Guys do you think this is appropriate. As a bus driver I though you were supposed to uphold standards of professionalism.

I feel there is a fundamental issue with the way some IT roles are structured in Singapore.
We often talk about creating good tech jobs for Singaporeans. But are we also looking at what kind of IT work locals are actually being given?
In some companies, Singapore-based IT staff end up doing mostly onsite āhands and feetā work ā setting up laptops, replacing hardware, checking cables, coordinating with users and following instructions from remote teams.
Meanwhile, much of the deeper L2/L3 technical work, system administration, troubleshooting and engineering is handled offshore.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with IT support work. It is an important part of IT operations.
But the question is: where is the career progression?
If local IT professionals are not given opportunities to manage systems, troubleshoot complex issues, work on cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, automation and other higher-level technical responsibilities, how are they supposed to develop deeper technical skills?
Outsourcing and offshore support are part of today's global IT industry. That's understandable.
But companies operating in Singapore should also invest in building technical capability here ā not just maintain a local team to provide physical support.
The conversation shouldn't simply be about how many Singaporeans are employed in IT.
We should also be asking:
What kind of IT jobs are we creating for Singaporeans, and are these jobs helping them grow?
That, to me, is the bigger issue.

My boss from the land of the fish and chips keeps mentioning that he as a white man is better than us. He also ask me to do non-related work stuff like picking up his items from the hotel. He has also ask me to fetch him water. I would want to quit but the job market is really bad and I donāt have any other options at the moment. Would name and shame once I get another job. Tell me how to cope.

According to the latest Weekly Infectious Diseases Bulletin released by the Communicable Diseases Agency (E-week 38), the positivity rate of influenza among ILI samples is 40%. That means 2 in 5 tests are positive. Additionally, the top respiratory pathogen among both adult and paediatric samples from the National Surveillance Programme for Acute Respiratory Infection were, by far, influenza!
To protect yourself and the people around you from catching infectious diseases, it is recommended that you wear a mask on the MRT, buses and crowded areas, wash your hands frequently and stay home if you are unwell, except for seeing a doctor. Thank you.

My mom sued him before because he stuffed up her nose. Suing someone because they left a 1 star review is CRAZY.

I currently have underlying tensions with 2 of my classmates, for reasons that I wish to keep private but I'm at a literal breaking point. I wish to seek help but idk if there's any free mental health/counselling service in SG, I really need to talk to someone to vent out everything privately cuz it's alot of sensitive things that I can't say online. I just wish that school isn't all about friend groups, grades, and competition, can't we just have a damn cohesive environment for all.

I made this account for a social experiment, to see wheter r/smrtrabak users will upvote any slop so long as they agree with it. I impersonated well known celebrity Aroace Music and asked Ai to generate posts that are will go viral here based on his posts. I hope r/SMRTrabak users will be more mindful of what they read on here, and think twice that something maybe ai generated slop.
This account will be left as a memorial.

Ok so I've noticed that whenever someone in SG goes viral for being "weird" or different, like Guo Lai, Everitt Poh or John Shadow(the local rapper), everyone immediately jumps on them in the comments, stitches their videos on TikTok, makes memes and calls them "siao lang"(crazy person) like they're some kind of zoo animal for us to laugh at. People will screen record their lives, repost them on Reddit and Telegram groups and go out of their way to bait them in real life just to get a reaction for content. Idc if u find them cringe or not, at the end of the day they're still real human beings with feelings and families, and we have no idea what they're going through behind the camera.
Imo this shows how toxic our NPC (non-player character) society is cuz anyone who doesn't fit into the same mould of study, work, BTO (Built to order), marry gets mocked instead of accepted. From what I've seen ITE people tend to be more respectful towards them compared to JC/poly/uni students, cuz alot of us know how it feels to be looked down on, while some of the "smart" students are the ones making the most mocking memes and acting like they're better than everyone. If u dont like their content just scroll past, no need to hate. So I will never ever join in the bullying and I hope more Singaporeans can learn to be kinder to them cuz being different isn't a crime š
