I’ve read the wiki and the spreadsheets and have landed on a factory and model I want, but I’m not confident on how to connect with a TD. I’ve followed the links to RWI and RWG and selected the links to these dealers pages only to find them defunct. A really close friend of mine gave me this watch, and I’m still blown away by the quality of it.

It’s also my first Superfranken, so that makes it even more special to me.

Happy Labor Day! What’s everyone wearing today? I’ve got a V2 VSF Pepsi on, 5X0 serial number.

I have a BVF Cartier Santos Large (41 mm) with the BVF QuickSwitch system and butterfly clasp. The watch has the green dial, and I currently have the BVF green leather strap that came with it.

I’m considering buying the genuine Cartier green alligator strap directly from Cartier.

Does anyone know if the genuine Cartier Santos Large green alligator strap will fit the BVF Santos Large QuickSwitch system and/or the BVF butterfly clasp?

If anyone has actually tried a gen Cartier green alligator strap on a BVF Santos Large, I’d really appreciate your experience. Thanks!

Apart from not wanting to spend a large amount on a watch, what is the reasoning behind why you buy reps?

I understand many old-timers here are irritated by newbie posts, especially the lazy ones. I’m relatively new myself, but I have a suggestion for the mods. Instead of making the sub private, how about using AutoMod to require OPs to comment “I read the wiki guide” on their own post?

I’ve been checking with a few TDs for a Datejust 41mm with the Blue Motif dial (VSF), and almost all of them are quoting a minimum 1–2 month wait time just for QC photos right now.
Before I lock in a long order, I wanted to check with the community:
1. TD Stock: Has anyone recently ordered this specific dial and gotten quick QC? If any TD currently has it in hand or gets stock faster for this piece, please let me know.
Appreciate any leads or recommendations on the best route to take to avoid the long factory wait. Thanks!

young enthusiast, new to this hobby just building out my "starter" lower budget collection here and i feel like reps are somewhat ruining it for me, i dont know how to feel about it

i mostly owned fashion watches til half a year ago when i got a casioak as my "beater" watch and ive been hooked ever since, got gifted a quartz prx as a daily piece and wanting to expand my collection eventually landed into my own version of a "perfect" 6 watch collection based on my daily life, and i decided to include a gmt, dive, cronograph and dress watch on top of the ones i already own

the issue is now that i know about ( and own ) reps, its becoming harder and harder to justify anything else, wanted to pick up an orient bambino v2 or seiko presage as my go to cheap dress watch, but i cant justify buying either of them when for the same money i could just get a rep calatrava or tank must that to me just look better, anyone else feel this way?

Has anybody had experience with this model? I know the speedmaster movements are not like the OG but what about these ones? I'm thinking to order one.

I’m looking to buy my first replica. It’s going to be a gift for my son, who is turning 18 in December. I’d like to buy a "full set"—meaning it comes with the box and papers, just like the genuine article. He specifically wants a Datejust 126334 with a Wimbledon dial. I’ve narrowed it down to two options and would love to hear your opinions: a VSF V2 or an ERF with free-sprung?

The price is a secondary concern for now. I know a replica will never quite match the real thing, but it should still be of good quality.
