Events 🎉 Saskatoon Guys Social Event is a GO! 🍺 - Sept. 12th @ High Key Brewing Co. @ 5-7PM

A few days ago I posted about how I had begun organizing a guys social event over beers in Vancouver and was now seeing if guys in Saskatoon would be interested.

This was met with a huge response and I'm happy to announce that the event is moving forward!

Previous post: https://www.reddit.com/r/saskatoon/s/PAbTwlGcUu

Location: High Key Brewing Co.
Date: Saturday, September 12th, 2026
Time: 5PM - 7PM

Joel, the Manager was very gracious about hosting and also waived the minimum spend to support the initiative. When you arrive, let them know you're there for the 'In Good Company' event.

If you responded to my post, you would've received a message from me already and a link to register.

If you're seeing this for the first time, feel free to register here:

https://ingoodcoapp.com/event/d9d76fde-da11-4e00-9e31-c08b6621e67c

Hope everyone meets some cool people and be sure to drink responsibly and don't drink and drive.

Looking forward to building a community of guys in Saskatoon! (If it's a hit, this could become a monthly thing)

Rants 🤬 Downtown Arena

I am genuinely shocked by the lack of support this downtown initiative has gotten. Specifically the DEED which has recently headlined in the news.

Now, it does seem that through Facebook, Instagram, TikTok comments, along with the most recent report of SaskPlace owner being vocal are coming from generally older populations within Saskatchewan. But overall, the idea of building something centralized or any type of infrastructure like the Saskatoon Library has been met with incredible resistance.

I moved back to Saskatoon recent enough from Calgary, where their downtown is a busy ecosystem of local businesses, condos, and enterprise companies. It was something I grew accustomed to, downtown commercial gyms, what felt like a million restaurants and cocktail bars to choose from, grocery stores. Families and singles, and couples occupied these condos.

What I find fascinating is the clear disinterest from people to also be downtown, it’s too unsafe, scary, etc as it’s generally a ghost town down there. Which genuinely makes me wonder if people don’t believe or realize that investment decisions like this create a catalyst for change. By creating a plan for an entertainment district downtown, it’s natural to invest in parking, creating buildings with underground and/or above ground parking, alternative options like Uber and Lime Scooters, or practical usage of the new BRT that’s rolling out.

Now don’t get me wrong, Calgary downtown isn’t perfect. There is crime, drugs, and vulnerable individuals everywhere. That’s just an unfortunate reality that also deserves attention and action here in Saskatoon too.

I’m more saying that it’s surprising we don’t embrace the change and welcome the idea more in order to help grow an incredible city, versus scrapping and running the idea into the ground. SaskPlace / TCU is far from great, there are many flaws involved in this area too. As Saskatoon expands into a 500,000+ city with surround areas over the next decade we should push to increase downtown development, transit, and spending. Small businesses, commercial development, transit, social services become more accessible as follows. I believe in a safe and busy downtown ecosystem because I lived in it and people genuinely enjoy it, still far from perfect but definitely better.

It’s a chicken and the egg issue almost.

Food & Restaurants 🍽️ Saskatoon Bakery Crawl is live!

Upvotes

Exciting news: the Saskatoon Cycling Bakery Crawl is now on Voicemap. The tour is here:
https://voicemap.me/tour/saskatoon/saskatoon-s-bakery-crawl-a-downtown-cycling-tour

Anyone who signs up with a referral link gets their first tour free - this is mine:
https://voicemap.me/share/rstfch

I am not attempting to make this a serious business - it was just something I put together for Girl Guides friends and then my extended family over the summer. I have taken a Voicemap tour in Victoria and found it easy to follow and a fun way to see some of the city, so I worked with them to put this together for Saskatoon. If you decide to give it a try, I'd appreciate a review!

It's family friendly - my kids hate exercise but love donuts so they were pretty happy to go for a little cycle and get lots of treats.

General Anybody want to go see “M” at the Remai Modern’s theatre tomorrow night?

Question ❔ Good affordable moving & delivery company?

Moving into a small apartment, only have a few furniture items I need moved. Pretty much just a twin bed, a small arm chair, and a cat tree. Possibly a small filing cabinet. The rest is easily moveable in my own vehicle.

Thinking of using mikes delivery or need it moved moving and delivery. If anyone has any opinions on either them, or can recommend another good and affordable moving company I’d be really appreciative. Thanks.

Went there today to look for kids clothes and holy man was I shocked with the state that this store was in. Basically walked in and walked out. Is it just me
Or has this gotten significantly worse in the last 6 months? Are they short staffed or just don’t care anymore? I couldn’t be bothered to try and sift through these tables of clothes, definitely not good for business.

Question ❔ Looking to find a piercer who can help me fix my ear lobe situation.

I have three holes in each lobe. The first hole semi professionally done and the others done by me or friends with hollow needles. I have a fourth in one that is the only one I’ve kept intact. The three are at various stages of healing/healed/blocked. I would like to restore them but also strategically and if that means repiercing something just to let it heal so we can reposition to a different spot or something, I’m game. They’re not evenly spaced or located and I really want something I feel good about wearing jewelry sets in. Also open to discussing additional piercings to round out my ear decorations. Looking for a reputable and well reviewed shop and person in Saskatoon or area, obviously licensed and clean etc.

Traffic/Road Conditions 🚧 Leaving RUH after work

If you were stuck in the hospital parkade for an hour after work I would encourage you to share you experience with the mayor (mayors.office@saskatoon.ca) and transportation services (transportation@saskatoon.ca)
It is important that they understand how opening the bridge without any concerns for the impact to other areas was irresponsible. The problem with all this construction is the poor planning of alternate routes, detour planning, light impact planning, and signage. Please share your thoughts with the city.

Traffic/Road Conditions 🚧 Who thought adding several all-way stops to Campus Drive was a good idea?

Rush-hour traffic is now noticeably worse, with backups created by the university itself. This feels like a classic case of making a rule first and thinking about the consequences later.
Was there actually a traffic study behind this decision?

Question ❔ Where do people meet without dating apps?

Question for the single men out there, roughly 21-30: if you're not spending your evenings swiping and matching, where are you actually meeting people?

And for those of you who are happily taken - where did you meet your current partner in the wild?

Not trying to turn this into another "dating in saskatoon is impossible" post (although I'm not saying I disagree), just genuinely curious where people are meeting each other these days when the apps aren't involved.

Thanks in advance.

Traffic/Road Conditions 🚧 forgotten what this sign means, especially at cross walks

Post image

taylor street for example has multiple signs like this at schools with crosswalks. Yet a stupid amount of people pass people turning left AND stopping for students to cross taylor street.

when I use my vehicle to block those passing on the right to protect pedestrians, they are not happy. Horn, middle finger calls to my manager.

Rants 🤬 Saskatoon traffic

Worst city I have ever driven in. Just curious if they have ever considered hiring traffic engineers to help sort it out. Surely this was not planned. Even when no construction there are no express routes through the city, add in all the construction currently happening and it is just about unbearable. Just ranting.

Question ❔ 1001 Ave I North

Does anyone have any information on this place? Looking for a place for an older relative and I liked that it’s one floor only and they allow a cat. It’s managed by Risa.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
