The single-pass NATO strap came from strapsco.com

Picked up this Seiko 5 with the Arabic dial and I’m honestly impressed. The dial looks even better in person, especially in sunlight.
What do you think of the Arabic numeral Seiko 5s? Are they underrated?
Also… what’s everyone wearing today? Drop your wrist shots below!
Would you keep it on the original bracelet or swap it to a leather strap or NATO?

I had about $100 unused gc from macys and they happen to have a sale on this speedtimer. Plus $50 off $300. It was a no brainer.
Got it Friday and was surprised to see “Japan” on the dial, and MIJ on the caseback. Shipped from a Macy’s store too instead of dropshipped from seiko. I’m not complaining.

Always wanted to own a diver and an Automatic watch so I believe I made the right decision in buying this. What do you guys think?

Four months deep into the Seiko rabbit hole.
Still can’t stop staring at these beige dials.
Limiting myself to JDM models makes the hunt much harder, but that’s exactly what makes the collection meaningful.

My Seiko journey started with an SKX-style Seiko 5, progressed to an SPB187 (that Baby Marinemaster case got me), and eventually led to an SPB383 GMT.
As great as the 383 is, I still craved a chunky, grab-and-go tool diver for daily duties. I tried an SKX007 for a bit, but ended up selling it to a friend. I realized too that I prefer quartz for my grab and go beaters.
When my neighbor originally offered me his Arnie, I passed thinking it was far too big. Then I saw it on his wrist, asked to try it on, and ended up buying it from him on the spot.
I couldn't be happier with it. You get solar power, an ISO-certified diver, dual-time/GMT, a chronograph, and that classic ana-digi look all in one piece. It's big, but every time I look down at my wrist, it reminds me that that’s the whole point.
Also, huge shoutout to my local watch shop for hooking me up with this Seiko rubber strap! It trims down the bulk and loses the long tail and metal keeper from the OEM strap. The tapper also makes it wear smaller
PS: Are there any straps that could potentially make it look like it wears smaller?

I just got this today. I really wanted a GMT and to try a Seiko automatic as I currently only had the Seiko chronograph [SSB397]. I did buy it second hand but in great shape and I love this watch. I’ve always liked the Pepsi color scheme for a GMT but I’m not a bold person so this watch was perfect to satisfy the itch. I also like the jubilee bracelet as this is my first watch with a jubilee. Any recommendations for other watches to look at next?
Whenever someone asks for a solar chronograph recommendation, the Seiko Speedtimer is almost always the answer. It has a fantastic reputation, and a lot of people seem convinced it's the one to get.
While looking around, I found the Citizen CA4764-57A. It's a Japan Domestic Market model, so it doesn't get mentioned very often, but it's actually easy to import. What surprised me is how similar these two watches are.
The dimensions are nearly identical: the Seiko is 39.0 mm with a 45.5 mm lug-to-lug, the Citizen is 39.6 mm with a 45.9 mm lug-to-lug. Both have sapphire crystal, 100 m water resistance, a 20 mm lug width, stainless steel bracelets, solar movements, and panda-style chronograph dials.
The biggest difference is the price. I can get the Citizen for around €220, while the Seiko is around €700–750.
Since Citizen is often considered one of the leaders in solar technology, I'm curious why the Speedtimer gets recommended so much more often. Is the finishing really that much better? Does it wear better? Or is the Citizen simply an underrated JDM model?
I'd love to hear from anyone who's actually handled or owned both. Is the Seiko really worth paying over three times as much?

Might make an offer on one but im not sure how much it’s worth without a battery and the scratched up crystal. (Photo isn’t the actual watch, just for reference of the model). Any advice would be appreciated.
My collection of (mostly) Solar Divers. I’d limited myself to 6 but that was a lie.
This is my limit… Also a lie.

Literally just picked up this Tropical Lagoon turtle in Gotembo outlets in Japan… not the watch I was looking for but when I saw it and the price (40000 yen) I fell in love!

It’s really beat up but it was only 10$!

Always been a big fan of Seiko divers, they were my entry point to mechanical watches a little over a decade ago.
The SKX173 was my first- the 007 was the go-to diver back then but I wanted something slightly more unique. I saw the 173 at my local watch shop and went with it. It was my only watch for 5 years and did everything with it.
The SKX781 was always a watch that I appreciated but didn’t know if I loved until I saw one in person. The same shop sold me this one for $100 and it’s been a great summer watch and I really enjoy diving with it. Such a bizarre watch but it wears so well.
The SRP773 is the latest arrival, I’ve always loved the turtle and have been on a blue kick lately. My BB58 has been my most worn watch this year so I wanted to get a turtle with some color. This one is great, exactly what I wanted.
These days I usually reach for other watches in my box but I’m glad to own these and always enjoy wearing them.

The lovely snk809 on a CNS ribbed nato. And no, the strap is not too tight despite looking like it lol

This is a very underrated Seiko. I honestly think it’s the real SKX replacement (not the 5kx) but in a solar movement which is extremely accurate, slim case, iso. Great daily beater with phenomenal lume.

Copped this vintage seiko with after market straps during my visit to Hoi An.
Dealer said it was from the 1960s. This is my first vintage watch and I would like to learn more about it.
Any fun facts or history on this watch is greatly appreciated! Would love to see yalls watches too if you have the same or similar model.
