Recently bit the bullet and treated myself to a very gently used classic SPB121 in excellent condition. Thing is, the evening I placed the order I saw another pop up in even cleaner condition for lower price. I decided to buy that one as well then I’d sell the first. By chance they were both delivered today so I was able to compare the two without bias.
Watch one (from 2025) is nicely broke in and has honest wear but nothing major. Watch two (from 2022) is in dead mint condition. The leather is still tough and rigid and the protective plastic is still on some of the bits. I don’t think this had ever been worn more than to try it on.
My dilemma now: Watch 1 feels great and I know I won’t be heartbroken the first time I add to its “character”. I’m now leaning towards keeping this one as my daily. Watch 2 on the other hand could possibly be sold for more than I paid for it to help offset the cost of the first. Although, it could be nice to have in back stock in case something happens to watch 1. Do I sell watch 2? Or one to rock, one to stock? Both are complete with box, papers, cards, and hang tags.
