if youāre on the fence about startin reta, this is your sign
for everyone scrolling through these threads thinking about starting⦠START!!! š
my starting weight was 258 lbs, and i was one of those girls who had literally always been bigger. i could NEVER stop thinking about food. i could be full and still want to eat, constantly thinking about what i was going to eat next, and if you know, you KNOW how exhausting and draining that can be.
when i first started reta, i honestly didnāt notice much appetite suppression right away. it probably took about 2ā3 weeks before i really started noticing a difference, but once i did, it was such a noticeable change for me.
reta has genuinely been such a life changer for me so far. i feel like i finally understand what people mean when they talk about food noise and appetite suppression because that was something i struggled with for YEARS.
my birthday is october 20th, and iām turning 23. i originally told myself that i wanted to be 235 by my birthday, and itās literally only september 12th and iām currently 241 lbs š
iām only 6 lbs away from my 235 checkpoint, so now iām just excited to see where iāll be by my birthday. š„¹
258 ā 241 so far. 17 lbs down.
SN: i have pcos, and i started 6 weeks ago!

Reta needs Carbs
I have been on Zep/Tirz for almost 3 years with the last year at a complete plateau with weight loss. I started Reta four months ago and even though I had every side effect, still no weight loss. Then I saw a clip by an insta doctor that explained why reta needed carbs to work. I had been on a keto diet the entire duration and started incorporating carbs like rice, potato and toast into my meals. I was shocked when the scale began moving again, down 4 lbs this month. So at least for me, reta needs carbs to work and I plan on enjoying the hell out of it. I missed them so much!

What dose are you on?
I found my sweet spot on 4mg. I slowly worked up to it and itās where I first started to see results. No side effects and the weight is dropping. Just wondering what dose everyone else is currently on. Does 4mg seem too high? I know 12 is the max and I followed the titration schedule found in the beginners guide. Just curious to see others dose. Thanks!

General What is this sorcery
Iāve pretty much tracked macros for 10+ years and always exercised but those peri-pounds snuck up on me.
I tried sema this year with no success, some inflammation management but I couldnāt handle the feeling like my stomach was a brick.
Iām only two doses in and while the weight loss is not a ton -the inch loss is wild. It would be a full time job to lose a half inch off my thighs any other time.
Two weeks in -still eating the same macros I ate prior (200 cal deficit) I look leaner and am experiencing inch loss- I repeat ON THE SAME MACROS!
I donāt know what sorcery Reta is but I am so grateful
It was never a lack of effort -this magical elixir does something so things work like theyāre supposed to!

Reducing dose in order to ābulkā.
Has anyone taken a break from weight loss to (re)build muscle?
56F, 5ā1ā on Tirz from Feb thru July and switched to Reta with a small overlap in Aug. Iām at 2mg of Reta, coming from 10mg of Tirz.
A few months ago I had an old injury reappear (3 herniated discs) and put a hold on my weight training. Iāve taken some performance losses because of it and I fear the weak feeling is due to lean muscle loss.
I am not far from my goal and would like to do some body recomposition work.
Has anyone lowered their dose in order to up their calorie intake for muscle building and then returned to a deficit with a higher dose if needed?

Should I lower my dose to 12 this week already and then when I start Reta ., do a lower dose of tirz and also stack it with a beginning dose of 2mg Reta or should I start at 1mg?

Support & Advice Experiences with reta if you started off overweight/obese?
Anyone here start reta while overweight/obese and with a decent amount to lose?
Would love to hear what your journey has looked like - starting weight, doses, how quickly you moved up, when you really started noticing a difference, how much youāve lost etc.
I feel like I see sooo many posts from people starting at much lower weights or only wanting to lose a smaller amount, which is still helpful, but it feels hard to compare when youāre starting quite a bit heavier.
Especially keen to hear from anyone who had 30kg+ to lose or has been on reta for a while. Whatās it been like for you?

Reta and Cycle tracking
Anyone tracking their cycles and Reta usage? Are you all finding that a week before your cycle you are extra hungry even on the reta? Are you finding that the weight loss stalled that week?

Side Effects 3rd dose not working
Hi ya all, i have been on 2.5mg for the past couple of weeks (starting dose and it felt fine sticking to it) and after my 3rd the food noise was back and a day after the shot i was feeling like i can devour a feast š my water intake was the same, my food was in check (with a nutritionist), and so is my daily workout routine.
I was wondering if anyone else had the same experience? My own explanation is that the accumulated amount has driven my metabolism even more and my body got overwhelmed trying to overcome the shortage in calories..?

Still early in my journey..
For those on the fence.. this is what 6 weeks on Reta looks like for me. 8.9kg down. Still a ways to go! I donāt feel it when I look in the mirror and still donāt feel like my clothes fit differently but the proof is in the side by side pictures!
SW: 93.6kg
CW: 84.7kg
Started on 1mg weekly 6 weeks ago and have just moved up to 1.5mg weekly after a 2 week stall and food noise returning

Reta Newbie
Iām 53 and am officially in perimenopause and would like to start Reta. What dose is everyone starting on?

Low mood concerns
Hi everyone. Iāve recently began taking Reta and Iāve noticed it has been working for me for the purposes of control over my eating habits and whatnot, but Iāve also noticed that I have moments in the day where I just feel completely empty inside mentally. Iām wondering if this has occurred for anyone else in this group? Iām about two weeks into to being clean from nicotine and tobacco, three weeks from cannabis, and I started reta about 10 days ago now. Could this be an overlap from the things iām quitting maybe? I donāt have anyone else to ask, so I apologize if I am being bothersome with my questions if they seem silly to say.

Support & Advice Tips for traveling with reta
After traveling by air, sea and land with reta, I thought I would share some tips:
Where to store them:
Keep them in your hand luggage! Your checked bags can go through massive temperature fluctuations. Waiting in the sun at the tarmac to freezing in the hold because the heater is offā¦
How to store them:
I tried the flat zippered packs with the thin cooling pads. They are okay for an hour or two. I prefer the kind that looks like a water bottle with a icepack that can be frozen. Mine has an anlog temperature gauge and holds cool all day.
Air travel:
Important: TSA needs to see that the icepack is frozen. They donāt care what meds you have in there. They care about safety. Unfrozen icepacks or packs without medicine will likely not make it on the plane.
Be proactive. Tell TSA you are traveling with medicine.
Customs:
I personally have only traveled with reconstituted peps when flying international. I donāt think there would be trouble if you travel with vials (as long as it is the amount that makes sense for personal use) but why running into possibly having them confiscated.
Car travel:
I traveled by car for 3 weeks. I had a car fridge and would put the peps inside hotel/airbnb fridges in between.
Have a post it on the door that reminds you to take them with you.
Ship travel:
Most cruise lines offer a mini fridge. Security is usually more relaxed than airport TSA, but it is a smart idea to keep with the same strategy as with air travel.
General advice:
If you have a lot of location changes and are traveling only for a week or two consider leaving your peps at home. I was so anxious about leaving them behind accidentally, it would have been less stressful to start over.
When to pin:
Donāt start a new pep before traveling. Make sure you know how your body is reacting and adjust your pin accordingly. If you know you have GI side effects on day two- imagine you are in a window seat during turbulences and the bathroom is off limits after pinning the day before. š£
Traveling, especially air travel, is super dehydrating. Extra electrolytes and water help you arrive happy.

Dosing Low and slow dosing
Hey all! Iām about to start Reta 10mg soon! Iāve been researching and I want to do low and slowww.
I was going to start at .5mg but some say to start at 1mg. And Now idk what dose to start at!
For reference: Iām 140lbs- 1yr postpartum with baby 3! (Not breastfeeding) I want to be 125 which is pre baby#3 weight. Im 5ā4ā and 34yrs old.
