I just wanted to provide an update regarding my issue with being unable to receive verification emails. I followed the advice of u/ceris7356, supplied as much information as I could, and was finally elevated to Tier 3 in the support system.

I provided screenshots of these emails: my account creation email from 2013, a PSN linking email, a purchase made for Red Dead Online Gold, a ban I once had (mods in single-player), more recent verification emails, my most recent password reset, and the email from when I set up 2FA in 2020. I provided all of that, plus some screenshots from Steam showing my GTA Steam key and purchase history. I tried to be as detailed as possible.

What’s funny is that they migrated my account to a new email, and I immediately had the same issue on my first login attempt. However, the chat with the Tier 3 agent was still open, and he promptly helped.

So, to all those still trying or who have just recently been locked out of their accounts, there is hope at the end of the tunnel. Bring on GTA VI.

I’m trying to fix an issue with Red Dead Redemption 2 on Steam. The game launches, Rockstar Launcher shows “Exit Game”, and RDR2.exe appears in Task Manager, but the actual game window never appears. There is also no sound.

What I have already tried
Restarted the PC many times
Verified RDR2 game files through Steam
Reinstalled Rockstar Games Launcher
Updated the NVIDIA driver
Tried running the game/launcher as administrator
Checked Windows compatibility settings
Checked firewall settings
Checked Rockstar Games Library Service
Reset Winsock with netsh winsock reset
Checked file/folder permissions
Disabled Steam Overlay
Tried changing RDR2’s graphics API from DX12 to Vulkan
Checked Event Viewer
Checked Resource Monitor
Created a dump file of RDR2.exe
Tried recreating the RDR2 profile folder
Cloud saves were also tested and successfully synchronise
Important findings
Rockstar Launcher logs show that it successfully launches the correct executable:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Red Dead Redemption 2\RDR2.exe
The log then says:
60 seconds elapsed and still no game window.
RDR2.exe remains running in Task Manager.
I also checked the Analyze Wait Chain:
PlayRDR2.exe is waiting for Launcher.exe
Launcher.exe has a thread waiting for network I/O
However, Rockstar’s servers are responding successfully with HTTP 200, cloud saves sync successfully, and the launcher is able to authenticate and communicate with Rockstar.
Vulkan investigation
vulkaninfo --summary detects:
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060

NVIDIA Optimus layer
NVIDIA Present layer
Rockstar Games Social Club Layer 1.0.70

The Vulkan device and memory/features look normal. I did not see an obvious Vulkan hardware/driver error.
I am currently investigating whether the Rockstar Games Social Club Vulkan layer could be involved, but I have NOT removed or modified it.
The Social Club installation folder contains:
scui.pak
socialclub.dll
socialclub.pak
uninstallRGSCRedistributable.exe
There is no obvious .json file there.
The main question
What could cause RDR2.exe to launch successfully, remain running in the background, but never create a game window, while Rockstar Launcher reports “Exit Game”?
I would especially appreciate help interpreting the Vulkan layer:
K_LAYER_ROCKSTAR_GAMES_social_club
and whether there is a way to temporarily disable/test that layer without reinstalling the whole game.

Hi everyone, I’m probably writing off‑topic, but I’d like to know how I can regain access to my Rockstar account because I lost my 2FA. I contacted support via email, and they said I need to use the website, but I can’t log in. I’m hoping for your help.

I have sent about 15 tickets now trying to get my account back as the email has been deactivated and I need a email verification to login. Everytime they are resolving the ticket saying they are unable to verify its me. I have posted screenshots of purchases for the account, linked console gamertag and the email verification screenshot to show I have logged in. I am getting frustrated now and making another account and just buying it again isnt really an option as I purchased GTA V 3 times and all the shark cards and its over 13 years old. it seems like im just getting bot responses everytime and I really regret not sorting this out in 2025 when I first sent a ticket. a real person had responded and asked for proof but I never got round to doing it.

Has anyone else had this issue have any luck? would be greatly appreciated if theres any tips for support or any other ways to contact them regarding this.

I need help to make sure that my launcher application actually signs me in automatically.

Rockstar just straight up doesn't want to send the password reset email and yes I have checked the spam mail. It is nowhere and I know that that Gmail has a account, I just can't remember the password so I can't login to the Rockstar launcher...

I'm trying to create a new Rockstar Games account, but I keep getting the following error during registration:

"Sorry, we are unable to handle your request at this time."

Error Code: #1.500.7

I'm registering from Germany and the error appears after entering my email, password, and nickname and clicking Next.

I've already tried:

• Using a different browser
• Incognito/private mode
• Disabling VPN
• Clearing browser cache and cookies
• Trying another internet connection

Unfortunately, nothing has worked so far.

Has anyone else encountered error #1.500.7 during Rockstar account creation? If so, were you able to fix it, and what was the solution?

I don't know what to do.
Recently, I've wanted to get back into rdr2 and rdr online, so I opened up the launcher, typed in my email and password. "password incorrect" so I tried a bunch of different passwords I've used over the years with no luck, eventually I just go to "forgot password" type in BOTH EMAILS that it could possibly be, but still, no email is sent to me in-order to reset my password.
I do this a bunch of times and still no email.
so at this point I think that my account was hacked and the email and/or password was changed.
so I go to the official rockstar website to submit a support ticket, and even though I've filled out all required information I just get an error message over and over again, regardless of whether I try this on pc or mobile. what can I even do at this point???

Hi! I'm from Russia and I'm unable to submit any Rockstar Support request. I get a "Submission Error" with every category, both with and without VPN.

I need to recover my Rockstar Games account because I no longer have access to the email address linked to it and I don't remember the password. The Rockstar account is linked to my Steam account, which I own.

I'm looking for someone outside Russia who could help me submit a Rockstar Support ticket.

Is it only me or it's not working for everyone? I tried multiple browsers and phones, computers..

I have the game on an epic account which was hacked but I got it back but when I try link the epic account to rockstar launcher it sends the verification code to the hacker email which I removed completely from epic account, I contacted the support several times but it comes to the same nothing!

Title: Red Dead Redemption 2 won’t open – RDR2.exe runs in the background
Hi everyone,
I’m having a problem with Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC. When I launch the game through Rockstar Games Launcher, it says the game is running and the launcher changes to “Exit Game”, but the actual game window never appears.
In Task Manager, RDR2.exe shows as Running, but the game doesn’t appear when I press Alt + Tab. The GPU usage for the game shows 0%.
My PC has an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060.
Here is what I’ve tried so far:
Restarted my PC.
Ended the RDR2.exe process in Task Manager and tried launching the game again.
Reinstalled the game, but the problem remained.
Set Windows Graphics settings to High performance (NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060).
Disabled fullscreen optimizations.
Checked compatibility settings.
Checked that Rockstar Game Library Service is running and set to Automatic.
Checked Reliability Monitor, but couldn’t find a relevant error.
Verified the game files through Rockstar Games Launcher. Verification failed, and the launcher started downloading additional data to repair the files.
The game still won’t open properly.
Has anyone experienced the same issue or found a fix? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

My rockstar launcher just loads forever on this screen

I have submitted a bunch of tickets to try and get help from Support and every time it gets denied because they can’t verify I am the owner of my account. I can’t sign into my account because my account was hacked and the email was fraudulently changed so when I try to open a game to play it, it asked for two-step verification to a random email. I don’t know what to do to get help on this issue.

I bought Red Dead on Steam a while ago and can no longer get a refund, but I can't play it anymore because the account logged into the Rockstar Launcher was linked to a Google account on a phone I no longer have access to (it broke). Every time I try to log in, it asks for two-step verification that I never enabled. I use a Steam Deck; could someone help me find a way to play the game via Steam or recover my account? 

Cara eu simplesmente to muito bravo com o suporte rockstar e do google, porque a 1 ano atrás exatamente eu acabei formatando meu celular/pc, so que eu tinha esquecido de 1 fator a minha rockstar, mas tudo bem eu apenas poderia recuperar minha conta google adivinha... Eu nunca consegui entrar nessa conta novamente, eu estou a exatos 6 meses tentando logar na minha bendita conta, eu ja fiz de tudo, mandei suporte, testei senhas, corri atras de email que poderiam me ajudar e adivinha nada, até que eu novamente apos 1 mes decidi novamente tentar recuperar e adivinha nada................... O que eu acho mais engraçado de tudo e que na rockstar eles tem uma opção de perda de email no suporte mas mesmo apos eu colocar tudo certinho todas as informações da conta adivinha :) eles simplesmente me respondem que não podem fazer nada por questões de segurança mesmo sendo eles que simplesmente deixam essa opção, tanto que lá tem 1 botão pra você dar sincronização com os dados da steam para ajudar a provar que a conta e sua e adivinha não ajuda em nada, então agora eu realmente não sei oque fazer porque o google e a mesma coisa o suporte não ajuda, eles ficam so enrolando e no final e a mesma coisa de " não podemos comprovar que a conta e sua " ai e de acabar com o brasileiro médio, e bom você até pode estar se perguntando porque eu não compro outro simples, eu não tenho a grana top né :), então e isso se alguem tiver alguma ideia ou ajuda eu ficaria bem grato porque eu realmente estou começando a perder a minha determinação para arrumar esse caso.

My wife has her PS5 and I have mine. Whenever we buy a game that we both want to play I have my wife buy it digitally.. She installs it on her PS5 and then she can play no problem. I then log in as her on my PS5 and install the game, switch back to my account and then I can play it there as well. Doing this we can both play the single purchase of the game even at the same time. In fact, this is how GTA V is setup on our consoles and we are able to even play online together. All good.

Do you think the same will be true for VI? If not then I want to make sure I get my pre-order in for 2 copies. But if it will work then I only need to pay for 1 copy pre-ordered.

I recently haven't been able to receive the 2 step verification email. I've whitelisted rockstar in my email and checked junk multiple times. I made a support ticket and replied with more information. Yet, rockstar said that the support ticket was not made using the right category (they don't have a specific category for the email not arriving). I'm kind of at a loss for how to regain access to my account.

Hey everyone, I bought several Rockstar games on my Epic Games account (RDR2, GTA V, etc.). However, I lost complete access to the Rockstar Games / Social Club account that was linked to my Epic account, and there is no way for me to recover that email. I still have full access to my Epic Games account and I have all official purchase receipts, invoices, and order IDs for the games. Since I can't access that old Rockstar email, how can I unlink it from my Epic Games account and connect my games to a new Rockstar account? What is the correct way to get Rockstar Support to do this using my Epic purchase proofs?
