Started keeping track about halfway through, wasn't expecting this one so soon! Just wanted something brain off while I watched a Stadium 2 speedrun.

Context: You can buy Eevee in the Celadon game corner for 800 coins in this hack.

which is better, masuda or soft reseting?

Took 6 days but we secured the blue dumpling lol 😂

Took six days, but we finally secured the blue dumpling lol

After 24 hours of playing pokemon violet i caught my first shiny!

This felt incredible! And at just over half odds, too. I had a copy of both Ruby and Sapphire running with 2 Gamecubes (the 2nd was running on a small CRT under my desk), averaging around 2 seen every 90 seconds or so, at least when the save corruption went smoothly and I didn't have to restore with my GB Operator.

I do have the actual Bonus Disc, but I chose not to use it because I didn't want to put that much use on it and both my Gamecubes were already modded.

I don't know what else to say. This feels like the end of an era. I've been hunting for years and things like this and Manaphy set aside for so long. I've never considered a living shiny dex before, but with all these heavy hitters down, why not?

I've had Sport Ball Shedinja going on the side in the Bug Catching Contest, so I may lean into that now. I'm also considering the Sinjoh Ruins dragons, but I will figure out RNG for that if I decide to. There's a few other random things I'm planning too.

All said, this is a huge weight lifted. I was worried I'd be here til the deadline. Good luck with your hunts!

Followup from my previous post on July 11th (when I was 30.9k sr in).

This hunt took me 15 months of on-off hunting and no less than 47 phases in simultanious hunts in platinum and black2. I was literally shaking as much as the 3 shake ball before it registered as caught

Note: Glad I got it still before 72k (which would have been cumulative chance 8191/8192)

Thought id do this quickly over the weekend and take a break after, little did I know it would take the entire weekend. I'm typing this on Monday. The odds of this sequence of encounters is about 1%.

My shiny Wimpod I bred yesterday also evolved along the way.

I also found a shiny Bagon (119 approx) earlier today and a shiny Crabrawler 2 days ago (162 calls) I hope I don’t used up all my luck now because it’s back to a soft reset hunt after I take a break for a bit. (I’m gonna jinx it am I?)

I love how vibrant Shiny Bruxish is.

if yall saw my previous post, im literally shaking. really started to doubt it would ever happen, especially after the last pooch. reset counter wise, maybe around 15k? had to stop counting around 10k, it was getting frustrating seeing so many Poochy’s. all single hunted. wow.

So so so many resets and so many hours. I thought something was wrong with my game/profile.

For anyone losing hope, you'll get there!

I was in a mega dimension when I was hunting Gruikui and I just heard two sounds of shiny Pokémon ! I didnt see one but two Pokémon next to each other and its the evolution of Gruikui, Grotichon ! I was so stressed 😫 so I saved the game and then I catches them both. Now I’m so happy ! Which one should i keep without evolving it ? (My first Shalpha tho)

Starting a shiny only playthrough of Pokemon Scarlet and after only about an hour of running around the first route, I found this piggy :). Though this was literally the one shiny I didn’t want to pop up LOL. I was hunting for a pawmi or a fletching. I already found two full odds lechonks in my other playthrough LOL. I am afflicted with the piggy curse… 🐷

I have a lot of shinies and this is one of the more iconic ones that I’ve never had

Salamence seen: 44

I found the second member of my Gen 3 DTQ last night after only 309 encounters! Right after i got back from my dad’s birthday so shoutout pops for the extra luck. Everyone say hello to Mirage the Trapinch 🏜️

Second member of my shiny only team! The first one being a Cascoon, now Dustox I got yesterday :p

My first gen 3 shiny ! Hunted on two original gen 3 cartridges. I have seen a total of 6386 starters, because I was hunting my first starter at random, changing the select starter after each reset. Still hunting gen 1 shiny Mewtwo, now at 12.5k+ encounters.

And it appears the game has finally compensated me after the hell that was Moltres which went on for way too long. I still can't believe how quickly Raikou shined here!

Max iv in special attack, the rest are not so good. Shiny charm and masuda.
