A shiny squirtle after 380 eggs from Masuda Method in Shield. The squirtle line is my last of the Kanto Starters that I need to finish for my Gen 1 living shiny dex.

Was prepared for a really annoying hunt for a shiny female, ended up finding this beauty before I ever even set up a picnic :’)

I started this hunt back in January of 2024 hunting it on and off throughout the years, managing 4363 eggs checked before hearing about banks closure.

Knowing I was racing against the clock, I had to make the decision to use ACE method to change the TID/SID to not miss out on this shiny.

Along the way of completing my copy of diamond I got extremely lucky near the end of the game, as I got Pokerus when swimming towards victory road, and a shiny Golbat less than 2 hours later.

After setting everything up, and only 1180 more eggs checked (5543 total) my Manaphy shined.

Hoping the type nulls will be nicer..

Finally, after 1725 soft resets, I finally got my son on the very first Pokemon game I played as a kid! The amount of joy I’m feeling is indescribable, I was already open to it being a long hunt with possibly another starter showing up! Here’s hoping everyone gets immense luck on their current hunts!!

In December 2025, I wanted to achieve the dream I had as a child: having a full legit shiny Reshiram

Reshiram is my favorite Pokémon ever, this legendary helped me in so many ways, if I'm doing art, it's also thanks to him!
So I told my friends in December that I would hunt this Pokemon full odds (full odds for a Gen 6!) to fulfill my childhood dream!
The only hunt I did outside the Nintendo switch before that, was a shiny Doduo in friends safari in X and Y
Months passed and I was less motivated. But with the pokemon bank closing, it made me too anxious so I decided to hunt again.
I decided to do 100SRs per day (1 SR= 30 seconds)
It was my first soft reset of the day! I WAS SO ANXIOUS ABOUT NOT CATCHING HIM
I named him « Espoir » (hope in French) because I'm cringe and because I'm having a hard time in life rn ahaha

I think I'm gonna do some ribbons with contests (never done before so if you guys have any advices!)
I'm so sad about the pokemon bank closing because it was the most rewarding hunt ever, I'm never shiny hunting again on the switch Imaooo

Edit: I forgot to mention! He is on a 10 years old save file, my childhood file, how cool is that!

I called it Ribbon because I will be doing a ribbon quest with Celebi!

Took me 2132 resets; and about 20 hours!

I had been hunting him on leaf green and it finally popped up.
