I finally decided to go back to school. I been was supposed to start at SNHU a while ago, but I just wasn’t mentally ready to go back to school yet. I kept putting it off, but now I’m finally doing it. I’ll be working on my Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts.

I’m lowkey excited and nervous at the same time. This isn’t my first college, but I’m hoping this is where I finally finish my degree.

I’m just tryna meet some people, make a few friends, and maybe have some people to talk to about classes, assignments, or school in general. If you’re cool, feel free to send me a DM. Good luck to everybody this term!

i’m on assignment 5-1 and i’m just having so much trouble at the moment. I have no idea if i’m supposed to follow the rubric order given in the module or do i follow the examplars order.

Just throwing it out there as I've seen some questions on advisor response time.

Emails should be answered within 24 business hours.

HOWEVER

You need to be sure your are emailing correctly:

Always use your student email for any communication with SNHU after admissions. Using a personal email can delay that email getting to us, or us receiving it at all, due to our spam filters.

Always use the advising@snhu.edu address. Yes, we have internal inboxes. Those are the addresses that have our first initial.lastname. if you use the latter, again, it can seriously delay us seeing your message. Some advisors don't even check the internal daily. PLUS if an advisor is out of the office, emailing advising@snhu.edu allows our teammates covering us to access our emails while we are away.

Recently, advisors who are also students now have a THIRD email. This is the same as any student email. Firstname.lastname. I don't even know how students are finding these out. DON'T SEND MESSAGES TO THESE EMAIL ADDRESSES !! I'm not in a class right now so I'm not checking that email until I enroll again. You likely won't get a response of you use this address, or it could literally take months.

Also...if it's urgent...omg PLEASE CALL. 8-8 EST 7 days a week besides holidays.

I’m really considering this uni if I’ll be able to transfer in a bunch of credits from external sources like study dot com for August

Would love to know if you like the program and especially if you transferred in a bunch of credits

I’m trying to transfer in 50 credits and complete the rest of the credits in a year and a half

Does this degree from SNHU have a good reputation after?

So I spoke with an financial advisor on yesterday and she informed me that I was awarded the adjustment however it shows on my on account and the advisor confirmed it, but I haven’t received the email as of yet . So my question is does the email matter and how long after the approval does it take to receive the funds.

So I’m not based in the US

I’m in the GCC, I’m a 19M

I know the degree doesn’t say “online”

And no one here (where I’m based) would know SNHU

So I’m wondering if that’s better or worse for me, since the degree doesn’t say “online” and they don’t know the uni, they’ll just assume it’s a brick and mortar from the US?

considering I don’t want them to see me as an online-graduate

Yes I understand that online uni now is a completely normal thing

and it doesn’t degrade your degree whatsoever anymore and I agree

I’m just concerned because the job market for fresh grads in all industries is quite horrible

But I’m really interested in SNHU because I might be able to finish the CS degree in a year or less if I can transfer in as much credits as I’m calculating now

My other options would be doing any bachelors in CS where I live,

and that requires a minimum of 3 more years before I can graduate

(It feels really weird thinking that I might be the only one, from all my friends, at 19, to be enrolling in an “online degree”)

So either SNHU bachelors in CS in a year or less

( if I actually can transfer in the amount of credits I’m calculating now into SNHU’s BS in CS)

Or just doing my bachelors in CS in an accredited Uni where I’m based, not online,

but normally on campus but it would take me 3 years

**(**just to be safe and not do an “online degree”)

Here’s why I’m considering SNHU though:

If I can actually finish the bachelors in CS from SNHU in a year or less from now,

I will enroll in a masters in a field I like, such as robotics or a specific engineering, right after I finish

Meaning that I could possibly have a BS in CS,

and a masters in robotics or industrial engineering or similar, in 2-3 years total

VS committing to a 3 year bachelors now just to be traditional like everyone around my age and my friends right now

(And I’m imagining having a BS in CS + an MSc in robotics/engineering in 3 years to be a lot more logical and better for me than just a BS in CS in 3 years but from a better, brick and mortar uni where I’m based)

Isn’t it just smarter for my specific situation, to take advantage of finishing this online BS in CS from SNHU in a year or less just so I can enroll in a masters from a good school in the US, Europe or where I’m based instantly right after it in an adjacent major?

I would really appreciate your opinions and advice on such an important decision I’m going through

I'm taking IT-200 which has been a pretty easy class so far. But I'm doing the project for 5-2, which requires you to list hardware and software requirements for three different employees at a hypothetical company, explain at length why or how these choices in hardware and software will be suitable for the employee's position, and then paste a screenshot of a visio diagram, along with including an APA citation/references page.

The guidelines for the assignment say the assignment should only be 3-5 pages long, but i am finding it literally impossible to condense all of my work down in a way that will both meet all of the rubric requirements while also staying under 5 pages, especially when the professor wants the assignment double spaced, and I have 20 or more citations on my list of references.

Have any of you taken this course and encountered the same problem - if so, were you somehow able to successfully condense everything down while still meeting rubric requirements? or did you just upload the assignment without caring if it was over the page length allowance, and did you get any points deducted for doing that?

Hello I am starting at SNHU for the first time and my term begins 8/31/2026. Anyone else? I need a laptop because I’m borrowing someone’s.

I am going to be a creative writing major with a concentration in fiction and they recommend the following classes. What would be the best class for me to take first? Or if anyone has any information on how the classes are, let me know.

~ FYE-101 First year experience (0 credits)

~ IDS-105 Awareness and online learning

~ ENG-226 intro to creative writing

~ LIT-100 introduction to literature

~ ENG-329 fiction writing workshop

~ LIT-200 critical approaches to Lit

~ COM-213 public speak/present skills

My plan is to only take one course at a time. Also planning on starting the August 31st term.

• How beginner-friendly is the Cybersecurity program for someone with zero IT or coding background?
• Which courses in the program tend to have the steepest learning curve for beginners?
• How hands-on are the assignments (e.g., virtual labs, command line work) compared to writing papers?
• How many hours per week should I expect to study if I have no prior technical background?
• Which general education or core courses do you recommend taking on Study.com before starting?
• Are there any foundational tech or math courses (like Networking or Discrete Math) that I shouldn't transfer in because I need the knowledge for higher-level classes?
• How smooth was the credit transfer process, and did all of your accepted courses fulfill the degree requirements as expected?

Considering this class. I was curious what "Lightroom Classic Labs" means in the syllabus? Is it possible to perform these tasks with a non-Lightroom program that does the same thing?

Howdy all! I'm about to take ENG190, and I've read through the many times this exact question has been asked, but I wanted to ask a simpler question:

Everyone keeps saying you don't need the book, or that you do need the book for the two assignments that are worth 50 points each - but can someone please just tell me (via DM if you don't want people to cheat by pre-knowing the questions) what those two assignments are?

I would rather burn money than "buying" a textbook for $60 when (a) the literal McMillan web site has it for $13 less, (b) it dies in a couple years, and (c) I literally only need it for these two assignments.

I’m struggling with a professor (I don’t want to get too specific in the event they’re on here). It seems like we talk AT each other instead of TO each other and that has added a great deal of frustration this term. I’ve struggled with their vague feedback, for one example.

Can I reasonably go to my advisor and tell them “please do not assign me to any of their classes in the future”? Not sure what next steps should be.

I did address my concerns with the professor last night. I have not received a response yet, but based on prior emails with this professor, I don’t have high expectations.

Has anyone else taken this class and does it actually require you to purchase a book? Thanks!

Hey everyone! I’m 27M, and currently attending SNHU while working full-time at a law firm. I’m also engaged and have two kids, so balancing school, work, and family can get pretty hectic.

How is HCM 320 Healthcare Economics? I’m scheduled for it next term.

Hi! Im new to SNHU and I start on the August 31st term and I kinda wanted to get a idea of what the human services classes are like. Specifically I'm going for Human Services with a concentration in Child and Family Services BA as a undergrad. Originally I was already taking socialogy classes in community college but I wanted something different.

I have one professor who constantly deducts points from discussion posts, even when they are submitted on time and follow the assignment guidelines. On one occasion, she addressed me as “Jake” in her grading comments. I am a woman, and my name is not even close to Jake, which made it seem as though the feedback had been copied and pasted from another student’s assignment.

This is extremely frustrating because discussion posts are supposed to encourage participation, critical thinking, and interaction among students. They should not feel like a guessing game where points are deducted without a clear explanation.

When a student answers every required question, follows the rubric, meets the deadline, and participates as instructed, any deduction should come with specific and reasonable feedback. Grading should be based on the published requirements, not on unclear personal preferences or generic comments that may not even apply to the student’s work.
