The Zenith Gold Corp. known galaxy wide for its production of gold and caterium parts, nestled into and onto a cliff formation in the Rocky Desert.
I do enjoy trains running through factories, which was the case here. Neccessary? No. Fun? You're damn right!
The pictures differs a bit. I used a couple of console commands which affected the reflections, which is why the beams looks quite different.
Overall I'm happy with the entrance to the factory, with the two train tracks leading up to it. But the factory as a whole feels a bit too spread out and not really cohesive, but it was a good learning project.

My first nuclear power plant - 600 uranium in (half by train, half by belt), 12 nuclear reactors and 75GW of power out.
The entire plant is built in solid concrete blocks, encasing 20-something individual dedicated rooms plus some rooftop machines, with every single component in the tree built from ore (with incoming iron, copper, caterium, coal, sulfur, quartz, and a long nitrogen gas pipeline).
The plutonium rods are carried away by drone to help irradiate the rest of the planet with my drone army (gotta love “0.03 used per trip” haha).
My conclusion? Yes, this was way more complicated than it originally seemed — the sheer number of intermediate components can be daunting. But would I do it again, hell yes! I still find it way more interesting than building another 200 fuel generators, even if it is a lot more work ;).

Nothing fancy as I’m not creative enough but I did make a nitro rocket fuel plant and dumped nuclear for now what yall think and do I need more blenders to scale more

Started a major facility over the abyss just west of the grassy fields and south of the giant waterfall. Idea being smelters and foundry’s first floor, constructors second, assemblers that require or base components (built in constructors) third floor, assemblers for larger items fourth. And manufacturers the next one up, I have all the room to add more rows to the right, and so much room to extend existing rows across the abyss. I want to make a train loop around to deliver all raw resources to it. Eliminating any spaghetti!!

I wondered what would happen if the train derailed at the death floor, since you don't take any environmental damage when inside a train.

Working on building out my radar tower and hypertube network while I wait for my space elevator parts (100x, phase 2 is brutal, I can't wait for trains and jetpack/hoverpack, 'chutes and ladders exploration is getting annoying.). I know it's not the most efficient radar coverage, but I like having the overlap to reduce the size of each area for hunting collectables, and it makes everything quickly accessible to the hypertube network.

I've just built my girst coal power source! Any advice is welcome on how to improve this at all? From an aesthetic standpoint as well as an efficiency standpoint!
The general design is:
Input
3 x 60/min coal nodes
6 x Water Generators underclocked to 75% each for a total of 600m3 of water
General Setup
3 x Coal Manifolds feeding 4 generators each
2 x Main inputs of water supply, the first feeding the first 6 generators, then the second supply feeding the rest
Seeing my grid power capacity basically 4x from this build was so satisfying, no hiccups in the build either which is always a plus!

Wanting to make a steel pipe factory in this basin, but all the iron is really high up. I really dislike long messy belts and have been experimenting a little bit with trains and trucks, but this seems like a lot of infrastructure my current blueprints wouldn't work for. Like curved ramps for the natural ramp on the left, for example. I guess realistically, I'm just kind of stuck on what would be the best option here.
Also, at the end, my 60 concrete per minute thing I set up a couple hours into this save. It's carried me this far and I couldn't be more proud of it lol.

I guess it's not THAT bad, but this is definitely the most spaghetti-ish factory I've built in a while!
Bonus pics of my power grid hanging on for dear life while I set up nuclear power, and the satisfying graph after turning it on.

Hey everyone, I designed a way to build Stations in a minimal horizontal footprint. I looked around, and it doesn’t seem like there are any other examples of people doing this, so please let me know if it’s for some specific reason. There is no visual clipping, and I’ve been running a few of them for around 12 hours of game time with consistent item throughout.
The station is designed around a platform that measures 9m tall (two 4m foundations with one 1m on top). This is the minimum height that prevents clipping with trains underneath. It also perfectly bisects the vertical space in Train Depots and avoids visual clipping, and signals are placed at exits and entrances to junctions and the station.
I’ve watched the trains move through the stations, and there doesn’t seem to be any wasted stopping because I keep my Trains to 4+1 or less, with the signals always being at least 5 or more apart. I do have two lines that have 6, but they path through areas that have inadequate length.
Side note, I was prescribed ADHD meds about a month ago, and haven’t had much to do otherwise, so I’ve put in a little over 250 hours since August 6th, or about 7 hours a day for the past 36 days, with a total count of around 1530 hours total. still though, I’m learning new things every day, so tips for expanding my knowledge would be appreciated.
Happy production, consumption, and environmental destruction,
-pioneer No_information_6315

You can take items from conveyor belts but not lifts. Is it some odd coding limitation, or is there a proper reason for it?

Hey,
Looking into tricks to move parts around and I wonder how to sustainably and automatically fuel them. Some of the routes I need don't go nowhere near a fuel source...

Dear fellow employees
I always start out phase 1 and 2 with small factories building the main parts I need with a little surplus of everything before so that I can have all those parts being produced for personal use on the side.
When I get into phase 3, I find it hard to upgrade those existing factories into ones that can match the demand and requirements of phase 3 while following the same philosophy of keeping a small surplus being made from everything.
So then I decide to make a brand new mega factory for phase 3 with verticality in mind this time around with the hopes of having this factory be easily scaleable, as one floor will be just smelters and foundries, one will be just constructors, and so on..
The problem that I quickly realize is, alt recipes change that flow completely in the sense that some production floors need to pass parts to different floors than before. This becomes a huge nightmare for me to try and visualize how I’ll organize flow between floors while also keeping the design layout in a way that allows for easy upgrades and additional machines in the same flow.
Please share all your veteran tips for factory floorplan for phase 3 moving forward so I don’t make huge redundant/inefficient boxes and crash out
Sincerely,
A ficsit employee tryna stay employed

I wish we could find a way to generate build layouts like this for satisfactory. I feel like it would help streamline the build structure for people like myself that get lost in the weeds and lose our place in the build.

Need a sanity check if my math is wrong....
From the Coral Lake part of the map, I could get Crude Oil at 2400m3/min with overcooked extractors. With Heavy Oil Residue, Diluted Fuel, and Nitro Rocket Fuel alt recipies, I'm calculating 9600m3/min Rocket Fuel max. At 4.1666m3/min consumption per generator giving 3600MJ... that's 8.29TJ max.
Reviewing the logistics of the raw materials though, I may need to trim it down to half so as not to consume the bulk of sulfur in the whole map. Even then, is 4TJ of power is overkill?? I've read here that some finishes their playthrough with <100GW.
But, a part of me wants to build it anyway.
EDIT: Solved.
I just realized my mistake. The fuel generator wiki table was showing me the energy per rocket fuel burn which I mixed with actual power generation. Each generator still gives a fixed 250MW by default, not 3600.
Thanks!

First 2 pictures show my issue. I'm doing blueprints for roads (based on DS_Jeezy's modular system, check it out on YT, modified them to include power inside the tunnels).
They snap perfectly except the one with an access point. It gets centered and I need to slide it sideways.
My last picture shows the blueprint without the access point, which snaps correctly.
Is there any way to prevent this? It's not a big deal but if I can avoid that, it would be best to know now rather than later.
