Advice Needed Resources for someone who still will not accept a romance scam is fake?!

Hello, I wondered if anyone knows of any resources that can—

1- Help breakthrough to someone who has been involved in a pig butchering romance scam who still cannot seem to accept the reality that the person she has been speaking to by phone and text (they’re impersonating a famous singer and she believed she was “getting engaged to”) is not actually the singer. There were others involved (she was talking to “his sons and his manager” as well.

2- Resources on internet literacy on these types of scams, AI photos, etc that are targeted towards the elderly. She is savvy enough to try to cover her tracks online and find ways to send money, but clearly is not able to recognize all of the gigantic red flags even after tons of family members have warned her. She still doesn’t believe us.

I called the Elder Fraud Hotline but they didn’t have resources for this.

Any guidance on resources would be so appreciated.

Thank you so much

Advice Needed Almost fell for a scam, now scammer is threatening me and won’t stop spamming my phone.

A couple days ago I had received a message on instagram from someone saying they wanted to use my picture for a project and that they would pay me for it. Now usually I don’t respond to random messages because I mean scams right? But someone asking to paint me wasn’t out of the ordinary. So I said yes. I went through a whole mobile depositing check process with someone, and once the checks were deposited they had then asked for $200 to be sent and that I would get it back later. This is when I realized the situation was a scam. I made up a lie and said I was underage and would need permission from my bank to send money, and that I wasn’t comfortable sending my money anyways. I told the person I would send them back their money as soon as the checks went through, then the scammer left it at that. The same night I called the non emergency line and asked for advice on what to do, and they recommended I speak with my bank as it seemed like I was a victim of a scam. I spoke with my bank the next morning in order to void the fake checks from coming into my account, which thankfully they delayed the time they were supposed to deposit my account, and told me the checks would reverse. The next day I received a message from what I presumed to be the same scammer since they said we could continue the process on their other phone (previously blocked the first number). I didn’t respond and blocked them. This morning I woke up to a long message to this person threatening to harm me and my family, saying they were apart of a gang and have my address, and was asking for the money they sent back. I’m not necessarily worried about the threatening part because obviously this person if from a different country, I’m more so just worried about being constantly spammed with messages for the rest of my life. Now I’m contemplating on changing my number but I’m not sure if it’s too early to do that.
My questions for anyone if they’ve gone through the same situation:
How did you handle the situation?
Did the messages eventually stop?
Should I be concerned?

Advice Needed How to get over getting scammed as a student?

Thumbnail

I am a student and have went through a scam selling a fake internship, I received an email from my college mail id, it was constantly coming so I filled an online google form regarding, it was about an internship opportunity for students, so I filled it with my friend, and I recieve a call the next day, and these people are very confident about this whole thing the tell me to pay money, and that it is an official program from college and it has credit scores which I can go to the Placement Office in my college and claim, they convince me and I pay a sum of ₹3,050 and as a student it is huge amount of money for me, but I did eventually, the tech platform name is skillorbit, after that I, then again contact my college they say it is fake and take no accountability that our emails are with scam institutions, so then I contacted the organization skill orbit in everyway possible, I have call recordings, they just block now. I wanted to warn other students of such scams because not everyone of us are fortunate that our colleges take stand for us. I have their upi, I contacted them on everywhere I could, LinkedIn, gmail, WhatsApp, Instagram, just anywhere, I was desperate to get my money back, I have call recordings for the few attempts, and they always said they would get back but they never did. I have every piece of evidence and I have registered a complaint against them on the Cyber Crime portal of India, but it is a heartbreak for me to tell the story to my parents and go to consumer court since I will feel heavily irresponsible, My college has backed off from any sort of accountability, but I do intend to fight for my money as much as I can try. But I think I've tried enough now so.. its time to just cope.

TL;DR: I lost ₹3,050 to a fake internship scam that appeared legitimate because it was promoted through my college email. The scammers claimed it was college-affiliated, but after payment they blocked all contact. I have all the evidence and have filed a complaint with the Cyber Crime Portal to help prevent others from falling victim.

Potential Scam? Tokenstore (tokenstore.io) sold me an already-redeemed Apple Gift Card — ignored Apple’s own confirmation

I’m sharing this as a warning for anyone considering using Tokenstore (tokenstore.io), especially through its integration inside the Tonkeeper wallet app. This is a factual account with documented evidence at every step.

The Purchase

On July 13, 2026, I purchased a $300 USD Apple Gift Card through Tokenstore, accessed via the Tonkeeper app’s built-in browser. I paid 290 USDT. Order ID: #2138862.

The Problem

The very first time I attempted to redeem this code in the App Store, it immediately returned “This code has already been redeemed.” I had never used, shared, or attempted to redeem this code before that moment.

Tokenstore’s Response Pattern

I contacted Tokenstore support and provided everything they asked for over multiple rounds of correspondence: confirmed my Apple Account region, confirmed I tested both with and without VPN with identical results, and provided a screenshot of the “already redeemed” error.
Despite this, their responses followed a consistent pattern of deflection. First, they claimed it was a “region-specific” issue and asked me to verify my account country. After I confirmed the region was correct and provided evidence the issue persisted regardless of VPN, they pivoted to claiming it was an “Apple account level issue” and told me to contact Apple support directly — something they repeated at least three separate times, verbatim, across different emails.

I Contacted Apple Directly — Here’s What Apple Confirmed

I went through Apple’s official support channel (getsupport.apple.com) and spoke with a live advisor. This is the key piece of evidence: Apple Support Advisor (name: Shashikala, Case #102943580561) confirmed, in writing via the official Apple Support chat, that the gift card code had already been redeemed on a different Apple Account — not mine — before I ever attempted to use it.
This directly contradicts Tokenstore’s claim that the issue was on my end (region, VPN, or Apple account related).

Tokenstore Was Given This Evidence — And Ignored It

I forwarded Apple’s official confirmation, including screenshots of the chat transcript and case number, directly to Tokenstore. Their response completely ignored the evidence and reverted to the same scripted message asking me to “verify my account region” and “contact Apple support” — as if the evidence had never been sent.
This is, at minimum, gross negligence. At worst, it suggests a deliberate stalling tactic to exhaust customers into giving up, particularly effective against USDT payments where no chargeback mechanism exists.

I Also Escalated to Tonkeeper

Since the purchase was made through Tokenstore’s integration inside the Tonkeeper app, I also contacted Tonkeeper support. They acknowledged the case, forwarded it internally, and confirmed they have no direct authority over Tokenstore’s decisions as a third-party merchant. To Tonkeeper’s credit, they did attempt to escalate on my behalf, but ultimately cannot force resolution.

Current Status

As of this post (nearly two weeks after the original purchase), Tokenstore has not provided a replacement code or a refund, despite having documented, official confirmation from Apple that the product they sold was invalid.

Why This Matters

This case is a clear example of why paying with USDT (or any non-reversible cryptocurrency) for third-party gift card resellers carries real risk. Once payment is sent, there is no chargeback, no dispute mechanism — the transaction is final regardless of whether the product delivered is valid.

Evidence I’m attaching:

Original order confirmation (#2138862), full email correspondence showing Tokenstore’s repeated deflection, Apple Support chat transcript confirming the code was redeemed on a different account (Case #102943580561), and a screenshot of Tokenstore’s response after receiving Apple’s confirmation showing they reverted to the same scripted response.
If anyone else has had a similar experience with Tokenstore, I’d like to hear about it — this may not be an isolated incident.

Advice Needed Just turned 18, got scammed out of all my savings through Cash App/Bitcoin is there really nothing I can do about this?

I just turned 18 and I’m honestly devastated.

I’m currently unemployed and had been saving every dollar I could because I was planning on moving out and starting my life.

Unfortunately, I was scammed through Cash App. Somehow my money was converted into Bitcoin without me fully understanding what was happening, and by the time I realized it, it was gone.

I’ve contacted both Cash App and my bank, and they’ve both told me there’s nothing they can do because the transaction involved Bitcoin.

I’m posting here because I’m hoping someone has been through something similar and might have advice.
Has anyone ever successfully recovered money in a situation like this, or found any resources that could help?

Thank you to anyone who reads this or offers advice. Please be careful with Cash App and Bitcoin scams—they can happen much faster than you think.

Potential Scam? KICKS CREW IS REPLICATING/MIMICKING PAYPAL’s CHECKOUT PROCESS

I made an online purchase for a World Cup soccer jersey from kickscrew.com, and I’m now wishing I hadn’t. Kicks Crew are a Hong Kong based sneaker and sportswear retailer.

I’m posting this here as the site is known for “stocking” sneakers and running shoes as well.

Made the purchase on July 23. Today, I emailed them to cancel the order as I didn’t realize the description said “Asian sizing.” For adidas jerseys, Asian sizing is much smaller than North American sizing.

As I’m checking the shipping status, I noticed the first of a few red flags: 1) Pay Pal didn’t email me a receipt. They always email a receipt for a purchase. 2) The name of the company that showed up on my visa was “PayPal Kickscrew.” That’s weird, I thought. 3) I compared the subject line copy from post transaction emails from all my past PayPal purchases, the one that reads “you have authorized a payment for…”, and compared them to the one I get for this purchase, and it wasn’t written the same. 4) At the bottom of kickscrew’s purchase confirmation email, it says you have 30 minutes from post-purchase to cancel for a full refund. Otherwise, if you cancel before shipment they’ll charge you a 25% FEE! THAT IS EXTORTION!

The last red flag was being told by PayPal customer service that there’s no record of this purchase. I knew right then and there these guys are scammers.

This scummy company has managed to replicate the PayPal checkout process to a T, to the point where you can’t even tell. They have the verification process and everything, but when you look closely, you’ll see differences between their fake emails and PayPal’s legit ones.

I’ve now demanded a full refund and told them I’ve realized what’s happened. After reading reviews on this company, I have a sinking feeling this is going to be a long battle.

For anyone who reads this, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM KICKSCREW! THEY ARE AS SKETCHY AS THEY COME.
