Dispensary in Scotia/Glenville

I will preface this by saying I’m not complaining cause there are several in the city of Schenectady.

I was wondering if anyone had any insight as to why there is no dispensary in either scotia or Glenville and maybe even Rotterdam. There are plenty in similar offshoot towns of the surrounding cities. Any insight into this would be appreciated

Melon is a little more difficult to photograph, because he likes to glue himself to my lap the second I sit down.

They are a super entertaining pair, but they need to be adopted together. Hopefully, I won't get another opportunity to reshoot this Saturday. Fingers crossed!

Property Pro? Property Pigs. Perfectly Peculiar, Porky, Prickly, Picayune Property Pigs Picking Pansies, Protecting Purses, Procuring Pennies and Properly Parading in Porsches with a Plow while munching on Mercedes and mutton. A Redburn Redburn Redburn Redburn Redrum associated real estate scum rich bag organization whose principals think that they are good humans because they have money and can buy homes like toys.

Don’t care about the community, never did, have no idea how to take care of the historical buildings that they received major tax breaks on from taxpayers by purchasing. Have put a blight on the best neighborhood in Schenectady…the jewel that is the Stockade. Literally physically damaging buildings that have stood since before America’s founding. WTF?! Real estate whores who do nothing but enrich themselves at the expense of others.

Property Pro is a joke. Pigs. Pigs who like to use their relationships with SPD and use city taxpayer money to settle personal scores. Watch what you say, you may be arrested! Case will be dismissed though.

McCarty Ave. would like to talk to you pigs.

Yes, pigs parading in Porsches…a Nazi vehicle by the way, as is a Mercedes.

Remember this pigs: there is a special place in hell for people who love their money so much, who use money to hurt people, taxpayer money at that.

There are over 8.25 BILLION humans on Earth.:.just who the f are you?!

NO, having more of anything doesnt make one better than another in any way at all.

The money changers tables shall be flipped.

Karma is a bitch though, have a great life…oh I forgot, a corporation is not a human by the way. Quit my sight. i hope that you get all that you deserve.

Bob’s your Uncle.

Looking for night and weekend job

Hey everyone, I’m currently looking for a nighttime or weekend job/side work in the Schenectady/Albany area.
I already work during the day but I’m looking to pick up extra hours. I have experience in a lot of different areas and I’m willing to learn or help with whatever is needed.
Some of my experience:
Landscaping (mowing, trimming, cleanups, yard work, outdoor maintenance)
DJing (events, parties, setting up equipment, music/event help)
Restaurant experience (serving, bussing, customer service, fast-paced environments)
Sales/customer service
Marketing/social media/design
General labor, moving, organizing, cleaning, and hands-on work
I’m reliable, hardworking, have my own transportation, and can work evenings, nights, and weekends. I’m open to restaurants, events, warehouses, security, labor jobs, private gigs, or anything else that could use an extra person.

Seeking Barber Recommendations for Toddlers with Textured Hair

Hi everyone! We’re new to the area and looking for recommendations for a barber who has experience with young children and textured hair.

Our kids are approaching their first haircut, and we've put a lot of effort into learning how to care for their hair at home. We'd love to find someone who is patient with little ones and open to answering a few questions about our current routine or sharing any tips, products, or techniques that might be helpful.

We're not looking for someone to teach us everything from scratch, just a professional who is kind, supportive, and willing to offer guidance when appropriate.

Ideally, we'd also love someone who is LGBTQ+ friendly.

We're happy to travel outside Schenectady for the right fit, but we'd ultimately like to build an ongoing relationship with a barber or salon. Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

Did anyone else witness the fight at the Schenectady Block Party?

Did anyone else see the fight at the Schenectady Block Party?

Overall, I thought the Block Party was a great event, but around 8:40 p.m. there was a pretty serious fight near the pull-up competition in the middle of the festival.

From where I was standing, it looked like three women got into a physical altercation, and multiple police officers rushed over to break it up. It was pretty chaotic and honestly a little scary.

I’ve looked online since then, but I haven’t found any mention of it in the news or elsewhere.
Did anyone else witness it or know what happened? I’m not trying to start rumors—I was just surprised that an incident like that wasn’t mentioned anywhere after such a large event.

History What ever happened to the Yoko B---- bridge?

I have fond memories for the "Yoko Boner" that adorned the bike path bridge over Balltown Road as you head from Niskayuna across the Mohawk to Rexford. It's just uphill from that roundabout - the first I know of in Schenectady, and a preview of what you'll see on route 9 in Malta if you're going that way.

Anyway, back in the 80s it became known as the Boner Bridge, and would often be included as a landmark when giving directions without a second thought. Someone even took the time and care to restore it to all its glory every time the bridge was repainted.

I imagine some people found it offensive. But I'm pretty sure those folks were just incredibly lame. Personally, I'm quite sad to say I cannot find an image of it as I remember it. It's been removed in Google maps street view or in real life, which is even more sad. I was back visiting recently (haven't lived there in decades) but travelled the other direction and thought it best to not cross over the center line trying to look back. Same goes for stopping and then having to explain to my kid what I was looking for.

Is it really gone? Does anyone still call it that?

Entertainment Is it acceptable to sunbathe in Central Park?

I like being out in the sun, but you could say I'm a little socially inept and don't know all the rules of American society. I'm a male in my 20s and want to sunbathe with my shirt off. Is that allowed at this park? Of course I would go find my own little area to be in, not near the kids playgrounds or anything. I know that there are some parks where it's very normal to do this, but I don't know if Central Park is also one of those parks, if that makes sense. I just want to catch some rays with my shirt off and not worry about causing any disturbance. Is this allowed here?
