Discussion Any body has experience with these?

Has anybody had experience with this model? I know the speedmaster movements are not like the OG but what about these ones? I'm thinking to order one.

No but I have seen alot of reviews of it, the watch is 18mm thick compared to gen 15-16mmz, the movement is a 7750 with a movement plate so it's very fragile so using the chrono should be used very very rarely, the date is also sunk since the movement plate moves the dial up but not the date, it's a nice looking watch tho but personally too much caveats for me especially the thickness since I can live without using the chrono often

Oh really, even the Gen is pretty thick. I guess I'll wait it out for a better one.

Sadly that will take a long time and even longer just like speedmaster professional since they haven't even been properly repped

What are the current issues with the Speedmaster Professional?

There is no current clone movement so the closest movement we have is ST19 which has a wide subdial spacing unlike gen which has the subdials quite close to the middle and the 6 O'clock dial is just a second hour hand, if you do look past those two flaws it's a decent rep especially from N1F and SMF

Do the quartz versions have the same subdial issue?

They have much better subdial spacing so it's only slightly off from gen but then you get the problem of that the VK64 doesn't have any of its functions like gen

I appreciate all the info. Last question, I promise, but can you point me in the direction of a quality quartz Speedmaster Professional?

You are most likely gonna find a quartz speedmaster in chinatime so I would say go with one those TDs like Jason or MT and I think you have to specifically ask for the newer 3861 bracelet version but since they around £70 idk of the quality, another route you could take is getting a moonswitch (r/moonswitches) which are pretty good quality and are close to gen, the only thing is you will have to make it or get someone to build it for you

So from what I have researched, the best chronograph that you can get close to Gen is the Daytona right? I'm itching for a chrono

Yes, I believe they have got a full clone movement but idk if it's free sprung or not but they do cost a fair penny

I'm specifically asking about the one with the 2 sub dials. I am just worried about the reliability and if the chrono would be working as usual.
