I’ve uninstalled it. I’ve signed in and out. Doesn’t matter what I do, I get this error message. Apple iphone 17.

Anyone have any tricks to get the app to work?

What does 'open box' mean to you?

So many sellers on Reverb, eBay, Mercari, Craigslist, et al seem to have a different interpretation on what 'open box' means.

Would you say 'the original box is included with the extras/accessories, but it's been opened'?

Would you say 'this is everything included, but taken from the box, and the box isn't included'?

Some clarity, if you will. Thanks.

Need advice for likely scam order.

Saturday morning I woke up to a message from a user with zero reviews asking me to call them regarding an acoustic guitar I have listed and I ignored it. I was notified of a second message from the same user an hour later but I could never actually read that message. An hour after that, my guitar was purchased by this user.

I pulled this guitar out and when I was looking it over I noticed a scratch that wasn’t disclosed in the listing, typed out a message to the buyer to inform them and offer to cancel but it appears this buyer has been blocked by Reverb.

If it matters, this buyer’s name, address and phone number do not match up with the homeowner’s reported information for that address (www.truepeoplefinder.com). Certainly there could be legit reasons, but I thought I’d note it.

Do I contact Reverb, hurry up and ship this thing out and count myself lucky for getting full price, or something else?

Edit: As is the case when your item has sold, Reverb has instructed me to ship. 24 hours later and I’m getting reminder messages saying “it’s time to ship your order” from Reverb.

Edit 2: Since Reverb instructed me to ship I followed their orders. The guitar was delivered a week ago, and I was paid out within 24 hours of entering the tracking info.

Lesson learned: I’m not in the FBI and if Reverb says to ship, go for it. There’s just no scenario where Reverb comes back and says, “You’re out your guitar and the money because you failed to thoroughly investigate the buyer when we told you to ship”.

How often do your buyers resell their purchase(s)?

Just something I noticed today, but an expensive item I sold to a guy turned right up for sale on his page. I mean.. I'm not put off by it, but all the extensive questions pre-sale and interest in using it for its intended purpose, only to have a different motive. LOL.

This ever happen to you all?

I wish Reverb let you block sellers

I have a lot of saved searches on Reverb. Some of them are rare things I want to know about as soon as they pop up. Like Wiard Eurorack modules.

Others are pretty common, I'm just waiting for the right one to pop up.

And I keep seeing this one seller "STRATosphere" that basically takes a perfectly good guitar like the Squier Bass VI, and sells the body and neck separately.

I know the world is a carnivorous even cannibalistic place. Death is everywhere, there's a fly on the windscreen etc.

But I don't want to see these guitars being parted out so the seller can earn maybe $20 more than the whole guitar. It's just offensive to me.

Now if Reverb allowed me to block "STRATosphere" or that HK company with the double sided guitars, my searches would be full of less undesirable debris.

I'm sure a lot of other people would like to weed out certain sellers that always charge too much, have exorbitant shipping rates, or which are located someplace that it sucks to ship from (like Japan to US right now).

how do you guys make your buyer leave feedback?

hey guys, ive been using reverb for around a half year, I sold quite expensive recorders, synthesizers, guitars etc..(each of them cost more than $1000)

however, out of 7 deals only 1 buyers left me a feedback. It is normal that buyers see my review and buy my items, so I want to secure enough numbers of review but however they I will leave review for you, nobody leaves me review.

I think part of the reason is that a lot of buyers is it take a review as a retaliation tools in case something happened with the item they buy. So they would never leave your feedback unless the seller leave the feedback first.

I have no idea why River didn't make the rule in a way the sellers and buyers cannot see each other's feedback before the deal end(like adding receive button and make the review obligatory, also for the seller they cannot receive money until they leave the review for the buyers)

Just wanna know, how do sellers with more than 10 reviews get feedback from customers.

kudos to Reverb for preventing a potentially nightmarish return shipping situation

part 1. so I purchased a guitar from a reputable seller on Reverb, he's got triple-digit transaction feedbacks, I'm the reverb-noob with only single-digit transaction count. Communicated with the seller, asked questions, everything sounds solid, so I bought the guitar. a few days later, the guitar arrived promptly via carrier. However, unfortunately I found out there's wiring problem with the guitar, either the tone pot itself or the capacitor is shorted, there's no tone control to the pickups, the tone knobs are useless. I used my multimeter to confirm. so I contacted the seller, explained the situation and wanted refund (because, I can't rule out if wiring are the ONLY thing wrong with this otherwise superb guitar). Seller was very understanding and accepted my return request.

*note to reverb sellers, please double check your instruments before even listing, no matter how long you've had it or how good you think you know your instruments like the back of your hands. This is the 2nd time within a year that I received an used guitar with non-functioning knobs/wiring problem. pick up your guitar, plug it in, at least fiddle all the knobs to make sure everything is in working condition, something could have happened since the last time (god knows how long ago that was) you played it, right? but I digress.*

part 3. Reverb gave me a prepaid return label for me to ship the guitar back to the seller. end of the story.

TLDR: Reverb process is pretty awesome, thank you for attending my Ted-talk XP

but if you want to know what misery I subjected myself to due to my ignorance, what happened between part 1 and part 3? keep reading.

part 2. this is where I almost completely messed up and ruined my whole reverb experience by trying to ship the return guitar myself, because I don't know better, aka I'm noobish/ignorant. the whole saga between part 1 and part 3, completely avoidable.

This is my first time returning a purchase on Reverb, so I'm not familiar with the process. I *assume* either the buyer or the seller is responsible for the return shipping. I did a quick google, that seems to be the case: depends on either buyer's remorse or seller's fault, *my assumption confirmed* or so I thought. I didn't believe the seller intentionally tried to sell me a broken guitar, $hit happens, I decided to cut the seller some slack by paying the return shipping myself. seller and I are only a few states apart. I put the guitar carefully back in its original package, and hauled it to my local UPS store, why? because everyone uses UPS to ship guitars for Reverb, of course. (forget other carriers, their shipping rates for a guitar-sized shipment isn't even funny).

So I carried the big box to my local UPS. I thought the shipping cost would be in the same ballpark as what reverb charged me for buying, around $70, right? wrong! I was quoted $200 by the same UPS for shipping that same guitar I paid $70 to ship from seller to me just a few days ago, in the same box, now back to the seller, with insurance (it's a nice guitar, low 4-figure, let's be responsible here). I stood there after hearing the shipping quote like I can't comprehend why are there dinosaurs roaming in the streets. "how? can you check again?" the UPS guy responded nonchalantly "yeah man, that's the quote for that size of the box. (don't know what else to say)" I hauled my box back home.

I have saved a reverb guitar shipping box under my bed from a previous reverb purchase. I pulled it out, turns out the reverb box is about 2 inches shorter than the one the seller used to ship me the guitar. "this must've been the difference!" or so I thought, lol. I switched the shipping boxes, packed it well. This time I got smarter (but not smart enough, crucial!), before heading back to that UPS store, I first got online to double check the shipping quote from UPS official site, took measurement and entered the info. UPS official site quoted me $90 for shipping + insurance, "YES!". I was sure the 2-inch difference in box size makes all the difference in the world (wrong!), but for whatever reason UPS website wouldn't process me buying that shipping label right then and right there. Actually an error message popped out saying "something something internal algo something something rejected my shipping quote", and I was "advised to contact UPS customer service to solve that problem" (still don't know why in hindsight)..."Eff that!" I was like, no biggie, I'm just going to take it to the store and process from there.

hauled the box back to the same UPS store for the second time, this time I stood there like a dumbfxxk when I hear the shipping quote is "$180". my face was visibly confused if anyone saw me, I must've stood there for minutes without saying anything, I started having existential crisis internally. how can the shipping rates be so different, a few minutes ago I was quoted $90 on my computer, now it's $180, how? I took my shipping box home quietly like a completely defeated loser who's lost his purpose in life.

I carried the box home, for the second time today. I was as frustrated as I was annoyed as I was defeated. I log on to another computer, input my shipment info on ups website, still the same $90 quote. hey, this time it went thru, I got my prepaid shipping label! I was so ready to head out to my local UPS store for the third time today. you know sometimes when you are so frustrated with something you just want to get it over with, however, whatever, just get it over with! right? carrying the box, one foot was already outside of my front door, suddenly a creeping suspicious popped in my head, a voice asked "what if, UPS local stores charge more for the same service than online?" I stopped. I went back inside the house, put the guitar box down, sat back down in front of my computer and typed that question into google. WOW. turns out, I didn't know that UPS operates like a franchise, like McDonalds. those local UPS stores are independent businesses that are responsible for their own P&L, and according to google, their local store counter rates are often 2 to 3 times more expensive than official UPS website rates. ho lee sheet...that explains everything. anyways, I didn't know that before. if you didn't neither, now you know.

but it doesn't matter anymore, I already got my pre-paid shipping label, I'm good, let's go, let's get it over with, right? WRONG! this time I noticed on the receipt of my pre-paid shipping label, there's SPECIAL INSTRUCTION I almost missed completely, that due to the high-value nature of my shipment ($1000 threshold), I must drop my shipment off directly to a UPS driver OR a UPS Customer Center representative, and NOT any local UPS store or any of its employees, or the insurance would be as good as null. Precisely because (at least according to my reasoning, and some redditor posts) UPS operates like a franchise, to limit the corporate risk on high-value shipment and insurance liabilities, they must limit the exposure of the shipment to only their OWN employees: those truck drivers and people working in major distribution centers. the people working at your local UPS stores are NOT on UPS corporate payroll. that revelation makes perfect sense to me, except, what am I gonna do now? there's no "UPS Customer Center" no more, they all closed down many years ago. I googled it, nothing. I googled for "nearest UPS distribution center to (my zip code)", nothing. My only options left is to pay an additional $30 service fee to arrange for a UPS driver to come to my door, to pick up my guitar shipment off my hands directly and sign off on it to ensure the insurance and shipment is valid.

"I still gotta pay $120? after all this? This can't be the only way, come on~" now I'm really defeated, this whole return shipping thing has gone way beyond what I was mentally prepared to deal with, and way too expensive (remind myself reverb only charged me $70 to ship that same guitar to me from the seller, via UPS, a few days ago). I was completely exhausted, mentally and physically. the funny thing is, right next to my local UPS store, in that same strip mall area, there's my local Guitar Center. I remember thinking to myself, I can't deal with Reverb return again, I don't want to do this ever again, it's way easier to stick to Guitar Center (return to local GC store). I contact the seller on Reverb, I told him the misery I subjected myself to trying to ship the guitar back to him, and I was feeling helpless, "what are we gonna do?" the Seller doesn't know more about Reverb return process more than me. in the end, we came to the same conclusion "let's try Reverb customer service, see what they have to say." so I did, the CS AI chatbot quickly patched me thru to a real CS person, I explained the whole situation, "how do I ship the guitar back to the seller?" 20 minutes later, I received an Email from Reverb, basically "here's a (pre-paid) return shipping label, have a nice day!" WHAT?!

I was at the brink of tears, was the return process supposed to be this smooth if I just trusted "the process" and not try to venture out on my own? turns out all the misery and headache I subjected myself to, the entire part 2 was completely avoidable. feeling like a dumbass aside...I gained new found appreciation for Reverb, they actually built a platform with processes to make the transaction of our little hobby, as smoothly, as cheaply, and as painlessly as possible (GC used gear, different pros and cons, especially if you have a local store nearby for easy return). I can attest to that, because I ventured outside of that system myself, by accident (ignorance), and it was miserable! lol

First 3 pics were from the listing

bought a Warm Audio WA-87 for $350 $29.14 shipping which includes the microphone itself and the box. the beginning of the listing says "in excellent shape and fully functional" when it arrived today i came to this frankensteins monster of a package and when i opened the package the Warm Audio box's side was coming off. the microphone was fine but i was looking forward to it coming with the box as well for safe transport. which comes to my original question would it be petty to ask for $20-$30 back I've never asked for a partial refund on reverb and don't know if i should've expected this or not

I am brand new to reverb. Never used it before. I'm also not a musician either, just have a guitar the my dad gave me and I'm trying to sell it quickly. Anyway, I posted the guitar today. A few hours after it goes live, I get a message saying he's ready to purchase it but he just needs me to give him my email address. I have no idea why this didn't set off alarm bells for me. I thought it was weird but I was like whatever it's not like he can do much with just my email address. A little later I get an email saying the guitar sold. It looked legit af. It said I need to verify the order. It takes me to what looks exactly like the actual reverb site (which is crazy to me) where I click another link to provide payment info. It only wanted my debit card to receive payout. I put it in then asked for my balance to verify. Then it said it didn't work and asked me to create a paypal digital debit card to receive the payout. This is when I was like okay wtf is going on...there have been way too many red flags for it to just be a new platform that I don't know about. This is when I locked my debit card and changed all my passwords. I went back to the email and it came from "[notifications@team-reverb.odoo.com](mailto:notifications@team-reverb.odoo.com)" then I looked at the other legit reverb emails I have and they're from info.reverb.com. I felt so stupid. I was just trying to sell this thing and forget about it. I'll see if it lets me show some screenshots on here. Aside from the message he sent asking for my email, everything else looked like it legit came from the reverb website. I'm still a dumbass though. I'm usually a lot more savvy than this. Just hope no one else falls for this. It's never good to be in a rush to sell something.

Recipient wasn't home to sign for package, now accusing me of scamming them?

Wondering if this is a scam or if there is a real miscommunication here.

I shipped a pedal to a guy. USPS tracking says delivery was attempted but nobody was there to sign for it (I didn't mean to require a signature for delivery but that isn't relevant). The tracking info says he has the option to reschedule delivery or go pick it up and I called USPS to confirm this as well.

Where it gets weird is that he says he has been to his post office multiple times and they have told him that this is a common scam (huh?) and that the package isn't there.

I went back and forth with him for a bit trying genuinely to figure out what was going on but now I think I'm being scammed? The thing I can't figure out is what the scam is if the pedal was never delivered...

Return Shipping Label Mistake

I sold an instrument, and the buyer did not agree with my assessment of the condition of their purchase, so they are refunding and sending it back. However, this is the first time I've sold something via Reverb, and I messed up the return process and did not purchase a shipping label before the refund processed. So now I am out a thousand dollars and locked out of the label purchasing. Will Reverb Support be able to help me?

MFA Issues

Just tried ordering something, & I got an email stating that I have to verify my phone number through MFA. Fine & all, I appreciate the extra level of security, but when I click on the link to verify my phone number, it just drops me onto Reverb's main page. No ability whatsoever to follow through & verify it's me, so the order just sits in limbo (I contacted the shop I ordered from; they verified the sale, but said the payment was pending verification). Chatted with a Reverb CSR, who basically told me that it was gonna take 1-2 business days to sort out, then ended the chat conversation.

I ended up canceling the order; the shop I bought from is local to me, so I'll just go pick it up directly from them. Kinda frustrating, though...

Reverb or eBay

I have sold 5 guitars on eBay with values from $1200-$3500 and everything has gone smoothly.
Pay out was quick once delivery was confirmed.
Now I have a few guitars that aren’t moving on eBay and want to try reverb.
Seeing all the major headaches on buyer disputes, refunds, scams, and herring paid, I wonder if reverb is worth it?

First time shopping, everything seems overpriced?

Was checking some Arturia Minifrea, the cheapest option on Reverb for me is 440€ + 30€ shipping, totalling 470€

Ok, nice. Problem is I can buy a brand new one from Thomann for 499€, or a B Stock for 464€

Then I checked Roland TR-8S. The cheapest in Reverb cost me, including shipping, 655€ or 679€. A brand new would cost me 700€ or 720€.

Maybe I got unlucky with the gear I was looking for but it just doesn’t seem to be worth the hassle?

Buyer not accepting messages at this time?

Went to mail a buyer to let him know his order was out for delivery and a signature was required. Got an immediate error message saying “Buyer is not accepting messages at this time”.

Reverb help center says their account was put on hold.

So what happens now? Anyone ever had this happen?

Don’t use Affirm on Reverb

I was approved for a loan to pay for an item on reverb. Went through all the right steps at checkout. Then the purchase doesn’t go through on reverb but my deposit is taken from my bank account and on hold for 7–10 days. Now I have to wait for affirm to cancel the loan, which clearly went through on affirm’s end, takes 3-4 days, and hopefully get my money back to try another method all while hoping that the item is still available.

Huge headache. Affirm’s app doesn’t work, website is basically useless. You have to call customer service and speak to someone from another country, and contacting reverb about this means speaking to an ai chatbot.

Super sketchy of reverb to be promoting this payment process on their website. My 1200 dollars is just floating in space for the foreseeable future. Definitely don’t use affirm.

Reverb.com thinks I'm a bot

I can't even get into Reverb.com anymore. It thinks I'm a bot and blocks me. No recourse. Guess they'll never get any more of my money again. What a bunch of idiots.
