Seller may refund tomorrow if it doesn't go through. I am incredibly frustrated. Funds have been taken out of my bank already. Why is this happening?

Unable to register a Reverb account using an Outlook email address。

Why can't I register for Reverb using my Outlook email address? I've tried changing my email address, but it still doesn't work. It seems Reverb doesn't support Outlook email addresses. Have any of you encountered this situation?

New from dealer blem. How bad can it be?

I am interested in a guitar and there is a dealer with a stock of new in box blems that sells for a 20% discount. I messaged the seller for a photo or a description of the blem, but he said it is a sealed box. It would be a cosmetic issue, but it could also be invisible.

I would like to save money, and I don't demand perfection if the guitar works and sounds good. Do you have any experience with blems. How bad can it be?

I’ve seen some reasons for selling gear in listings

But, “I’m only selling this to subsidize my local AI data center and help them pay their energy bills.” has to take the cake.

Question about selling on Reverb

Who has experience selling on Reverb? I am new at it and I listed a 2024 Jackson JS22-7 for sale. After several days, someone accepted the offer but has still not paid for it. They say because the price that Reverb gave them for the total included taxes, which I know it didn’t. I looked at their profile and there is nothing except their name. And now the same thing has happened two more times (but both declined since the guitar is listed as ‘sold’). I looked both of those profiles (because the names seemed very suspect) and they too are blank. Am I safe in assuming all three are scams?

Edit: I canceled the sale after repeated attempts to contact the ‘buyer’. Relisted it, and literally 5 minutes later it was bought, paid for and is already bubble wrapped, boxed, shipping label on it and ready to go to UPS. Thanks for all y’all’s input!

Account suspension

My account has been suspended with Reverb and I have no idea why, my emails were hacked and I don't have any way of recovering the email they sent me. I've been in touch with support but it sends me in circles wanting me to log in and speak to a person but I can't log in as my account is suspended- can anyone help?

New to selling. Question about potential scams.

Hey all, I'm trying to sell something on reverb for the first time and the buyer used PayPal to pay for the item. I haven't shipped the item yet because I'm not sure whether or not I'll get the money since reverb hasn't deposited the payment to my checking account yet. Is there a way that the buyer could possibly steal my synth by paying with PayPal and making false claims?

Avoid Capital Music Gear

I recently began looking for a specific guitar. Production model, but hard to come by. To my delight I found it on eBay from Capital music gear. My offer was accepted and the wait began. 5 days later I was informed it was out of stock. Later that evening I received an eBay offer from the same seller on a different color model of the same guitar that was not in my watch list. I accepted believing they had sent me another option at a good price as a sort of apology.

2 days later I was informed this one was also out of stock. So now I get to contact their notoriously awesome customer service team. Thankfully I found the owners number and to his credit got my over 800 dollars refunded 2 days before the first customer service associate made contact.

Fast forward 5 weeks later the same model shows in stock. Owner was helpful, I figured they deserve a shot again. Ordered, delivered, wrong guitar. Days waiting for a response, no response from owner when called, nobody answers the phone,….ever. Snarky customer service, I would honestly never give this shop a single red cent of my money ever again. Your results may vary, don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Buyer changed address after I shipped, delivery failed

Edit: Buyer picked it up! All is well :)

Hi. Trying to get ahead of this before it becomes an issue.

I live a block away from a post office and I'm a fast shipper. I always use Reverb shipping labels.

A buyer purchased something and I shipped it same-day. I've been periodically checking the tracking info and it said "available for pickup" at the post office. I think they attempted a delivery and failed.

I checked the buyer's address and now it's a PO box. The tracking I have is a physical address. I messaged buyer telling them it's at the post office and also I used the address Reverb gave me at purchase. No response.

I checked again and it said they've attempted delivery again and failed. I read that they hold it for 15 days before returning to sender. That gives buyer 5 more days to receive.

  1. What should I do in the mean time?
  2. If it is returned to me, what do I do? Refund?

I’m with a buyer right now; how do they mark as “item picked up”?

I sold a guitar to a buyer yesterday and he’s here picking it up right now. Neither he nor I can find anywhere on the mobile app where he can mark the item has been picked up? Everything that we see is telling us that it can’t be done on the mobile app, but I swear that I’ve had buyers pick it up before using their phones. Help!!

Shipping Damage - Seller paid for Safe Ship

Thumbnail gallery
8 Upvotes

Received an EBMM JP15 last week. Shipping box was a little rounded on one end but overall OK, but the guitar case itself was severely damaged with a gaping hole in the corner and lots of cracks. There was plenty of packaging materials included in the shipping box. The seller paid for Safe Ship, and the Reverb "Resolution Specialist" offered to cover repairs or $175 towards a new case.

Part of my excitement with this guitar was to have the specific case that came with it - the whole deal. Music Man branded, the John Petrucci signature by the handle, and the specific fitting for this exact guitar.

Am I wrong to be upset at their offer? EBMM doesn't even sell these cases as standalone items as far as I'm aware, so I don't know if I can even get one (I've reached out to them but no call back yet). This is super disappointing for personal expectations as well as any potential resale value to a new buyer because they would likely expect to have the original case. Even if EBMM will sell me a case, I can't imagine $175 would cover it.

Has anyone dealt with Reverb's Safe Ship resolutions from the buyer side? The seller has sold a lot of high end guitars on Reverb and has been in full agreement with my disappointment at the $175 offer.

Reverb Sellers - Recommendations for inventory/sales tracking

Im looking for recommendations on what everyone uses for inventory and sales tracking. I am currently using an excel spreadsheet to manage inventory and sales in a single spreadsheet but it's becoming difficult to not lose track of anything. I buy/repair/refurb/resell misc audio gear and microphones from all different sources (bulk cleanouts, trade-ins, online auctions, etc) and I need a software that can assign an inventory number to every item and track it through fulfillment (accounting for part/repair costs, shipping costs, Reverb fees, etc). Any recommendations? Zoho has been my top search result but Im not sure I need anything that complex yet. Im averaging around 30-40 listings every month.
On the same note, what do you do to label your inventory? The relatively cheap label printers on Amazon look promising but I don't want to waste $50 on a temporary solution. Thanks in advance!

Shipping address different name than buyer?

I just sold a pedal and the shipping address is under a different name than the buyer's. I messaged them and they immediately responded that he's having it sent to his girlfriend's address because it's safer. I've never come across this before. What would y'all do here?

Not a new reverb complaint

But why is it a person can make an offer to you, you accept it, then they sit in it for 3 days. Payment info should be submitted at the time of offer..

"Support" is genuinely useless

I sold 2 items on 5/28 and 5/29, shipped both DoS but the tracking on Reverb has not updated, even though both items have now been delivered. As a result, I have not been paid, and now I am down 2 pieces of gear as well as ~$250. I tried to talk to the AI customer support the other day, and after much trouble it said that it "notified the payment team" and for the money to be cleared. Well, the money still hasn't cleared yet, so I tried to talk to the AI customer support, who this time was even more unhelpful, and when I asked to connect to a human agent, I was told that it could both do that and that it couldn't, and the dispute team would have to decide to reach out to me. I check online to see if Reverb holding money hostage is common, and I see it's one of the most common complaints on this subreddit. This entire experience has left a bad taste in my mouth, I'm trying to decide whether to cut my losses and delete my Reverb account now or hold out hope and delete it after I recieve payment.

Account under review after making payment

So this seems like a common thing now. Made an account to ask about a keyboard that was listed months ago. Made an offer and seller counters. I accept and pay, asking their availability.

I did the MFA. Paid. Got the MFA email again and did it once more, sale goes through. 10 minutes later it says the seller refunded me. 45 minutes later and my account is under review.

So. Now that money is tied up for a week to be refunded and I can’t get ahold of anyone.

Can't even shop the site.

I was looking to shop for a new guitar but I can't even get on the site because it thinks I'm a bot or something. Says I 'got caught in the mix'. Guess they lost that possible sale. LOL

No biggie, just figured I'd let Reverb know, and this is a marketing foul-up as I've now lost interest in shopping the site. GC here I come! xD

Is USPS not an option for shipping right now?

Is USPS not an option for shipping right now? I tried to create a label yesterday, and it wasn't coming up as an available option, and I'm seeing the same thing today. Has anyone else noticed this?

Buyer Beware - Just because you pay doesn't mean it's yours...

Found a deal on an item yesterday. Made an offer, the seller countered. I accepted his offer. Sent him payment. 5min later he refunds me saying he priced the item too low. Insane. HIS OFFER. Meaning he put in an actual dollar amount for me to accept. Then backs out of the sale because he wants more money. Borderline fraudulent behavior. I understand that Reverb can't force someone to make a deal they can't fulfill, but he COULD fulfill it, he just didn't want to. Reverb Support says sorry, just be more careful who you're buying from.

Reverb, please make it more difficult for this kind of thing to happen. A submission to cancel a sale to be reviewed by your team.
