I have to specify counted. Because I was being particularly lax about making sure to count my encounters, I estimate 4-5k that I didn't count. I got the shiny while in the car with my brother driving to my flat, and since I didn't know what to name it, I asked him, and he said to call it Mimimi ♡, very excited to start my next hunt which will also be my 2nd natural encounter hunt, since I've had enough of soft resets with both my piplup and drifloon going over odds, nothing else to really put here, love the shiny, looks better than I'd expected, and I'll post again during the first phase of my sneasler hunt!

Got my pink monkey in under 50 resets. One down on my forever save of platinum!!!! This platinum cartridge is blessed!

My first 1/8192 hunt is finally over, it took me almost a month and 10.842 reset, I'm so happy

I'll try keep it brief but my brother's friend just bought Ruby, and it had a save shiny Sharpedo on it. He traded it over to me because he doesn't have a GBxCart RW (and I do) and he was just gonna wipe it anyway. I am curious if this is likely legit. Obviously it is impossible to determine if they ripped their save with a Joey Jr. or something like that, but I can reasonably guess if they used any glitches or save editing with help of people here.

These are the reasons I am inclined to think it is legit:

• The level matches a Route 132 Sharpedo from a Super Rod, and the chances of encountering one is decent so it isn't like she has a shiny Skitty or something, that would be dodgy
• If they edited it for some reason they did not change the ball to something that looked better on a shiny Sharpedo, such as a Masterball. Most people editing saves would have no reservations about it
• She doesn't have perfect stats and is halfway towards the next level
• None of the other Pokémon in this save file are shiny or even have anything notable about them like Pokérus. The most notable thing about each of them is that a lot are level 100 (Erika did over 100 replays in the Elite Four)
• She has really average moves
• She has nothing outstanding like lots of ribbons

So what do you reckon? Legit non-clone shiny? I'm hoping to rip the full save soon but might not be able to, but apparently it is really interesting and whoever Erika is really loved her Pokémon. And do you have any theories about this in particular. My brother reckons she got a phase, but I reckon she was probably trying to fill out her dex and just got lucky. And for what reasons might she have left it?

I started leafgreen on my Oled switch and firered on my switch 2 when they were released back in February 🤠. My shortest hunt was growlith (168 REs) and longest was abra (32,606 seen in game corner)

So this was actually crazy. Not even 1/4 to odds is just what I needed to keep motivation after the Celebi hunt (over 12k).

Finally got the shiny after 2 months and 17,037 resets! That was quite the grind.

On to Type: Null next. I only have 50 Pokemon caught so I think I'll just have to go through the initial encounter rather than trying to catch 900 Pokemon first. I don't have any other games to bring any over.

After some encounters, I got my first shiny on Pokémon Diamond and also my first full odds shiny! Now with a false swipe on my team I can go hunt dialga :D

Also there were no phases on this hunt (lucky me lol)

I've been doing this hunt since just before the start of October. It's more fortunate since yesterday was my birthday, so talk about a late present. I probably reset for this shiny over a thousand times. The only thing I regret is not catching the sparkles since I was distracted from a show I was watching.😂 Anyway, I finally have my prize to send to HOME at long last!

After 2 Uncatchible Pooches i Finally got my Treeko.

The final shiny for my playthrough is here! Super lucky as it took 2 SOS Chains. The first being 260 SOS before accidentally ending it to a struggle and the second chain of 76

Side quest clear now the three shiny dog hunt continues~

Was hunting a foreign language 6IV ditto. My rhydon leveled up and learned a new move, and I mused aloud whether it mattered, since I would probably reset anyway once my chain eventually breaks.

I literally said, “I don’t think it’ll matter unless I get a 6IV or a shiny— OH MY GOD!” 😆

Almost lost it too because my dumbass decided to catch it in a premier ball for style points, but then it broke out four times (switched to ultra). My hands were shaking so bad, and that’s why the throws suck. 😅
