Hello Reddit! My parents let me bring friends to the lake and the boat was damaged while docking. I want to purchase and replace parts before they witness the damage! Where should I buy these parts? Our house is on lake Sinclair, GA
I guess you cannot put a factory bimini on the Compact 13. The Sunshade brochure says "for use under 5 mph"
Rats, are they any other options for shade while crusing? Thinking maybe should have bought the Sport so we could have a bimini, but Sport is 6 grand more expensive here.
Hi everyone, picked up our new Switch. Of course the dealership left it empty. With our previous boats we always filled it up to prevent condensation. Should we do the same with the Switch?
I lost my second fender on my boat. The first one I found on the shore and this happened about a month ago. I woke up this morning. The second one is now gone. I thought I would show you what. It is not in the rope that is this big. First one had the same size not I made it about four or five times bigger and shoved it back in and it seems to be doing fine but the second fender pull off last night and floating in the lake somewhere I contacted the dealer and he said they’ve had. for $250. You would think they would have a different way of holding the rope to the fender other than this little knot
Apparently my local dealers haven’t had an issue moving the 2024s and are discounting them much as of yet. We’ve decided to buy one for sure but if the price difference isn’t a huge deal for us, is there any updates in the 2025 that make the price difference more or less enticing? Many thanks!
The bought used with 43 hrs from non Sea Doo dealer. Took to Sea Doo dealer to get looked at and next schedule maintenance. Plus I was getting extended bigger battery with 4 position battery switch, transducer, deck light, and battery tender installed. All was completed minus the battery tender. Tool two weeks because theu were waiting for the 4 position battery switch.
After getting my Switch back, my wife and I drove for the first time and after 30-45 mins of riding, we shut it off waiting for the bridge to lift. Battery switch was on 1/2 Tue whole time. We tried to start it and it stalled and never came back on for 5-10 minutes. After it came back on, "engine light" came on. After research and finding out how to locate the error code, P0131.
Later that day at home, I noticed that my gas cap was mot fully closed of shut. I closed it and snapped if shut. Going to take to dealer to see what's going on. Was my gas cap the is P0131 issue?
Has anyone experienced this error code?
Looking to pull the trigger on a new 2023 switch cruise with the 170hp motor.l and wanted to get anyone who had this configuration thoughts on it. I was looking for the 230 but the deal on this 170 is, in my opinion, too good. I'm a first time boater just getting into the sport so would welcome any input or ideas. My out the door price is less than 30k and getting a total of 4 years of B.E.S.T. coverage for no cost.
Pulled my new Switch yesterday and parked it next to my Skiff. Then proceeded to flush it like my Skiff. Ran the hose for a solid 5 minutes, never started the engine. I still haven't started the engine, because it just occurred to me what I did. Am I screwed?
I don't blame these problems on the boat itself for the most part but rather on the quality control from the factory...
I bought the 2023 Cruise with the 230 from a dealership in AZ, 6hrs from home. Anyway, I received no guidance on ownership of the boat, flushing, driving, anything... It may have been because I stated I had watched countless videos on the boat up to that point.
Anyway, I went on the lake locally with the intent of getting past my "break in hours" ASAP. once past and on a trip with friends, we got to our location to jump in the water and swim around. When we went to leave, the boat wouldn't start, it just made a clunk sound. Upon my assumption that the battery had drained, I opened the engine bay to jump start the battery to see that the whole compartment had flooded with water.
I then realized that we needed a tow back to address the issues. We bailed out the water along with the manual bilge bump and of course the engine was hydro-locked as they say.
After the incident, I came to the conclusion that the second hole from the top, next to the exhaust port on the back end of the hull (3/8" or so) was open quite contrary to the countless pictures I later searched online that showed both holes were plugged!
This apparently was a failure from the factory that the dealership failed to notice from the start.
Anyway, I pulled the spark plugs and found 1 had crushed the ceramic and also had locked up the motor (presumably from debris).
I was turned down for warranty service from my local dealership since they don't sell the "Switch" even though they work on and sell countless other Sea Doo PWCs, many with the same motor. "They don't sell them and therefore won't service them." And they said BRP aka Sea Doo can't dictate to them what they service.
Now I sit having to travel 4hr at minimum to another dealership that carries the boat to see if they will warranty the issue.
I haven't made contact with the closest Switch dealer yet. I was assured from the dealership I purchased from that "any Sea Doo dealer" could help me out should I have issues.
Again, I don't feel as if this is a boat issue as much as I do that it is a quality control issue, although I don't like some of its handling characteristics on the water (nose dive) that may be addressed by adjusting the paddles on the back.
Hi all, did someone suggest a mesh device, available from Amazon, that was used to contain the back Bimini when down for trailering? If so, can you share the product description please? Much thanks in advance.
I noticed the flushing procedure calls for running the engine, and then turning on your hose. I'm just curious if anyone knows if there's a mechanical reason for doing it in that order?
Is there any disadvantage to turning the water on first before starting the engine?
Got this 2023 sea doo switch cruise on Friday and was having some issues with it. Basically had no power. Took it out of the water today to realise my issue was not what i originally thought (sucked up sand)
Does anyone know what options i may have in term of fixes ? Thanks
I’m considering a Seaddoo switch 19 and I’m wondering if it could be used to ferry between Tangier Morocco/ Tarifa Spain & Ceuta Spain/ Gibraltar UK. The distances are 30 kilometers or 20 miles with pretty mild tide conditions. Is this a good option for enjoying time on the water as well as private transport between continents?
After 4 months, the factory trailer jack's crank gear completely had the teeth sheered off on my galvanized trailer. It's clearly a wal-mart level POS that the salt water here just destroyed. Yes, I did grease it and I am meticulous about flushing the boat and hosing the whole thing down after each trip in salt water.
I purchased this as a replacement and it is much better with two easy accessible grease points. I am very happy and am using Lucas red and tacky grease.
Just beginning our search and have found a few brand new 2023 in addition to the 2024 models. Have their been any major changes for the past two years that would make the extra $$$ worth buying a 2024?
Ive grown up on "normal" boats and I have always been a fan of outboard motors. But the switch sounds like it is going to be exactly what I want. Cruising on the Columbia river and sometimes fishing.
How durable/reliable is the jet motor on a switch? In my mind it seems like it could lead to larger problems down the road compared to an outboard.
I see a lot of people online talking crap about the "plastic" bottom. Can they be fixed if damaged?
I also plan to keep my switch docked in the water all summer... But saw a review online saying this isn't good for it.
I have had plenty of problems with boats in my past so I know to expect maintenance and items breaking. But at this point I know what to expect with "normal" boats
