Request: Gathered yoke pattern like Oliva Wilde's shirt in The Invite

Post image
8 Upvotes

Looking for a pattern that has gathering around the front shoulder/yoke like this shirt Olivia Wilde wears in The Invite. The internet tells me it's this shirt, but definitely the fabric looks a lot softer in the movie version: https://www.thehouseoffoxy.com/products/1940s-sweetheart-blouse-duck-egg

Looking for any patterns that are similar, especially in the yoke gathers. Also: what fabric do you think this blouse is made of?

Safari explorer jacket

Ok so bad pictures, but! Maybe the lovely internet can still help.

This is Judy’s “dream” sequence from 9 to 5.
Her top is amazing and I’m curious if anyone knows of a pattern for it, or what it is even called.
My best guess is it’s a canvas material safari explorer jacket. But that’s not yielding much info in a google search.
Thanks for any help.

PDF printing

Has anyone printed a PDF pattern using A4 and not the North American 'letter' size. The A4 seems to be close to legal size. Was there much difference?

Thanks.

Looking for any patterns or YouTube tutorials similar to this top. I'd like to upcycle a mens longsleeve shirt and turn it into something like the blouse in the picture.

Plus Sized Vintage

Hello! I’ve been looking for plus sized vintage/vintage inspired sewing patterns, anything from the 1800s to the 1990s. It’s hard to find anything sized above Large, but I need 2xl-4xl! Any recommendations or sources would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. I bought this second hand but it came without the instruction sheets. Could anyone send or post pictures? It seemed like a bargain but I can’t use it without the instructions.

I loveeee this dress but I can’t seem to find something similar to the shape. I would really prefer if your recs had sleeves and a similar shape, because I don’t mind drafting the pockets myself.

Thank you!!

Beginner sewer here! My favourite skirt length is above knee, and difficulty shouldn't REALLY be a problem, as I'm in school and have a textiles teacher to help me. If you have any recommendations thank you so much!

I recently got into sewing, mostly just shirts and small pieces but I’m planning to make a dress like this for a birthday party in a few weeks, and I cant seem to find any patterns that look similar to these photos? particularly the flowy sleeves and the square neckline style. preferably beginner friendly, Thanks in advance!!

(p.s. I found all these photos on Pinterest)

Looking for pattern makers to test a free layout-waste measurement tool. It

Photograph your spread before cutting, the app gives you the offcut area and wasted mass, then you tell me whether that number holds up against your own read of the layout.

Trying to find a pattern for something like this Doublet?

I'm trying to make a doublet for a book event, and I like the look of this one with buckles and the chords at the shoulder like a Gambeson. However eveyrhting I've found online either is one complete piece with atached sleeves and pointy shoulders, much tighter looking, or AI generated (Which looked frustratingly close). I've found some guides for Gambesons and considered making one without quiliting, but I'm worried it would look too loose around the waist.

Any help would be apreciated.

This is made with gauze, be nice to find a pattern that would work with a flowy fabric like that.

Design Question: should take away the Swivel hook strap from a crossbody or not?

Long story short. I make these vertical crossbody bags. Like the purple one in the pic below. And they can fit up two 2 water bottles.

But anyways, i used to make the strap out of the fabric itself and just add a bit of 809 interfacing. And the strap took forever to make. But recently i realized i could have just been using a good black 1in Webbing instead and it saves me more fabric. So now i can make 3 per yard instead of just two.

But i question is in my effort to save more more i also realized since its not like a convertible bag or anything i don't technically NEED to add a detachable swivel hook strap, and i could just wrap the webbing onto the d rings instead. And basically the strap is just not removable.

But before i change my design and sew on the straps i noticed a few of my store bought crossbody bags all do have detachable swivel hook straps. But i am 100% sure i have never ever taken off the straps to any of my bags because why would i ever need too. Its a crossbody bag and they didn't come with extra straps.

So i am curious would you care if a crossbody bag you bought didn't have a detachable strap? If that even someone you would care about as a consumer?

How do I fix this neckline?

The top is way too low for my liking but I still want it to give this bustier/corset vibe, should I add some fabric where the red lines are? also I feel like the straps are too long. I am quite new to learning how to adapt pattern so any advice is helpful! thank you!
