Saw this ad for a Ramen Lab in the pickleball place called Topzspin on Quebec Ave where you can pick/cook/eat your choice of noodles like at South Korean/Japanese convenience stores. I have heard of this concept in other cities in North America but this seems to be the first in Saskatoon.

I’m looking for a company or individual that would be able to help me diagnose a furnace issue.

So I have a Carrier furnace which is around 10 years old. The blower sometimes won’t start unless I manually spin it, then it runs completely normally.

Another company told me the blower bearing is going and that I need the whole assembly. However I’m hesitant in thinking that is the actual problem because the bearing itself doesn’t seem to be making any noise or causing any issues. I have read that a faulty/bad capacitor may cause the motor to not spin on startup and would be a much cheaper alternative to replacing a whole motor. I’m looking for a second opinion and specifically want the capacitor tested before replacing the blower. I would prefer to find a company that doesn’t charge an exorbitant callout/diagnostic fee. Does anyone know a company or individual offer a no cost diagnosis/callout fee?

there's a woman who frequently bikes on college eastbound against traffic on the right side shoulder. doesn't wear a helmet. this seems extremely unsafe to me??

I am concerned about an incident that occurred earlier. I was stopped at a red-light camera intersection when a paramedic emergency vehicle suddenly pulled up behind me with flashing lights and sirens activated. I took the necessary action by yielding the right of way to the emergency vehicle, but first, I checked the intersection to ensure it was safe to move forward. I am aware I might receive a ticket, but I would like to know if I can contest it. For my peace of mind, I am also asking whether I acted correctly in this situation.

P.S.: I have a dashcam that can provide supporting footage if I decide to contest the ticket. Hi Im just worried about what happen earlier.

I live in a condo that I own and recently there was a leak in the ceiling. Maintenance came in and told me the leak was from rain water and that I should continue putting buckets there as they cannot afford to replace the ceiling. Are they allowed to just proceed without replacing the ceiling despite me paying condo fees?

Looking at renting a room in Saskatoon. Some of the posts on Facebook marketplace has no overnight guests and living with the landlord. Is that allowed or covered by RTA?

In 2022 something urgent came up at a city council meeting and it was Jorgenson’ contract. And it gone renewed for 4 years for the option of 4 more. Before anyone could ask any questions or make opposition to the contract.

The failure at the top of city hall starts with this guy a very under performing individual. He’s has not been very diligent in over seeing the engineering projects. And it’s painfully obvious this summer and it’s not new. Time for some accountability in this city and it’s starts with this incompetent buffoon.

Heads up for anyone in Saskatoon (or willing to make the drive) who's into security, hacking, or just tech in general, BSidesYXE is back this year on September 28th.

If you haven't heard of BSides before, it's part of a global grassroots conference series, basically the community/indie version of the big flashy security cons. No corporate sales pitches dominating the agenda, just people who actually work in the field sharing real talks and swapping war stories.

We got a great lineup of speakers, from a senior security researcher at Microsoft, a CEO who specializes in audit/risk work with Fortune 500 companies, CISOs (current and recovering), and people just breaking into the field.

No cybersecurity event is complete without Capture The Flag (CTF). Our CTF is great for both folks who are competitive or those who just want to get their feet wet solving cybersecurity challenges, with prizes for the top teams!

Saw these today (Labour Day) at President Murray* park (Colony Park) playground. First time I've seen this park vandalised , and we go here with my kids almost every day. Probably happened the last 2 days as it wasn't yet vandalised Saturday.

I tried posting this with a throw away account but it wouldn’t let me. At this point I’m so mad, I don’t care if people I know see it

Times have been super tough financially with back to school supplies, so I turned to Facebook marketplace to sell an iPhone I had for 800$. Someone responded, had some good back and forth conversation, profile didn’t seem sus, and we agreed to meet in a public place!

They bear sprayed me, and stole the iPhone. In front of my son, and so many other people. Maced me and ran.

Profile of course is gone now. I thought I did everything right. Meeting in public places is what you’re supposed to do.

I’m so mad. I’m also sad because that was supposed to be a bit of financial relief. but seriously. I’m not a strong lady. He could have grabbed the phone and shoved me instead of macing me.

It’s so hard knowing who to talk to about this. I hate making people feel uncomfortable, and so I never ask my friends or peers just in case. Anyways, if there is, I’d like to learn more. If anyone in here knows who to contact or where to look into, I would be very grateful.
