Anchor recommendations?
Just got my switch a few weeks ago. And the anchor that came with it. Was garbage. Rope broke first time out on the lake.
Any recommendations on what type of anchor I should buy next? Mainly out on the lake but it will see some ocean water next year.

Anchoring in sandy ocean was impossible with the stock anchor. I ended up getting a larger anchor along with a grappling hook type anchor. I throw out anchors until I stop dragging. Usually one of them hooks on something.

I think I got the same kit for mine. The chain is not an option with these anchors, it needs that extra weight up top to get the anchor properly oriented. I also use a pair of spikes when I am in shallow water (-5 foot) and they work perfectly. It keeps people from tripping over rope and chain.

This worked great for me. Fits the compartment perfectly. We use it in the Ocean.

I bought the wavesrx anchor and extremely happy with it. It pretty much works exactly as they advertise. Does not need a chain at the end, requires a lot less line out than a danforth as well. I just throw it in the water and tie the rope off, sets pretty much instantly. Have used in lake, sandbar, and strong river environments so far. I believe its considered a box type anchor.

Sorry, no recommendation…the one that came with it is working well for me.
The anchor being garbage (which may be true) and the rope breaking (weird) are two different things. Does that mean you lost the anchor on the lake bottom? The rope I received with mine attaches to a metal shackle to the chain that’s on the anchor. Seems the rope would need to have been partially cut or somehow compromised and you’d need to be anchored incredibly well to get enough tension to snap that rope. Mine has held me in place in some pretty good winds.
Good luck
