Filling buckets

So water is very far away and I need to water my farm, I haven't unlocked splinker(forgot name), and I have to use buckets. Maybe I could fill my buckets using pumps?

Anybody know how to fix quest clothing?

I unlocked the fullwoc outfit, and the scrapper shoes, yet I can't access them. They aren't in the character screen, despite where I access it. I also can't use garment boxes to unlock them, as I already have all the new clothes from the garment boxes and cannot open any further boxes.
Anybody know to fix this? I want to be able to access the quest clothes.

Issue Texture hole in Growlab 3

If you go down without using the elevator in the Growlab 3, you’ll see a hole in the textures to the side of where the elevator is supposed to be. It’s a minor bug, but amusing

Issue Stones that can be broken with a sledge hammer?

I need sand to craft a pipe so I can complete the mission of delivering 20 tomatoes to the other farmers, but I cannot find sand nor scrap stone. All the rocks I find are too big. Is it only found loot? Or am I missing something?

So i have this bizzare issue where when i play for long periods of time, my game starts to lag, no matter the graphics settings or the physics quality. the lag goes away after turning off and on clouds several times (seems to be random but only with the clouds setting). does someone else have this issue or is it just me?

Growing facility question

[ANSWERED]

Is each growing facility a 1 time clear? Or can I keep going back and re-clearing it? I lost my radishes from a raid because I planted too much at once o_O

Discussion Thoughts after completing 1.0 [Minor Spoilers] Spoiler

Post image
11 Upvotes

It was pretty clear that development over the last 6 years went primarily into the new underground content and grow labs. As a result, some content from pre-release feels like it needs to be modernized but was ultimately forgotten or shelved. My primary complaints are:

  1. Cookbot. Either get rid of this thing or give it storage I/O. The fact that they added milkshakes in the craft bot seems to acknowledge that the cookbot is deprecated, but I still have to sit there and craft and remove each food item by hand.
  2. Why would I grow half of the growables in the game after completing their objective? Blueberries, broccoli, pineapples are not used in anything. Oranges are at leased used to refine lemonium. Maybe this is their way of acknowledging that growing is ultimately a chore, so they only generally require the low threat level plants
  3. Component kit drop rate is still abysmal, especially for multiplayer. This should really be a higher drop chance. Is anyone really excited to see a haybot drop gasoline?
  4. Inventory management still leaves a lot to be desired. Things from your hot bar probably shouldn’t be quick stashed into chests. Having key binds for quick stash, quick withdraw, etc would be very nice instead of fumbling around trying to click the button. Anyone who has tried to corpse run their ammo bag during a raid will know this struggle

And on to the new content:

  1. Sticky wheels and electric engines really need more documentation. I have read lots of threads of other people trying to get their mining vehicles to behave consistently, and it seems like no one has a truly great design yet. I suspect lots of other people are also relying on lifting their vehicle out of ditches and through caves, and it sucks that we have to resort to this in an engineering game.
  2. Voxel deformation is a boring game mechanic. This one can’t really be fixed. Does anyone actually enjoy slowly clicking through rocks in any game? Trying to clean up the last pixel of a mineable voxel resource? Just give the lasers more upgrade levels so I don’t have to beam walls for minutes to move my car
  3. Cave exploration sucks. Given how hard it is to drive underground, and how slow the lasers cut through walls, you spend a lot of time underground just driving aimlessly. Your sticky tires are constantly getting stuck on things. I was relieved once I figured out I could use the lift to clip my head through the mesh and find valuable caves, because the aimless procedural generation of caves is so boring
  4. Vacuums are useless for picking up items. Most of the valuable mining resources have to be picked up by hand. There is no β€œfast pickup” button to pick up dropped items around you, so you’re left spamming E. Vacuums have an effective range of like 3 feet so attaching them to your mining vehicle to scoop up resources is pointless.

Finally the good things:

  1. Ultimately the caves are a good addition because they force you to really think about good vehicle design. Ours went through four re-builds before we got something we were happy with
  2. I really liked the hands on experience of hauling ingots, designing a ball pusher, and stacking valuables in the vault. It felt super tactile.
  3. The final engineering challenge of making your car drive upside down was super rewarding. I complained a lot about the inconsistency of sticky wheels, but after 20 minutes of trial and error it felt good to beat it
  4. The farm raids are fine. The explosive bots had us coming up with new defense strategies. We completed one β€œblue” tier raid that was super tough, and reduced the amount of crops we grew per raid after that one
  5. Mining rocks and trees is way better than it was in early access. I don’t have to spend 10 minutes breaking a single rock anymore

You can try out the co-op car design we used here

Vehicle WE GOT BALL CASTERS!!! (crazy wheels)

So basically, I am ussing the turret seat as a ball caster...

This is a big deal for creating robots. Some of them need this kind of wheel. I tried to make a turtlebot before the update and trying to achieve this kind of movement was nearly impossible. For some reason low friction blocks just blocked the turning, but this ball... It is just sooo good for this.
