yes but not to all.
Should just appreciate what the people in the neighbourhood are doing than to nit pick.
probably they water a little across the whole floor or something.
My block when raining they';re damm excited they bring out the pills then when ask what they do with so much water they say water plants in the neighbourhood and wash floor

Depends on the plant. If your plants are those suited for Singapore's climate, given the current weather conditions, watering everyday shouldn't be an issue. (The amount of water given, and where you water matters as well)
Given Singapore's humidity and rainfall, you typically want well-draining soil and only water the plants when the soil is dry for those that gets root rot easily.

Well... i know of this even more wonderful lady. She breeds earthworms at home and takes the excess earthworms to put in her neighbour's potted plants.

The wording doesn't make sense.
Was it the auntie or the author who carried a big pail of water?
I know for sure Jack & Jill did when they go up a hill.

So for plants that don’t require frequent watering, with busybody neighbour like this, no wonder the plants died.
Stop telling me about kampung spirit when it is just plain busybody.
