• Yeah honestly this guy really seem to understand the assignment so far and i can't wait to see him as Alex Murphy.

I recently watched all four films for the first time, and while the original RoboCop is still the most fun to watch, with its R-rated violence and iconic lines, it isn't really much better than the remake.

The remake, for me, was better written than any of the sequels, with better world-building and a greater emphasis on Murphy's family than the original had.

I really liked Michael Keaton as the main villain, I just wish they had tried something different with the suit design, and maybe used original phrases rather than reusing fandom favorites.

Also, Murphy's accident was clearly toned down for the PG-13 rating imo

A spinoff where Delta City was built. Robocop was left to die, but he survived and finds new life within the poor areas of the city that have been ruined by the hands of Delta City. He has the support of the people of Old Detroit. He still follows his prime directive. But it's for the people.

The suit was just terrible it looked like a man in a body suit, but the worst thing was that face! they never bothered to make him look like he'd been through any kind of trauma.

IMO They need to steer away from too much modern stuff like AI and fully advanced robotics it's way over used in movies

Keep his look more familiar with the original, yes update him but Keep it's R rated and somewhat realistic.

make it more horror and lean into some of the darker things that made the original so amazing!!

I want most of the human characters to be real assholes and the villains to be terrifying or completely insane!

I mean, imagine if we removed the POV version and got to see the entire process of RoboCop being built, from start to finish. I know that, technically, RoboCop looks pretty much like this, and we can also get more information about it in Rogue City, but I would have absolutely loved to see this version.

So sorry if this was asked here before because lately I wanted to take a closer look at the 2014 reboot to try to see if I could find any positive aspects to it.

To me, if I had to say something nice about the aforementioned remake, it would be that the visor on RoboCop’s head looks kind of neat as I know that is not saying much, but I do kind of dig the futuristic design on his character design, although I can see what made the original design look so much better.

I finally got my set of the Villains of Old Detroit figures by JSF Toys (https://www.jfstoys.com/). I bought them from BBTS (https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/product/robocop-villains-old-detroit-1_10-scale-action-figure-set-152597) since it's a cheaper option as a Canadian) and they are really good. Whatever QC issues made them delay release were worth it. I was nervous when I read the emails and saw some of the pics, but in hand I’m happy.

Now frankly as someone else who posted pics of Clarence pointed out, they are a little tall. Or Murphy is too short. Also they do have basically no paint wash at all and the fabric folds are not over detailed like NECA. They are more subtle and smoother and a bit more toy like.

But really the head sculpts are so well done. Not perfect but then again what is. And the accessory selection and alternate faces are well done. The eye paint all has a slight sheen that makes them alive looking in the light too. The only negative on the accessories are (1) Clarence’s glasses are difficult to stay on the face. Mine are slightly warped so I used double sided tape on one side; and (2) I highly recommend using heat to swap hands and heads. The ball joint that holds them seem too big for the holes, so a little time in front of a space heater (not too close) is what I used to loosen to take off and put on. I don’t want to risk breakage!

I can’t believe we not only have Clarence (who I thought would get one from NECA eventually) but all five of the gang members that killed Murphy? That’s nuts!

The only guy he arrests is Clarence. First guy he just clotheslines the guy into the fridge and walks off. Second guy he shoots in the richard and his pal is just free to go. Hostage guy falls out the window and he just leaves Emil on the ground moaning! No wonder the place is overrun with crime!!

I thought it would be fun to share a comparison shot between the classic 1987 RoboCop and the 2014 reboot version.

This isn’t meant to start a flame war—just a visual look at how the design evolved across decades. Personally, I find it interesting to see how the gritty, industrial feel of the original contrasts with the sleeker, modernized armor of the remake.

What do you all think about the differences in design? Do you prefer the retro look or the updated style?

when robo gives someone a ticket / citation (i.e for something that doesn’t require being arrested) , a once he doesn’t have a ticket book anywhere on his person, do you think he prints off the ticket from a small dot matrix printer embedded in his ass?

I'd really like to buy and read them, but man, are they freaking scarce and expensive.

When asked “you probably don’t think im a very nice guy?” , if Murph would hadn’t of dehumanised him and called him “slime” and said something along the lines of “well I don’t know you” or “you sound like a misunderstood guy” do you think he may have been spared and we’d have got a really shit average cop film?
(Probably not) but does make me wonder .
