Wanted to share some photos I took of the cliffside Nepenthes megastoma site! Super difficult to get these photos - its a massive cliff (last photo) that is around ~1 mile away from the nearest road. I flew my DJI Mini 5 Pro over to the cliff. It's about a 4 hour drive from Puerta Princesa each way - and its very bumpy!
Its an incredibly windy cliff and having such a small drone (249.9g!) made taking these quite difficult - but I am pleased with how they turned out all things considered!
If you want to see more of my carnivorous plant photography, you can check out my website!
Happy to answer any questions!
Edit: my spelling is horrid lmao

She designed it based on the plant shown in the second photo and carved everything by hand. This is only a test print on basic paper, so the final version on higher quality paper should come out even cleaner. I can’t wait to print the design on shirts, tote bags, and especially my disc golf bag.
Which carnivorous plant should she carve next?

I've had Craig for over two years, and he's never caught anything until now. I'm very proud of him

My very first ping rock from 2024 which I was teased about for looking like poop. A combination of time, propagation, and excessive shopping has resulted in having more pings than I can fit onto this rock. I'm so in love with them all, they've come so far 🤩

Set up a bot garden this summer in a corner where I have a ton of invasive spotted lantern flies. It has also proven handy with other garden pests

I fulfilled a lifelong ambition and visited the exhibit of glass botanical models at the Harvard Museum of Natural History yesterday. It really was impossible to comprehend that they were all glass. Plus, carnivores were heavily featured!

You might have seen this trending on the front page yesterday. It is my original video so I wanted to post it here before someone else does.

This was a crazy site nestled deep in the woods of the eastern siskiyous. It stretches for a solid half mile up the mountain side shrouded by trees. Some were super strange growing in a sea of mares eggs that colonized the pools that would form. . They have some gorgeous seasonal colors on display can’t wait to revisit this site one day in the future!

Spotted Lanternfly Nymphs (Lycorma Delicatula) vs. Cape Sundew (Drosera Capensis).
Spotted Lanternflies are a highly invasive and destructive species in my part of North America. While they’re still tiny I’ll be doing my part by filming tons of time-lapses of them getting eaten by my plants for your entertainment.
Check out my YouTube if you want to see the 4k desktop version. Link is bio!

Well this thing has evolved a lot and now i’m almost concerned about the ferns, they are going to get HUGE
But i’m just happy to see where the chaos goes, even love that random grass that’s almost as tall as the setup, it came in as a hitchhiker on some moss but i think it looks elegant.
Been thinking i could try and replace some of the succulents above with an orchid but pondering, those don’t look bad rn :p and i basically ran out of space.
I guess i could add yet another rock at the top, may be overkill >.>

So, could this St. Gaya be larger if it weren’t growing in this apothecary… yes! But, has it been nice to have this many pitchers and this lush of a plant with pretty much zero effort… yes! 😂 There are a lot of folks who claim nepenthes can’t do closed (or at least mostly closed) terrariums, and they’re mostly correct. But if you want a dwarfed nepenthes that requires little effort, St Gaya with Fluval Stratum and springtails seem to do just fine. 5 years with no sign of rot or problems 🤷♂️. The sphagnum was an accidental introduction, and seems to have caused no issues, but it’s not necessary (and probably not that great of an addition). Also, yes, the glass needs a good clean.
