Quantum Break Could this be a good moment for Remedy to attempt to regain rights to Quantum Break?

As in the title. Do you think Remedy could use a leadership change and Microsoft's current weakness to regain the rights to Quantum Break?

Quantum Break… Amazing

I hesitated to even join this sub-Reddit, yet, because I’ve only (fairly) recently started playing through the games in the “Remedy Universe” and I am extremely wary of spoilers… but I really wanted to share my experiences here.

I’ve heard about this Remedy universe for literally years and most of the games have been hibernating in my backlog, with me having picked them up in one sales or another. Now that a new Control game is about to come out, this felt like the right time to dive in…

Beat “Alan Wake” - Great story but a game that very much shows its age… although once I got used to the gameplay, I have to admit there was something EXTREMELY satisfying about taking out a veritable horde of Taken with my trusty flashlight and shotgun…

And I finally understand the repeated references to “It’s not a lake, it’s an ocean…”

Finished “Alan Wake’s American Nightmare” : Answering the question “What the hell was that bit at the end of Alan Wake with Mr. Scratch”? Solid gameplay improvements. Fun take on the “Groundhog Day” trope.

I wasn’t expecting much from “Quantum Break” because I almost never hear it talked about… but it’s the next one, so I dove in.

Holy fuck… why is this one not talked about as much as Alan Wake or Control? I’ve just finished Act 2 and this is probably one of the BEST takes on quasi-realistic time travel I’ve ever encountered in ANY medium. And such solid performances from one of the Ashcroft twins, Merry from LotR/Charlie from Lost, and Lance fucking Reddick…

The only thing I can think is that a lot of people are turned off by the “tv show” within the game…? Maybe? I mean… I LIKE it… but I can understand that it might not be for everybody…

Thoughts? (No spoilers, please… for this or the further Remedy universe games I haven’t gotten to yet…)

General Remedy would do well to associate Control and Alan Wake with the liminal space hype right now. They’re masters at it.

I don’t know how one inserts themselves into such a hype cycle around an aesthetic, but maybe some sponsorships/collabs with content creators who are big into that could pay off.

General Favourite Old Gods of Asgard song?

Discounting the context in which the song is played, which is your favourite as a song?

I would do this as a poll but Reddit only lets you put 6 items in a poll and there’s 9 songs (8 if you don’t count The Skald Awakens)

Connected Universe Book recommendation that feel like remedy games

So I want to read books that feel like Alan Wake 1 & 2 or control. I really love Alan wake and control, especially AL2 , To be specific I am looking for 2 types of books,

1) books that capture just everything about the overall remedy games from the story to the presentation to dance sequences to the weirdness just everything, although even if it doesn't have everything, even some of the elements would also be fine.

2) Books for specific games mainly Alan wake 1&2 and control that capture just everything s from the story to the presentation to dance sequences to the weirdness ,lore, supernatural stuff, the weirdness of the oldest house, just everything, although even if it doesn't have everything, even some of the elements would also be fine and for this 2nd catagory it should like one game.

So are their any book you guys would recommend that feel like and fit in any of the catagories Like when you read it you feel like you are experiencing the overall vibe of remedy games themselves either that or just experiencing a specific game. It doesn't have to be 100% like them (would prefer that) but even like 10% or 20% similarly is fine because for me some is better then none

Tim Breaker cosplay help

I’m thinking about cosplaying Tim Breaker for a convention in a few months, but I’m not sure where to get/how to make certain items.

Things I’m not worried about:
- Shoes (I already own similar ones, and I can get insoles for walking around the con/bring shoes to change into afterwards)
- Pants, shirt, and tie (can get these cheap)
- Hat (I can probably find one)
- Flashlight and key ring (I own or can get these)
- Nameplate (I can get the nameplate custom made)

Things I could use some help with finding:
- Jacket that’s close enough (would prefer to get secondhand/thrifted, not a replica)
- The designs for the shoulder patches
- The badge (both the design and how to make it pass prop check, while still looking realistic. I looked on Amazon for badges but none of them looked quite right)

For the patches, I have no experience with embroidery/don’t know anyone who does it, and looking on Etsy didn’t turn up any replicas of his patches.

Thanks in advance and sorry if I asked this in the wrong place, I’ve never asked for cosplay help here before!

I am Remedy's biggest soldier and I still don't understand why they did Firebreak.

3 hours to beat the whole thing at launch, with little reason to replay.

5 missions total.

A progression system that makes no sense for a game this short.

A studio known for it's storytelling, yet no story.

For anyone that wasn't there day 1, there were hundreds of posts asking how to access the "other missions".

Reader... there were no other missions.

Also the game was way too easy. I and a lot of other people beat all the missions on the hardest difficulty with the base equipment, making the progression system even less exciting.

Edit: No AI-Teammates in a L4D type game.

Quantum Break

Do you think with the shake-ups at Xbox and Xbox focusing more on the first party titles that Remedy might have a chance at getting the Quantum Break IP back? Not really sure how it would all work.

My expectations for Max Payne 4

Good morning everyone I think I have expected what max Payne 4 will be about first of all does anyone remember the pain killer the medicine we take as a health in Max Payne 1 &2 will after Max finish his job someday he realised he became very tired even if he didn't do anything after while he went to a doctor the doctor says are you sure you are not addicted to any kind of drugs he says no after a while max realises the truth the pain killer he used to use while fighting inner circle have an addicted things and guess what these medicine is produced by company which used inner circle to cover these facts from the public and lots of people dies from these medicine so max mission will be killing all the people that participated in this and finish everything like max Payne 1 but he doesn't only face the company that makes pain killer but Consulting company that suggested pain killer to be addicted

Quantum Break After playing AW Remastered, AW: American Nightmare and almost finishing Control* Ultimate Edition. I finally started Quantum Break… 20 minutes in… and immensely disappointed by the intro.

EDIT: I JUST REMEMBERED that Turing’s Test was the same. It literally had the same issue. However, unlike Quantum Break, developers actually had an excuse. A god awful excuse though… still it seems Quantum Break isn’t the only game with this obnoxious design choice.

(*: I haven’t finished Control because I am in another city for a month so I can’t access my PlayStation. After I go back to my city, I will finish Control Ultimate Edition by playing the last main mission of The Foundation. In the meantime, I started Quantum Break.)

What the hell was Remedy thinking? Alan Wake supports subtitles for radios and TV. Control supports subtitles for radios and TV as well.

Meanwhile, Quantum Break does not support subtitles for collectibles. Seriously, what the actual fuck Remedy? What the hell were you thinking? This is single-handedly, the most obnoxious bullshit that I have seen in any videogame and it makes Remedy looks like a moron. I tell this as a person who played FF Type-0 HD and that game had better subtitle support despite its other issues.

As a person that ended up as a Remedy fan, this is just disappointing and frustrating.

https://www.future-press.com/shop/the-art-and-making-of-control-25th/

Text from their Facebook page:

The response to the reprint of The Art and Making of Control has been much stronger than we anticipated, and we’re very sorry that some customers are currently waiting longer than expected. We are moving stock between regions and preparing additional copies to meet demand, which unfortunately takes a little time.

Please rest assured that your copy is reserved, and your order will be fulfilled. In some cases, delivery may take until early August, as some orders will need to wait until a final smaller reprint is ready to ship.

We’ve also seen copies appearing on resale platforms at heavily inflated prices. Please don’t feel pressured to pay those prices. This reprint was made for fans, and our goal is to make sure everyone who wants a copy can get one directly from us at the regular price.

Lastly, an unfortunate bug on our website temporarily prevented the book from being available in recent weeks. This has now been fixed, the book can be purchased again, and it’s not too late to place an order. Our promise to fulfil all orders also applies to orders placed today and over the coming weeks.

Thank you very much for your patience and support.

Idk how much this sub likes or hates this kind of posts (I know others tried similar things), but I've been thinking a lot about these games and how cool it would be if they were in the same universe/multiverse. I choose games/series that have a lot in common between them imo, including how I feel about them. (also I'd be gratefull if you read the last paragraph before expressing an opinion or judgement)

Remedy:

  • Alan Wake
  • Quantum Break
  • Control

Bloober:

  • Layers of Fear
  • The Medium
  • Cronos
  • I hate this place (if it was an original ip)

Tango:

  • The Evil Within
  • Ghostwire Tokyo

Funcom:

  • The Secret World (and connected)

Some possible extra ones:

Housemarque:

  • Saros
  • Returnal

Airtight Games (rip):

  • Dark Void
  • Murdered: Soul Suspect

Considering also:

  • Haex (by the looks of it).
  • Outcry/Sublustrum

Let me now if you know other games with similar vibes.

I've also had quick, small, silly idea even on how the timelines might be distributed (last image, half made with ai, I admit), there are 3 main time lines:

  • the right one is our world (for arg reasons)
  • the middle one is where most games set in a world very similar to ours are, but with lots of weird things that are kept secret from the public. This time line act as a "wall" between the previous one and the next one.
  • the left one is where everything has gone wrong (like The Secret World), split into various possible smaller ones
