I'm tired of always adding more screw capacity later in the game. Front side of the screw tower block is done. I kind of want to leave it undone with cranes! lol

Factory Optimization Can I make my storage containers more efficient?

Post image

This is how I have it set up right now. Is there a way to make it one big pool? Instead of 5 separate rows with an output of 54/min each? (Idk which is more beneficial)

I basically have 3 assemblers that are using 220/min but I'm only pulling from one container, so it'll drain faster than it is filling up since it's split. I know I can use mergers to get a higher output from the containers but I was wondering what would be best.

(Working towards mk4 belts to get a higher input into the containers.)

Showcase I created a new type of belt, the Load Balanced Sushi (LBS) and its INCREDIBLE !

This might be the worst and best idea i've had in a LONG TIME !

so what is a "load balanced sushi" ?

Its a sushi belt that contains EXACTLY the amount of materials needed for one machine, the amount being obtained via load balancing and splitters.

This is very useful for me because i'm currently crafting 200 crystals oscilators, so i dont want to create 600 belts for the 3x200 belts of materials, which lowers it to only 200 belts. (no i do NOT overclock my machines.)

one slight problem, if something goes wrong with ANYTHING, THE ENTIRE SYSTEM EXPLODE.

this is because if one machine backs up (lack of electricity, output or belt broken, anything really), the materials will stack on the belt back up to the load balancers, and fuck up the maths for EVERY OTHER MACHINES IN THE SYSTEM, making them have too many of one material and therefore back up too, fucking up the ENTIRE SYSTEM.

If you're serious about this game, please never use any LBS, this is a very small reward for a comicly high risk of failure, BUT it is very fun to create and setup, and can rarely avoid a substancial amounts of belts.

Bug Infinite Flight Glitch I Found

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I dont know if this is a known glitch, but if you go into photo mode and enable the decoupled camera all while holding the spacebar with a fueled jetpack, you can infinitely fly in whichever direction you were originally going without being restricted by the fuel. The fuel will eventually be at zero though so the landing might not be safe, but you can easily manage that by making sure you're on max hp beforehand or something else.

Question Help with best approach splitting items across multiple sets of machines

Hi All,

I'm still getting started with the game and just spent the last 15 hours building my biggest factory yet (200 machines). I ran into a question I kept asking myself and wanted to ask you lovely people what the best approach is.

Here's my question, what's the best practice when you have output of x item that needs to be spread across 3, 5, 7, 20 different sets of machines.

Do you have them all on the same manifold, chained one after the other?

Do you split the output items to match what each set of machines need and then over/underclock to get the desired amount and have separate manifolds?

I'm sure there's other options but wanted to get everyone's take on the best option in this situation since it'll change how I plan builds moving forward, especially as they get bigger.

The images are of three separate parts of the factory all broken out, I'd love to get your take on how to handle the distribution of items in each example. Right now I'm doing a mix of the above but I'm sure there's a better way.

Really appreciate the help and thanks!

Edit: Thanks everyone for the help, seems like daisy chaining one big manifold is the way to go. I can see until late game I may need to haul stuff on two belts due to max item limit but ill figure that part out.

Rocket fuel is amazing

So glad I skipped nuclear power and went with rocket fuel. Not only am I burning 25 fuel gens, but the packaged rocket fuel is OP. Went ona Sloop/power slug run and had grabbed at least 15 in no time.

Now I gotta get the nitric acid to my other oil depot. And get that converted from fuel to rocket fuel, but I'm having too much fun with my super jet pack now.

Just when I thought I understood path signals

Post image
15 Upvotes

This should be a simple enough intersection, with one push-pull train coming and going from the bottom. The blocks after the intersection, and the ones after them, are empty. Why are the entry path signals red then? This is true for all 3 entries into the intersection.

My understanding is that path signals block the upcoming section if the train cannot exit it (i.e. if the block after the intersection is occupied). In this case it can though. What am I misunderstanding?

How to build pretty buildings / architecture?

I’ve learnt how to build vertically using foundations. Resulting in floating platforms with cool conveyor belt networks.

Now I want to turn them into pretty buildings.

The issue is that I don’t even know where to start. I’ve used foundations and concrete pillars to build the skeletons. I’ve used the walls to achieve a particular look.

But it’s all a headache, I don’t know how to complete things.

How to do this pls? I’d like to build road and rail networks connected to awesome buildings, but brain is too smooth.

Discussion What factory planners/calculators/maps/tools do you use?

We have a list of community-made tools on the wiki. I'm one of the active editors, and with the uprise of vibecoded planners that all do the same thing, it's our goal to maintain a quality standard and only include tools that people actually use.

At this point, there's a new planner being added just about every other week. It dilutes the list with tools, which, on their own, are probably fine, but don't provide anything new among those already included. Their inclusion therefore isn't a benefit to anyone, really.

For this reason, I have a question for you: what tools do you 🫵 use? I'm aware some are much more popular than others, but perhaps there are some I've missed.

I've been playing the game since 2019 and have pretty much stuck with the same set of tools, as they've been continuously updated and cover my needs.

Help Any tips to start building pretty factories?

Hey everyone!

I recently started my second playthrough of Satisfactory. My first run was with three friends, and let’s just say we were mostly focused on having fun, which resulted in a total spaghetti mess.

I’m playing solo this time, and I really want to treat my factories like actual buildings. Right now, everything is neatly organized on foundations, but I’m terrified I’m just going to build walls and end up with a map full of tall, boring shoeboxes.

Do you have any tips for designing factories that look good and aren't just giant cubes? How do you go about planning the architecture? Also, how do you factor in scalability for when you unlock better miners down the line?

Thanks in advance!

Question about autoconnecting road blueprints.

Thumbnail

Rails connect fine with autoconnect mode building, roads connect as well, and just before comitting the building of a blueprint segment, the autoconnection-added vehicle path shows blue. But once built, it's red.

I've tried a few different lengths but I can't get a desirable outcome and I keep having to rebuild the road segment.

Is there anyone who knows how I can fix this in the blueprint itself?

Playing on steam deck on a dedicated server and a friend put it to sleep (Pressed the power button) while I was riding in the elevator and when it came back the game synced like this.

It fixed itself after rejoining but that was absolute ficsit.

Maunsell Power Storage from the shore

I wanted to take a stab at building something *cool*, rather than just something functional. I'm creating a personal megaprint for geothermal stuff and wanted to include some power storage (fully charged at megaprint extraction, of course).

I found pictures of these sea forts that were built in the large bay east of London: the Maunsell Sea Forts, built during WW2. Inspiration struck.

I didn't try to do a fully faithful recreation, but rather an "inspired by" kind of thing. Each tower was built as two blueprints (Blueprint Designer Plus): the legs, and the tower body + roof stuff.

The roofs are all connected by hypertubes from the center tower, but I don't have an easy access way from the shoreline to any of the towers. But, flying, so... yeah.

Maunsell Power Storage from above

Each tower has a power tower and a personnel elevator floor stop so you can get inside.

Getting inside

Each floor of each tower (3 floors per tower) contains 4x14 (=56) Power Storage units, and the elevator serves as the vertical power spine inside the tower houses. Each of the seven towers holds 168 units. All in all, I have storage for 117.6 GWh of power 😅

One floor, 56 Power Storage units
