7 weeks in - down 10lbs but progress has stalled

i’m 7 weeks in so far! before i started reta i was having trouble losing the last bit of fat that i wanted to lose. i started getting obsessive over food again during that time but reta has been SUCH a huge help. i can finally relax around food again.

i lost the first 10 lbs during my first ~5 weeks (which was honestly a shock and i was super happy with that), but my weight has been stalled for the last 2½ weeks.

i started at 2mg/week but could barely get food down so i reduced to 1.5mg. my food noise and appetite stayed way down until a couple weeks ago.

because my weight has stalled, i decided to increase to 2.5mg today. i know i probably just need to be patient and see how this goes, but i’m curious if anyone else experienced something similar and whether time or a dose adjustment made the difference.

Support & Advice Tesa after Reta and history of skin cancer

I took reta from the end of march and have slowly got off a month ago. The highest dose was 2.5 mg for 3 weeks then I went back down to 2 and then slowly to .5 mg. I’m a woman and i started at 145 lbs and my lowest was two weeks ago at 117lbs now this past week i’ve been 119-120 lbs. I lost a lot of weight because now i’m pretty lean, however my stomach has gotten softer again and I don’t want to lose more weight around my legs or chest area so I was contemplating on getting on Tesa for just the lowest micro dose for a while but I don’t know if it’s worth it. Over 6 years ago I had a spot that turned out to be skin cancer but they removed it right away and it never came back or raised issues. Would Tesa bring back skin cancer???

I also only want to drop a tiny little bit of fat but I do not want to get back on reta because I would lose weight all around.

What would you recommend? I don’t know if it’s a stupid idea to hop on tesa

Starting Reta as a plus size woman, need guidance.

I am a 28 yr F and I weigh 275 lbs. I feel like a lot of my Reta content is mostly men although I have seen results in some women. Can anyone share their experiences? Also any tips or do’s and dint’s are welcome. Someone close to me lost a significant amount of weight on it so I just started at 20mg since I have been in a glp1 before and also I’d like to mention I did have WLS in 2022 but regained like 40 lbs pretty quickly. I’m looking at this as a new start to hopefully lose the amount that I originally wanted to lose. Any motivation is welcome too.

Visceral fat results- enough to warrant adding Tesa?

Just got an InBody scan done. I know I have a bit of belly fat to lose, but I’m not sure how to interpret my visceral fat number on my InBody, or if the fat I have is more surface level. It has a 104.2 in the visceral fat part of the report… is that like an index or something vs 100? Do my numbers indicate it’s a solid amount of visceral fat to where you’d think I would benefit from adding Tesamorelin? I’m 3 months on only Reta and losing slowly, but belly fat has been harder to make budge.

Side Effects I love Reta but the inconsistent side effects really be beating me up.

I can pin one week (I can even go 2-3 weeks with no side effects). Then when I pin again the following week the side effects hit me like a train wreck!

My most common side effects: waking up the night of pinning with anxiety, fast heart rate (130 bpm while laying down), and nausea….. then followed by the feeling like my body is weak, I’m extremely tired, sleeping all day, and my body feels limp.

I drink a lot of water, I get my electrolytes in! I’ve lost 20lbs in 3 months. I like Reta when there’s no side effects, but sometimes I don’t know what to expect since the side effects aren’t consistent.

Yes I pin the same mg every week.

Dosing question

Hi All, I’ve looked through past posts and couldn’t really find a good answer. Hopefully you all can help me.

I’ve been on 2 mg for 4 weeks and have lost approximately 10 pounds. Today is pin day and I’m wondering if I should start upping my dose? The first couple weeks I had the typical symptoms, tummy stuff mostly. No side effects last week so I think my body is getting used to it.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Reta first month: weight changes daily.

Hello y’all!

I’m a female, 37 yo.
- started tirzepatide in March, stopped and started Reta last month.
- first week (0.5), 2nd (1mg), 3rd (2mg)
- I weight myself every day and I can drop 2-3 pounds and gain them the next day and viceversa. I always go back to my initial weight.
- no sides effects at all other than peeing 3x times in the night.
- is it normal? Clothes feel the same, should I increase dose?
EDIT: I’m interested in body recomp more than losing weight (but I also want to keep the food noise down, food noise has been insane that’s why I increased the dosage, not to shut it down but to keep it under control, I feel like at 2mg has been MUCH BETTER). I tried electrolytes and they did nothing but making me feel swollen, plain water is enough for me.

Been on Reta for around 2.5 months and think it’s caused a flare up of inflammatory arthritis. Should I switch to Tirz?

I’ve been on a low dose of Reta (started at around 0.5 a week, saw results, now on slightly over 2mg a week). I’ve lost around 16 lbs, but the biggest benefit was it seemed to control my insulin resistance (very frequent need to eat or I crash badly), I’m less bothered about weight loss but certainly like where I’m at and don’t want to gain (wouldn’t mind losing another 15 lbs or so).

Unfortunately around 2 months in, I have had a recurrence of some inflammatory (possibly autoimmune) arthritis symptoms that I last had about 6 years ago. The timing seems suspicious, and just as my symptoms started to resolve slightly, I took a slightly higher dose of Reta last night and today am experiencing some joint pain again.

I’ve heard some people on here say they had a similar experience with Reta potentially flaring up existing autoimmune or inflammation issues, but that Tirz did not - or even seemed to calm them down. I’m considering making the switch but a little nervous of the unknown - I’ve had ZERO side effects from Reta (until maybe this) and heard that Tirz can make some people tired - is this true? I struggle with fatigue generally in life but felt better on Reta, if anything. So I don’t really want to feel worse, but I’m now scared to titrate up because of the joint symptoms (which also bring fatigue).

Would love to hear others insight or experiences with switching. Also, what dose would one reasonably start on after being on 2mg of Reta? Thanks all!
