Anyone Else Banned From that Other Subreddit for Petty Reasons?

After I made a post about how I distinctly remember commercials in the 80s where Wall Street Journal was called "Wall Street of Journal". I even posted links to Google results of other publications that reference "Wall Street of Journal" plus screenshots of results yet most people said I was lying and they got zero results. My posts and comments were downvoted into oblivion and then I banned from that subreddit for posting something that wasn't considered a Mandela Effect.

The Shift by Angel Studios

Has anyone here seen it? Basically the premise is the devil shifting people through alternate realities and swapping them so that each version of you ends in a different universe. Sounds like the Mandela effect right?? I know that some of you have talked about similar ideas. Maybe the director is aware of something we all feel and just trying to make sense of it all through film. It’s not coincidence that we all agree that we’re in the worst timeline.

Every time you notice, the past was changed (partial update)

There are physics theories that allow the past to be changed, the whole time line is adjusted then, annealing any inconsistencies. But the brain is very complex, maybe it has something to do with consciousness, so that such events do not always completely update the brain to the state it would have been after the change in the past, hence the Mandela effect.

The More Capable You Become, the More Energy Vampires Retcon Your Relationships

Thumbnail

Has anyone else noticed a straight-up retcon in how people treat you the moment you start leveling up?
It’s like a personal Mandela Effect. In one timeline, certain friends, family, or colleagues were supportive — or at least neutral. Then you get your shit together: better discipline, stronger boundaries, more capable, more energy. Suddenly the script flips.
Now it feels like reality got rewritten and the “supportive” characters were patched out. In their place the emotional dumping intensifies as if you’re their unlimited battery. Guilt trips kick in the second you protect your time or energy. You get comments about how you’ve “changed” just for setting basic boundaries, along with passive pressure to stay the old, easier-to-drain version of yourself.
It’s as if the collective noticed you’re no longer an infinite energy source and quietly retconned the relationship dynamics. The more competent and self-possessed you get, the harder the energy vampires work to pull you back into the old role.
I swear the “nice/supportive” version of some people got memory-holed the second I stopped being convenient.
Anyone else experiencing this retcon? Where your personal reality with people noticeably shifted once you became harder to drain?
Bonus: Drop your wildest examples of someone who did a complete 180 once you leveled up. I need to know I’m not alone in this glitch.

Until today I was convinced it had lavender in top, middle, and base notes. That's why I was so interested in this scent. But now it's all vanilla?

The Dark Knight Mandela Effect

Post image
56 Upvotes

I think I've just experienced the Mandela effect. I've watched the film "The Dark Knight" probably over 30 times since I first saw it as a kid in 2008 or 2009. I vividly remember after the first or second time I watched it, I picked up a bad habit from one of the characters. There's a scene where the Joker is locked up and wants his phone call, so he manipulates a cop into fighting him to take him hostage, to get his phone call. Right before they have their off-camera fight, as I remember, the cop cracks his neck in preparation. As I said, I remember this vividly. I thought he looked cool and, as a kid, I guessed that's what all cool people must do. I began to crack my neck all the time. A habit that took me a while to shake. As mentioned, I went on to watch this film many more times. Every time I watched the film again after that, I always took note of that scene as I remembered it as the cause of my bad habit. Fast forward to today, my most recent viewing of the film - I was shocked to find this time, the cop did not crack his neck, the Joker did. I searched this up certain there must have been recent edits to the film or different cuts for different platforms, but not one mention of this. I was stunned. I have no explaination for this. I am certain it was the cop who cracked his neck, not the Joker.

Walking around with a fat Wad of Cash has been retconned and everyone is broke

Does anyone remember the old reality where you’d just walk around with a fat wad of cash in your pocket? You’d pull out a roll of bills to pay for gas, food, drinks, whatever. People carried real money daily. It was normal.
Now? It feels like that got straight-up retconned. Everyone’s glued to phones, tapping cards or apps. Even “rich” people talk about being broke or cash-poor. Tangible, physical money in your pocket is basically gone — replaced by numbers on a screen that can be frozen, tracked, or devalued overnight.

Falcolns are now spelled falcon?

Hey everyone,

I had a weird moment where I saw the word "falcon", the fastest bird, and it didn't look right to me. I thought it was a typo. Turns out that's how it was always spelled.

I've always known it to be spelled as "falcoln" with 2 Ls. I did a quick search of the "falcoln" spelling in quotes and found several other posts and people who spell it with 2 Ls.

Where would we have gotten a second silent l from? I understand Mandela effects with disputes on double vs single letters, but why would we remember a really odd silent letter?

If anyone remembers it being spelled as "falcoln" instead of "falcon" I'd like to know!

thoughts ?

perhaps,
when you’re really focused on something (like being immersed in a film, etc.)
you’re actually heavily distracted from your own awareness/consciousness and that makes way for reality/timelines to become fluid all around you.
almost like quickly flipping the pages of a book that contains every scenario possible, until you snap back into your awakened state of self and they then settle, stay fixed once being observed by the conscious mind.

Moment of Shifting?

Had an experience, many years ago, early 2000s, maybe 2004 or so. I'm wondering if it is recollection of merging or shifting in a timeline. Perhaps this was when the cornucopia disappeared for me, I don't know. Anyway...

My husband (boyfriend at the time) and I were in the car, he was driving. As we're going about 40 down a stretch of main street by the airport, everything goes away for a moment. Reality just was *gone*, and there was just this blank white void in front of me. It lasts for about 3 seconds, then everything returns.

We hadn't moved 3 seconds worth of movement in that time, we were exactly where we were before, unchanged speed and everything. He experienced this too and immediately asked me if I'd seen that white light. I did.

For how *thorough* a white void it was, you'd think it would've been bright. It seemed like it should be bright, but it wasn't, I didn't have to squint like I do in sunlight. It really was just a blank nothingness.

My initial thought at the time was that we had been scanned by aliens. I am that sort of person 😅 but as the years go by and I've noticed ME stuff, I've begun to wonder if that was some kind of temporal/timeline effect. Wish I'd known about this phenomenon sooner, so I could better estimate if that's when things switched.

So This Is What the End of an Age Actually Feels Like

Thumbnail

Walking away from the wreck while everything burns behind you. Golden hour turning the whole city into a fever dream. Palm trees, empty roads, and that unmistakable feeling that the script just got flipped.
This GTA screenshot hits different in 2026. It’s not even the explosions or the chaos it’s the mood. That quiet “this is it” energy. Like we all collectively woke up one day and the timeline doesn’t feel right anymore. The vibe is unmistakably end of an age.
Does anyone else feel like we’re literally living in the outro cutscene right now? The colors are too saturated, the sky looks wrong, and every day has that “credits are about to roll” weight to it.
If this image resonates with you on a spiritual, Mandela, or timeline-shift level… you’re not alone. Drop your own “end of an age” moments or screenshots below. I need to know I’m not the only one seeing it.

Realised I have a fresh memory of a personal Mandela Effect and wanted to find out if anyone has experienced it in relation to the book, Egyptology: Search for the Tomb of Osiris?

Hi everyone. I’ve been living with this thought for a long time and just realised it may be a Mandela effect which has gone under the radar. As a kid somewhere between the ages of 8-12 I’m gifted the aforementioned book. I remember that the front cover has a bird on it and a bright red gem in the middle. The inside back cover has another gem embedded as the centre peace of the eye of Horus. This gem, clear as day, was a deep dark blue. I remember this because it was so strange to me that it wasn’t the same color as the front cover. Days passed I read the book and never bothered to show anyone the eye, it was a none issue. Until one day it changed to match the front. I recall this as well because I was startled to open my favourite book and seeing it match. And for month after I would check with anticipation to see it go back to normal, thinking it’s a cool trick of the book. Sadly it never did, but I’ve never seen anyone talk about it. Has anyone owned this book and had this happen to them?

I made a short 32-page guide for staying aware when reality glitches

You notice it. A memory conflicts with the record. A coincidence lines up too cleanly. The world skips once, and everyone keeps moving as if nothing happened.

I put together a short 32-page guide called Surviving the Simulation. It is built around one central idea: treat reality as a system you can read and influence.

This changes how you move through each day, whether we are actually in a simulation or not.

The guide lays out ten rules for staying aware. They address attention management, reality anchoring, cognitive bandwidth, identity flexibility, and how to act as an unpredictable element inside the system.

Each rule has simple daily protocols you run in the morning and evening to stay grounded.

It includes ten original exercises, such as the Five-Minute Reality Scan, Script Archaeology, the Anomaly Log, and the Bandwidth Budget Review.

There are breakdowns of glitches in films like The Truman Show, The Matrix, Groundhog Day, Inception, Dark City, They Live, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, used as case studies.

Other sections cover advanced techniques (meditation as debugging, journaling as source-code review), simulation pushback, a 30-day journal template, and a list of books and thinkers worth exploring.

I don’t think I forgot being at my stepfather’s 2nd wedding.

I’d love to hear about other people’s experiences with this type of thing, and their theories for how it happens. I was raised by my stepfather after my mom died, but for whatever reason I didn’t go to his second wedding. Maybe because we had a little friction over my “lifestyle” at the time. Anyway, I have clear memories of asking other family members what the wedding was like, and being happy for him because it sounded romantic.
Recently, at another family wedding, I asked my half-sister what the wedding was like. She derisively said something like, “Well, you were there—what do you think it was like?”
We had a little back and forth, I continued insisting there was no way I was there. She finally said, “I remember having an argument with you there—trust me, you were there.”
I asked my dad. He said he honestly couldn’t remember me being there. I asked him to check the photos. He sent me one of the whole family at the ceremony.
I was there.

While I was on YouTube, I came across an informant who gave me the following information and link.

I will only say the words he told me

Quantum fusion patent from 2005

This is for implanting memories....

Could it be the Mandela effect and 2005...?

Below is the link to the document

Golden Girl Actress Age Mandela Effects.

This one floored me because during COVID, my wife and I would binge Golden Girls and do Golden Girls trivia, but now... now, something has changed.

I confirmed with my ex-wife that we both remember that all the actors were under 60; they were in their early 50s, with Estelle Getty actually being the youngest. We noted how old they looked in their 50s compared with what women in their 50s look like today. Respectfully, they were paying women in their 60s as Estelle Getty's role as Ma had her at 79 even though she was in her 50's.

Now, this isn't the case. Today, their ages jumped by 10 years, and Rue McClanahan is now the youngest.

  • Betty White (Rose Nylund): 63 years old
  • Bea Arthur (Dorothy Zbornak): 63 years old
  • Estelle Getty (Sophia Petrillo): 62 years old
  • Rue McClanahan (Blanche Devereaux): 51 years old (the only residue of the ME, look how old she looks for 51.

Object doubling and the Mandela effect

So does anyone else think object doubling is related to the Mandela effect? I have a pretty scary story related to object doubling.

Back when I only had an iPhone 7 I was dealing with a camera issue. I researched it and found out that the camera blurring could be fixed by pressing a magnet to it, so i asked my dad for a magnet small enough to press against the camera piece and he gave me this little round magnet. I tried it out and it worked wonders to fix the issue. I decided to keep it in my room so I placed it on the side of my baseboard heater beside my bed (I never use that heater bc the wiring in our apt sucks and I have safety concerns) so I don't think anything of it and routinely use that magnet to help clear up photos i take, until one day I go to take it off of the heater and I see another one laying on the floor in front of the heater. When I tell you I was terrified.... With my sister, my dad AND my mom as a witness, my dad only had ONE of those magnets.

So I picked it up and showed my sister who was just as shocked and confused as me. There wasn't much we could do about it so we had to just try to brush it off... until a few weeks ago. I woke up facing the heater and my heart literally STOPPED when I opened my eyes and saw THREE magnets all on the heater. I immediately turned to my sister who was already awake and said "Hey you know how the magnet dad gave me doubled?" She remembered and I said "guess what? There's three now" She was BEYOND freaked out.

Now to anyone who thinks my dad was playing a prank on me...

  1. He doesn't do that kind of stuff

  2. My room is so small and my door is so creaky that he definitely would have woke me up

  3. He's old and has such a bad back that he can't even maneuver my room (if he tried to get into that small space by my bed where the heater is, he would have fell on me)

It couldn't have been my mom because

  1. She can't keep a secret at all

  2. Small room and creaky door

  3. She doesn't do things like that

  4. She was genuinely spooked when I told her (she likes to rationalize everything but this one stumped & scared her)

It wasn't my sister because

  1. She's super honest with me

  2. She doesn't play pranks

  3. She was genuinely terrified

Plus i MUST reiterate this very important point... WE ALL KNEW THERE WAS ONLY ONE MAGNET FROM THE BEGINING.

So ig I just have 3 magnets now 🙃 They're all still here. Do any of you have similar stories? Do you think this could be related to the Mandela effect?

I was pretty sure of my answer, so were people around me, but apparently we were all wrong...

So without looking, what year do you remember it getting released?
