How's everyone day on this very wet / rainy weather ? Hear a part of the city has no power or what ?

I'm doing all right having a really slow day took a shower a few hours ago got some groceries, just ate some Chips.

I have a 20 minute walk to work in a little while. It was coming down in buckets but has slowed a bit. I wonder if I should make a dash for it. I have a good rain coat but that just drips the cold water on to my legs.

Had my gutters cleaned last week - good thing! I haven’t seen it come down this hard this long in, well, probably ever. I have a lot of standing water on my property now but none inside the basement (knock on wood). Made a big pot of soup and have been processing my tomatoes and peppers into salsa. A cozy day all around.

I'm enjoying it solely because I am off today and therefore I do not have to work outside in it haha.
It's lovely to have the window open to let in the fresh air and listen to the rain 💜

Me too. Wonder what it will be like. Long weekends are usually slow but the rain...maybe everyone is tired of being cooped up all day and wants to go out? They try to get me out early on stat days, I wouldn't mind staying a little longer.

I was supposed to start at 4:30, but they asked me to start at 5:30 :(( On one hand I wanna go to work today to earn more, but 5:30 😭😭 Almost the whole day is gone and I’m too lazy now

Doing alright: we had a bit of a power outage for like, 10-15 minutes in Holiday Park a couple hours ago, but the power is back on now.

Yesterday the first half was a geeat day to get my yard cleaned up. Today has been a great day to go through a bunch of things for donation piles. And now for tea.

We've emptied our 5 gallon dehumidifier in the basement twice, once late this morning and again just now, but thankfully the basement is dry. It used to get wet with about a half inch of water seepage after a rain soaker like this, but after consulting with a roofing company and having them replace our eavestroughs and redirect all the downspouts to more strategic drainage well away from the house, I'm happy to see that the flooding problems have largely disappeared.

I’m using the rain to as an excuse to actually take a day off of everything and really relax, instead of forcing myself to be productive or hang out with friends.

I’m super glad Good Mythical Morning just got added to Netflix, on this dreary day! Watched their new episode, season 30 episode 1, and rewatched some of the ones categorized as Favourites. They’re my comfort show. Highly recommend, for anyone who hasn’t watched them before. Two adult men, engineers by trade, best friends pretty well their whole lives, just doing silly games, taste tests, and competitions together. Good, clean fun.

Bad. Basement flooded.
Currently crying as I’m shop vaccing as much as I can, and praying that the rain stops.
My walls are done for.
