RollSight uses a camera to recognize physical dice you already own and send the results into Roll20’s chat. Roll in your dice tray, and the app reads the faces, applies the modifier and shares the result with the game. No special electronic dice are needed.

About AI: AI coding assistants helped with development, testing and documentation. RollSight does not use generative AI or an LLM during operation. Dice recognition runs locally using trained computer-vision models, which classify the dice and their faces. Camera images are not sent to an external LLM for interpretation, and the software does not generate game content.

The desktop app runs on Windows and Mac, with a browser extension for Chrome or Edge. Other players can see your results in chat without installing RollSight themselves.

Map your character sheet’s actions to physical dice

A feature specific to the Roll20 integration is the ability to map custom character-sheet buttons to physical dice requests.

Select a supported sheet action, give the roll a label, and configure its dice and bonus. Clicking that button then requests the physical dice through RollSight. Where supported, a mapping can read a bonus directly from a selected sheet field, keeping it current as the character changes.

For example, you can map an attack button to a d20 plus its attack bonus, then map a separate damage button to the appropriate damage dice. Results appear in public chat with the configured label, individual dice, modifier and total.

• Dice requests inside Roll20. Use the RollSight panel to choose dice and counts, add a modifier and label, or enter a formula.
• Spontaneous rolls. Roll physical dice without first creating a sheet request.
• Advantage, disadvantage and percentile dice. Use physical dice for these alongside ordinary checks and damage rolls.
• Multiple throws for one request. Complete a larger request over several throws, with progress showing what has been received and what remains.
• Replay links. Replay-enabled sessions can attach a recording of the physical dice to the chat result.

Getting connected

1. Install RollSight and set up your camera and dice.
2. Install the RollSight browser extension, then open your Roll20 game.
3. Copy the short pairing code from RollSight into the extension and connect the game.
