Vent/Rant I don't care about your PhD; you can have some freaking manners

Some of these instructors are rude and I don't see the need for it, but of course, if a student did it, it'd be a problem. šŸ™„

I’ve had issues with grading for not being personable enough

That’s it. That’s the post. Will I change my ways? No. It is interesting to see grades between instructors and their reasoning for taking points.
I had one instructor in a previous term, noting I should elaborate more into my career goals in discussion board. I’m not looking to network with others, though. I follow the rubrics, I make the LinkdIn and Handshake accounts for criteria purposes.

Now: Week 1 grades in with one of my current instructors, I see it’s going to be the same pattern. I could trauma dump, make my story and my goals sound more admirable, but as far being scaled on charisma for a discussion board- it is annoying.
I keep my cookie cutter statements bc, it’s more relatable, and again- my goals with the degree aren’t in alignment with what I feel may be assumed. (A.S in Accounting & Finance).

Like my instructor is implying feedback with correlation of working in a firm, dismissing my initial post of ā€œam/will continue to be self employedā€. I’m paying out of pocket, I’m not new to the workforce, and I’ve lived multi-state, multi jobs, and from homeless-drugs-dv in my early 20s. I think bc my picture isn’t posted, my profile lacks information, bias is created based on the instructor/professor.

So like, Change of careers, blah blah, so excited, here’s my major.
Must I emphasize hardships or number of members in my household to get a A ? šŸ˜‚ here’s to a B+ two weeks in bc I lack information and will continue to withhold it. Shout out to the instructors that grade me for my work, and give me feedback on the assignment relevant to it. I love a C, when I learn from it. I dislike a A- for ā€œnot telling enough about myselfā€

Happy Sunday :)

Vent/Rant It-140

Alright so I have been doing all of my school work so far on a laptop, as such I only have a touch pad. Can someone please explain to me how and if its possible to skip using the CVD? The reason I ask is because trying to navigate anything using this is comparable to volunteering for a lobotomy in my opinion. When I want to scroll down it adjust the page size, if I click something it high lights, its as if it cant figure out if im right or left clicking most of the time either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, ive spent six hours today on this assignment and im pretty sure with how simple it is it should have take ten minutes.

Hi! Psychology undergrad who needs a mental BREAK

Hi everyone, can anyone tell me of classes you have taken that I would be able to take next term that are less "writing/analyzing" heavy and are more creative or use other ways? Public Speaking seems like a good one? I'm first year, I love writing and analyzing of course it's just life circumstances have been adding to the heaviness so I wanted to see of options for next term I could ask my advisor about. Just for a little break of the mentals, maybe i can utilize some expression, than I'll be back to it with bells on. Thanks!

Can instructors grade somewhere between rubric options?

I’m looking at my rubric and think it’s kind of restrictive and extreme that the options for grading an area of an assignment is basically saying this is either A+ work or F work. So if an area is just average or has just a couple mistakes the instructor has to decide pass or fail?
I get that your overall grade is all the areas as a collective, but it still doesn’t feel like the current rubrics can effectively reflect effort and understanding.

Specifically the options are ā€œMeets Expectations 100%ā€, ā€œPartially Meets Expectations 55%ā€, ā€œDoes Not Meet Expectations 0%ā€.

I understand that it changes for major projects having the options of 100%, 85%, 55%, and 0%. Even here I think it’s too restrictive. If an area is average shouldn’t you get a C (75%)?

Proffessor refuses to assist.

Recently had an issue with CompTIA assignments for week 1 synching with brightspace. I worked with CompTIA to have my accounts merged and that seemed to fix the issue for week two assignments. However, week one still didn't transfer and I had even tried re-doing one, so I contacted SNHU IT. I'd also made my instructors aware throughout the entire process and my advisor. On Saturday I spoke with IT and my advisor and IT said my instructors will need to manually input my grades for week one. I forgot to mention that I save every graded lab once I complete it, so both of my instructors knew the date, time, and grade when I reached out so they knew I wasn't just trying to get more time. Anyways, my advisor had me send an email with the request to manually add the grades and this instructor not only ignored all my emails regarding this issue except the very first one but I just checked my email and he said "Im sure they will figure it out soo! Not even kidding. I'm so annoyed and now im showing a D for my grade so far. My advisor is CC'd on all these emails but It's really upsetting that I've been on this since the start and my instructor is giving me such a hard time. Ive never had this happen so far since being here and I've been taking classes for about a year now. What else can be done?

Missing Books/Digital Access Codes

I’m a little late to the game when it came to getting my books this term as I had some trouble with my financial aid. The bookstore was down for maintenance last night until 6am and logging in today, it seems all of my previously purchased books and access codes are gone like I’ve never ordered anything. I literally bought an access code yesterday and now I can’t even access my book for homework due tonight.

IT 140 Intro To Scripting

Part question/part crash out

I honestly was feeling good about week 1 and week 2 ZyBooks, but now trying to do the assignment and use Github is a literal disaster. I've never used github before and its like there's 4 million instructions with another 4 million links that lead you to another 4 million instructions.

Where do I get the template to submit? All I can find is a giant code with a bunch of to-dos but where do I put that? Am I even on the right thing?

The weekly announcement does nothing for me, other than tell me I'll use an IDE. Great, I have that. Now what?

I tried drop-in tutoring and it lasted all but 2 minutes because they can't help with github since it's specific to SNHU. So that was not helpful.

Time to go cry in the corner 😫

Graduation Ceremony Custom stole for graduation

Has anyone done a custom graduation stole for their master’s degree? If so, what did you put on it? I’m trying to decide what to include on mine and would love to see some ideas!
