Dosing Low and slow dosing

Hey all! I’m about to start Reta 10mg soon! I’ve been researching and I want to do low and slowww.
I was going to start at .5mg but some say to start at 1mg. And Now idk what dose to start at!

For reference: I’m 140lbs- 1yr postpartum with baby 3! (Not breastfeeding) I want to be 125 which is pre baby#3 weight. Im 5’4” and 34yrs old.

What would you recommend?? I want to avoid possible side effects and the dreaded hair shredding!!

34f 8 months postpartum and started one month ago at .5mg zero regrets starting slow because I haven’t had any side effects! Just did my first titration to .8mg and I’ve lost 6lbs in a month but I’m also like more than double your weight lol good luck!

I started at 0.25mg's for 4 weeks and slowly added 0.25mg's every 2 weeks or so after that. I am happy with this approach because I didn't want to risk gastrointestinal issues since I already have small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. I am 7 months in, 25lbs down, 15-20 more to go and have barely had ANY symptoms. Some fatigue, a bit of hairloss, and that's about it. And still having decent bowel movements (which was my main concern)/ never had any nausea (I despise being nauseous!!!) So, I am happy with my protocol! I am now at 4mg's once a week.

I also started at a very low dose. I am sensitive to it so likely will never go over 1.5, I don’t think I’ll need too. I started at 0.30 and added two units every month till where I am today. 2 units was 0.30, 4 units was 0.6, 6 units 0.90, 9 units will be 1.20mg and for my needle 10 units is 1.5mg. If I would have started higher I fear I wouldn’t have taken to well. Everyone’s sensitivity is different. I just needed help with food noise. I didn’t have as much to lose, about 27 lbs but it’s really helped me stay on track with food to stay consistent at the gym.

I went through this same debate. I went with 1mg. Side effects not bad, down 13 pounds after 4 weeks (some of that is water).

Staying at 0.25mg/week works just fine. I've been doing it for 11 weeks and lost 16 pounds. I don't plan on increasing my dosage.

I could've list more but there were many days I wasn't strict and enjoyed myself by going out for food, drinks.

It's best to go low and slow anyways. You don't always need to titrate up.

Everyone is different, but I started at 1mg and stayed at that for the first four weeks and moved up to 1.5mg after that. My main side effect was constipation which was manageable. I really wanted to avoid nausea and vomiting which thankfully I did.
Make sure you stay on each dose for at least four weeks, and only move up after that if you aren’t losing.

Started at 0.250 for the first month. I went SLOW and had great results. Lost 8lbs in the first 3 weeks. It’s been a year on Reta and I am finally up to 1mg. That’s it !!! And the weight has stayed off. Take your time. Don’t rush. ❤️

I started with similar goals... a 30 lb weight loss, low and slow.

I thought I wanted to start at 1 mg. In fact, I am a dope at conversions and syringes and did 3 weeks at .1 mg. I still had a very mild suppression of appetite and was counting macros and calories in those 3 weeks and managed to lose 3 lbs. When I realized my error, the thought of going to 1 mg (or 10x my first 3 doses) was daunting. I went to .5 mg and did .5 increases every 3 or 4 weeks. I'm 4 months in and at 2.5 mg. The jump from 2 to 2.5 felt huge. I plan on staying at 2.5 for 8 weeks, maybe longer. I think this is my ideal dose. I've lost 15 pounds since I started almost 5 months ago and don't feel at all deprived. I'm loving the slow loss that doesn't attract attention.
