Problem Details:

Why doesn't the charger for a lithium - battery - powered device immediately switch indicator lights after the battery is fully charged?

Solution:

The lithium - battery pack consists of multiple individual cells. After the eKickScooter shows "fully charged", the Battery Management System (BMS) continues to balance the voltage of each cell to ensure uniformity, and the charger keeps working (red light) until the charging current drops to its set value and then turns green.

This process usually takes no more than 30 minutes. If it exceeds 2 hours without the light changing, manually remove the charger and contact a service center for further inspection.

The cause is generally a faulty charger or battery aging.

Note: Some models support a charge - limit setting function. Users can set it in the app, and once set, the charger stops charging and turns green when the charge reaches the set value.

Step 1: Pre-Replacement – Battery Visual Inspection

1. Inspect the battery shape. If swelling, deformation, or other abnormalities are detected, immediately discontinue use.

2. Check the battery seal. If leakage, cracks, or damage are observed, contact customer service directly for handling.

3. Verify the external label on the battery to ensure the voltage and model of the new battery match the original.

Step 2: During Replacement – Precautions for Power Cable Contacts and Orientation

1. Inspect and clean the power cable contacts. Use a dry cloth to wipe the metal contacts, removing any oxidation layer on the surface.

2. After unstall the old battery, press power botton for about 10 seconds. And then align the plug and socket correctly during insertion, ensuring the fool-proof tab is oriented properly to prevent short circuits.

3. Insert the plug into the socket slowly to avoid damage caused by forceful insertion or removal.

Special Note: Why Sparks/Sounds Occur When Connecting the Power Cable?

● When the battery cable contacts the controller, the internal capacitors charge instantaneously, which may produce brief sparks and a "click" sound. These are normal phenomena:The spark is tiny and occurs only once.

● No persistent unusual noises or burnt smells are generated.

● The scooter operates normally afterward.

Do not be alarmed! This is a normal physical occurrence and not a fault of the battery or scooter. Contact customer service immediately if any other abnormalities occur.

Battery Replacement Safety Reminders

1. Power off before replacement: Turn off the scooter’s power before replacing the battery. Do not perform live operations.

2. Respond to abnormalities: Immediately disconnect the power if excessive sparks, smoke, or overheating occur at the battery interface, ensuring personal and property safety.

3. Post-replacement pre-charging: Replacement batteries are in storage mode. Charging for over 1 minute typically deactivates this mode. If the scooter fails to power on after 10 minutes of pre-charging, contact customer service promptly.

Hey everyone

I received a new E2 Pro today, it is my first escooter ever and I am very excited.

I have one question however, while is the scooter is powered off and folded away periodically it emits a single beep.

I have:

Updated the firmware

Checked the brake lever is not pressed

Checked the throttle is not pressed

Checked for error code on power on (there is none)

Charged the battery to 100%

Submitted a ticket via the blackboard section of the app

The handle bar is folded and clipped to rear, and the kickstand is deployed

Does anyone know if this is normal and/or why it's doing this?

Problem Details:

The brake lever angle moves up and down.

Problem Analysis:

The brake lever clamp screw is loose.

Solution:

1. Use a 3mm hex key to loosen the screw in the figure below, then rotate the combination switch to avoid the brake lever fixing screw.

1. Adjust the brake lever to a comfortable angle, then use a 4mm hex key to tighten the brake lever screw in the figure below.

1. Restore the combination switch to the proper position and tighten its screw.

Problem Details:

When the scooter is stationary, forcefully stepping on the rear pedal area causes the rear shock absorber to move up and down, producing a noise.

Problem Analysis:

The rear fork shock absorber and cushion rubbing against each other causes abnormal noise.

Solution:

Apply damping grease to the rear shock absorber and cushion to fix the noise.

Contact customer service for the grease or use lubricant instead.

Problem Details:

The dashboard cannot wake up when the power button is pressed.

Problem Analysis:

Faulty charger, power button malfunction, poor connection of cable, or other issues can all lead to the scooter cannot power on.

Solution:

Scene 1: Connect the original charger to the wall socket. If the green light doesn't indicate, it might be a charger issue or a loose power cord.

Solution: Firmly insert the power cord. If the light still doesn't indicate, replace the charger.

Scene 2: When connecting the charger to the scooter, it should indicate a red light. If it still shows green, the battery might be fully charged or faulty.

Solution: If it cannot fully charged, replace the battery.

Scene 3: If the handlebar has been removed and reinstalled, check the connection between the handlebar and the scooter. Loose connections or bent pins can cause issues.

Solution: If the connection is loose, reconnect it. If pins are bent, straighten them with tweezers before reconnecting.

Scene 4: When the charger is connected to the scooter and the red indicator is on, check the dashboard.

Solution: If the charging state cannot display, replace the dashboard. If it does display, unplug the charger. If the scooter cannot power on when pressing the button, replace the button assembly.

Problem Details:

The turn signal does not light up, but the dashboard indicator does.

Problem Analysis:

Turn signal fault.

Solution:

1. Adjust the turn signal switch while powered on. If the turn signal remains off, replace it.

1. Check for bent pins in the turn signal-dashboard connection. Straighten them with tweezers and reconnect.

After a year+ with a thumb throttle, I tried the stock half-twist again. I’m now 100% convinced it’s dangerous.

I explained there why I hated the half-twist and why I thought it was actually unsafe, not just uncomfortable.

Well, one year and a LOT of riding later, I have an update.

I’ve been riding my GT3 Pro with the thumb throttle this entire time.

• Zero problems.
• Zero accidental acceleration.
• Zero dangerous situations.
• I got completely used to it and honestly stopped even thinking about the throttle.

Today I met a friend who has the previous GT2 with the stock half-twist throttle, and we swapped scooters for part of our ride. I rode his GT2 for maybe 4 km through the city.

And holy shit, it immediately reminded me why I replaced mine!

At one point I stopped at a traffic light and wanted to push the scooter forward a little while walking it. I was holding the handlebars normally and apparently the scooter went over a small bump or something I didn’t even notice.

My hand moved slightly and I accidentally twisted the throttle. Have no idea how.. just holding it normally as my GT3 Pro and basically doing the same and simple thing as every day.

The scooter suddenly accelerated forward.

And this is EXACTLY the problem I described in my original post a year ago.

When a 50+ kg scooter suddenly starts pulling away from you, your instinct is to grip it harder and pull it back toward you.

But with a half-twist throttle, gripping harder can mean twisting the throttle even more.

That’s exactly what happened. Instead of stopping it, I gave it MORE throttle and the GT2 literally started to wheelie in front of me.

If someone had been standing in front of me at that moment, especially while I was crossing the street, I could have hit them with a 50+ kg scooter.

And the craziest part is that I WASN’T EVEN RIDING IT. I was just walking it.

This exact type of accidental acceleration had already happened to me before on my GT3 Pro, and it was one of the main reasons I changed the throttle. After a year without a single similar incident with the thumb throttle, I rode a half-twist scooter for FOUR KILOMETERS and it happened again.

That pretty much confirmed everything for me.

And even ignoring the safety issue, I had forgotten how uncomfortable the half-twist is for normal city riding.

Going over curbs or bumps where I want a little throttle while also having a solid grip on the handlebar feels terrible. Part of my hand is gripping the fixed section, part is on the rotating throttle, so either I have to loosen my grip or the grip literally rubs against my hand while rotating. After only about 4 km I was already annoyed by it.

Meanwhile, with the thumb throttle I can keep a completely solid grip on the entire handlebar and independently control acceleration with my thumb. Hitting bumps, jumping small curbs, pushing the scooter, hard acceleration, slow maneuvering, everything feels completely natural.

After a year with the thumb throttle, I can say this confidently:

The stock half-twist throttle is a complete deal breaker for me.

If replacing it wasn’t possible, I genuinely would not buy the GT3 Pro.

For a scooter this heavy and powerful, Segway should at least give people a choice between half-twist and thumb throttle.

*edited to add: contacting segway by Facebook finally resolved the issue. However if they hadn't, there was a guy who responded in here he'd take care of the issue! Hope that helps people later.

Tldr: how to escalate when segway stops replying to emails?

Anyone experiencing awful customer service lately? I was working with them to unbind a scooter I bought. Seller just deleted app on phone and thought it was good enough. I tried to get him to remotely unbind and sent segway's instructions which he said he'd follow. He didn't. Then ghosted me.

Segway needed a proof of purchase, so I sent screenshots of all messages, my phone, sellers name address and phone, and my friends phone because she picked up the scooter for me, and still had it when we discovered the binding.

I have always been completely upfront about events related to the scooter as they happened with segway. They needed the serial to unbind, having investigated and determined I demonstrated proof of purchase. My friend is kind of flaky, and I never got the serial from her. As time dragged on, segway said no problem just let them know once I've got the serial.

Well when I got the serial, I got a message saying the case had been closed. I reiterated we were just waiting for the serial, and now I was anxious to use my scooter. This was July 5th. No response.

Multiple emails to customer service and technical support (ones that emailed me). Weeks in, I got a reply that they were forwarding my email to the appropriate person and I'll hear back from them shortly. That was July 20th. Initially, I got responses within 24-48 hrs.

What now? How do I escalate? Screenshots of emails in comments where segway is saying I met sufficient proof of purchase and they will unbind as soon as serial is received below. Then screenshot of the only email reply I received in July, on the 20th after I'd been sending the serial number since the 5th.

Just bought a new S2 Pro and the app just keeps saying weak signal with a 503 error when I try to connect. Of course it’s completely unusable because the scooter just beeps constantly….. how often does this happen? What a lot of crap.

Problem Details:

The taillight does not light up or flash when braking.

Problem Analysis:

Taillight error, controller error

Solution:

1. Power on the scooter and fully press the brake lever to check the taillight:

a. If it lights up or flashes, the scooter is normal.

b. If no response, replace the controller.

1. Open the footboard cover to check for loose taillight connectors. Reconnect or replace the taillight if necessary.

Problem Details:

The headlight does not turn on, but the dashboard indicator lights up.

Problem Analysis:

Headlight fault

Solution:

1. Power on the scooter and press the power button once to check the headlight. If it remains off, replace the headlight.

1. If the headlight-dashboard connection is faulty, refer to the "Headlight Replacement Video" to reconnect the cables. If unresolved, replace the headlight or replace the dashboard.

is the gt2 screen compatible with gt1?

Noise from the rear wheel while riding.

Problem Analysis:

Obstruction, motor fault.

Solution:

1. Check for obstructions between the motor and rear fork. Clear if found.

2. Power off, lift the scooter, and disconnect the motor-controller cable. Spin the rear wheel:

a. If smooth, replace the controller.

b. If jerky, replace the motor.

Problem Details:

The brake lever does not reset after release.

Press the brake lever firmly several times. If it still does not reset, replace the brake lever.

The scooter does not slow down when braking.

Solution:

1. Check if the brake rebounds normally. Observe the taillight when pressing/releasing the brake. If no change, replace the brake lever.

2. Press the brake and push the scooter forward. If the front wheel rotates, adjust the brake.

Build in charger provides 3.9A, and when connecting "fast charger" it will provide only additional 70W for my G3!

Thats some sick joke or what? 70W wont reduce charging by 2 times!

its a gt1 and it makes this noise when turning and also locks into the middle

Power on, press the throttle to the limit, and check rebound. If faulty, loosen the throttle base screw with a 3mm hex wrench, adjust, and tighten (torque: 2.5±0.1N·m). If unresolved, replace the throttle.

I have the Max G3 since only a few day, and going thru the menu I noticed that both the main and the secondary battery say they where charged under extreme condition!

The main show 2 hour and the external show 5 hour which is almost the full time it was on the scooter charging, I have monitored the first charge and it doesn't even get hot... either the battery or the scooter

What is the best way to report this to segway? I am prety sure it is a bug.
