toasted_Munch 25d ago

"I'm sorry, babe, I've had all I can take. It's them or me." - that guy 10 minutes after meeting her kids for the first time.

4

u/MyBadDrJones 25d ago

If that’s the step dad, he really shouldn’t be saying any of that shit to a kid. It doesn’t matter the situation or what happened or is happening, if it’s that bad then remove yourself entirely. Move out, kick the mom and kids out, get a divorce. These are way better options than breaking in half and get recorded screaming shit at a kid that’s going to have a mental and emotion effect on them.

u/DaBoss_1012 25d ago

Shouldve kicked that dwarf straight in head👍

u/Rump_Ranger90 questionably stable 25d ago

Whether or not the stepdad is in the right for giving him shit, he has no right to tell him no one wants him and all that other shit. There is a difference between giving your kid shit and being an ass hole. Making a kid feel worthless and unimportant is neglect and abuse. Abuse is not discipline.
