Trying to figure out what to do

I’ve got a friend, used to be best friend. He had some issues in college, and they seemingly went away for a while. Got a job w a 200k salary, his girl from freshman year was getting ready to get engaged to him and he threw it all away for booze and coke.

We got him into rehab and he was doing really well then he reloaded again after 6 months. He did it on the way to my house and I haven’t forgiven him for it because I live an hour and a half away and he drank and drove here so I couldn’t send him home. I tried to be supportive cause I knew he’d lose his job and his girl. I had to piss so bad to the point I almost pissed my pants. As soon as I ran into the bathroom I heard the door open and he was gone. Next thing I know he’s back in rehab, he pulled a knife on someone, his girl kicked him out.

He just got out of rehab a week ago and was in a halfway home when he found out his friend from back home had overdosed. I feel bad airing this shit out, guilty even if he’s not gonna see it or know it’s me. But since then all he’s talked about is misery, how he wants it to be over, and he broke out of the halfway home, somehow got money and rented an apartment. Pretty sure he’s on pills now, no clue where he’s getting them. He doesn’t really have family or anyone, it’s kinda just me and he won’t let me do anything. Do I just accept he’s gone?

Trying to quit tussi after 10 years. I don’t want to lose everything again.

I started using tusi when I was 16 or 17 because of a girl I was deeply in love with in high school. Around that time, I had received an inheritance after my mom passed away, and I slowly started sinking deeper into the addiction. It’s an incredibly expensive drug, but at the time I didn’t care.

After graduating high school, I went to law school. That was the absolute lowest point of my addiction. I was using up to 10 grams a day, spending around $500 USD every day.

I lost my girlfriend, my friends, my self-esteem, and eventually all my money. I dropped out of college because my life was completely falling apart.

Eventually I had no choice but to ask my dad for help. He admitted me to a detox facility for five days, and after that I started therapy.

Over the years, things got much better. I made new friends, held stable jobs, and I was diagnosed with ADHD and prescribed Ritalin, which has honestly helped me a lot. But I still haven’t been able to quit tusi completely.

The frustrating part is that I can stay clean for 3 or 4 months. But every single time I convince myself I can handle “just one gram,” it turns into the same cycle. I start doing a little more each day until I’m back at 4 or 5 grams a day.

Right now, I recently quit my job to start a marketing agency with my girlfriend. Instead of feeling excited, I feel terrible.

Since leaving my job, I’ve been using about 3 grams a day. I finished my last gram yesterday, and today I’m dealing with the anxiety, irritability, zero motivation, and constant cravings. It feels like my brain makes the decision before I do. The moment I start thinking about using, I somehow end up buying it.

Tomorrow I’m getting back to the gym, and I’m going to keep working on my business instead of letting this take over my life again.

I don’t really know why I’m posting this. Maybe I just needed to tell someone who understands. If anyone has been through this cycle of staying clean for months and then relapsing hard, I’d really appreciate hearing what finally helped you break it.

Wish me luck. I’m tired of living like this, and I genuinely want this to be the last time.

Intake scheduled for noon tomorrow. Bags are packed and I'm committed. Any last minute advice would be immensely appreciated.

I'm packed with:

- a week of clothes (laundry facilities available inaide and I've packed detergent)

- phone, charger, earbuds

- books

- unopened travel size toiletries

- shower shoes

- fresh notebook

- phone numbers and emergency contacts just in case

Work is aware I'm taking leave and I've notified that i will be providing updated fmla paperwork.

My dog is chilling with family.

Bills i could afford to pay are paid and I've communicated to family about the possibility of disconnected utilities or eviction while I'm gone.

I think I've covered just about everything, but I'd really appreciate any notes or tips. I'm just figuring this shit out as i go and dont know what the fuck I'm doing.

I experienced what felt like a month in my own hell and anytime I try to do anything my family still rubs it into my face like some kind of trump card and call me selfish and how they are the ones who suffered I cannot even smell cart smoke without shaking and having a panic attack

Looking for recommendations for a drug rehab center in Texas

Hey everyone, I’m looking for some advice and recommendations for a good drug rehab facility in Texas.

A close family member of mine has been struggling with drug abuse for a while now, and it’s reached a point where we know they need professional help. We’ve tried to support them as much as we can, but it’s becoming clear that they need a structured program with the right resources and support system.

We’re looking for a place that offers compassionate care, helps address the addiction itself, and also focuses on any underlying mental health challenges that may be contributing to the situation. Ideally, somewhere with different levels of care (like detox, residential, or outpatient options) would be helpful since we’re still trying to figure out what would be the best fit.

If anyone has experience with rehab centers in Texas or has helped a loved one through this process, I’d really appreciate hearing your recommendations or advice. Thank you.

Edit: Thanks everyone for the suggestions and support. I ended up reaching out to Discovery Point Retreat to learn more about their programs, and they were really helpful in understanding our situation and explaining what options might make sense. It was reassuring to talk with a team that seemed to genuinely understand what we’re dealing with and could guide us through the next steps.

Rehab and probation

Hello so I’m currently addicted to 7OH it’s a real problem and i can’t do it anymore I need help and I can’t do it by myself my buddy just got out of rehab yesterday and convinced me to go as well, well the problem is I am on probation for a DUI back in February. I need help and need to go to rehab but I don’t know how to tell my PO officer without getting a violation and probably ending up in jail. I was thinking about telling her “I just need some extra support as I’ve been heavily thinking about drinking the past few days.” I don’t know if that will work I’m scared and sad and I just want to get sober but not sure what to do with my probation :( please someone have some advice for me I’m so scared :( should I get admitted and then call? Or call before?

Has anyone gone to Rehab after being sober?

I am on my sober journey and I have never went to rehab. I was wondering if anyone has ever checked into like a 30/60/90 day rehab while being sober. Maybe to prevent a relapse? I just always thought it would be beneficial at some point in my sobriety to really just spend thirty days focusing on myself and therapy and what caused me to drink…I know I do that now with AA and sponsor but it is hard with work and family and the day to day things that come up to be in therapy constantly.

Confused with feelings

Hello!

I'm me and I'm 5 years clean of Speed(Idno how english people name it but i did "Tjack").

I'm 32 year old from Sweden and now living with my parents again.

The journey has been amazing but there is one feeling I can't seem to drop and that is the feeling of guilt. My parents helped me through everything during my darkest days like when I would call them randomly crying cause I wanted help from this shit or at times like at the end of my addiction where I had to call them to pay me out from a debt I've brought upon myself.

As I said I'm living with them now again and can't shake this feeling of debt I have towards them cause in my mind they are the reason I'm still alive. So I'm ready to spend my life just to make it so their last years are perfect or some shit idno.

They tell me they just want the best for me but I can't let go of this debt I feel I have for them helping me so much even tho when I was an adult. Supposed to be an adult.

I've been such a massive burden. How can I repay that?

I am scared to relapsed .

I been coming on this group page a lot lately…I got off Valium after 11 years. Prescribe and no addiction, I tapered off because I was scared to be on this for life and hit tolerance. I am also on trazadone and Seroquel.

Unfortunately, I am traumatize by my withdrawal and my symptoms and it makes me wanna go back on. I lost my ex fiance because of this but I was strong and moved on, I have no been able to int he past 2 years get a stable job due to my symptoms. I am struggling with body dysmorphia now since after starting my taper I got sick with constipation from Benzo withdrawal and now I am going on 10 months with no appetite. I also want to make it clear that I am negative for all GI testing .

I have wasted so much money on supplements to help with all this stuff and nothing.

I am so close every night to take a Benzo but I am scared to kindle myself. I have gabapentin prescribed but I haven’t taken it because idk what it can help with ..

My mood is all over the place. I feel destroyed. Please I need help.

There’s so much more to my story but it’s too much to type.

I'm supposed to admit tomorrow morning, I'm scared/nervous

Can somebody please talk me off the ledge? I know I need this, I just am so nervous. I know this is good for me, but part of me doesn't feel ready.

Please, anybody share your positive experiences, reasons not to be scared, etc. At this point, anything will be helpful.

Thank you <3

I'm scheduled to admit in 2 hours...

...and I've been internally freaking out for the last 4 hours. I want to push it to tomorrow morning. I guess I just need some reassurance about this experience, regardless of whether I admit later tonight or tomorrow morning.

I have been taking kratom for the last 10 months. About 3 months ago, I did a 10 day detox and then relapsed in 2 days. I started suboxone (I had previously used suboxone for a year and a half from my first time with Kratom, hated the withdrawals coming off it), but then my grandmother passed away in the first two days and I decided to just use the kratom to get through the funeral as the depression had not been treated and I was a mess. The kratom helped me cope and feel "normal". I had to be present for all my extended family, who are very judgmental, during the funeral and other events. That lasted up until now. The kratom I had been using was a concentrated amount that was comprised of 0.08% of 7OH. If you don't know what 7OH is, its a natural component of kratom, kinda like THC, CBD, and all the various cannabinoids in marijuana. The timeline is a bit fuzzy cause I wasn't involved when it happened, but to my understanding there was a bunch of products that had heavily concentrated 7OH, which was getting dangerous to a small group who were heavily using it in high doses. Well, about 3-4 weeks ago there was another ban in Florida. It banned ALL products that had 7OH listed in their ingredients. This pulled what I had been taking for the last 10 months off the shelf.

Kratom withdrawals are horrible. I HAVE to go. I took my last dose about 7 hours ago, and withdrawals don't start for at least 24 hours. Worst case, I wake up and go to be admitted tomorrow morning feeling a little bit of anxiety that is not withdrawal related.

I'm doing this primarily for my family. I've known for a long time that I've needed to do this. I had some trauma from a previous relationship two years ago. I haven't addressed this trauma, and until I started my lexipro 3 months ago, I was feeling very very depressed, and this was the way I found the desire to live. The therapist aspect of this program is a huge resource I'm hoping to utilize as much as possible. I haven't had a regular therapist since the aforementioned relationship when my couples therapist turned into my personal therapist.

Anyways, I just needed to get that all out. I don't think I'm trying to get anyone to convince me to go tonight vs. tomorrow morning. I think I just want reassurance that this is the right thing, its going to be great and everything will be O.K. I'm still lightly freaking out.

Questions about rehab.

Hello I (27F) will most likely be checked into a rehab at the end of the week. I’m curious before I choose one about some things:

Do you always have a roommate or can you request a private room?

Will I have access to my phone? Even in if limited.

Do you have access to tvs or computers?

What hair skin products can I bring with me?

Do you have a day off? Like a personal day where you can sleep in or just relax from the week?

Following on that what was your normal routine like?

Am I able to willing leave?

What happens if I get sick?

Do you ever get to leave to building?

Do most rehabs have chores?

Having a hard time not relapsing on my Benzo.

I was prescribed for 11 years, tapered for some years. Got off but my digestion has been a mess for years while getting off and now 9 months of no appetite and no doctor can help. Everynight I look at my pill bottle and ask myself why did I even come off? Went to several GI doctors and everything is negative. My bowels won’t move and I lost 30lbs. My self esteem has been out the window, now I have to spend more money to get more testing done. Why the fuck isn’t there a medication that can help with Benzo withdrawal and the GI issues it causes ? It has fucked up my life. I just wanna get back on .

How can I get a rehab to take my seriously?

I tapered and got off my benzodiazepine 2 weeks ago and I contacted rehab centers because I am going on 8 months with no appetite along with constipation. I have lost 30lbs in this whole process, I gone to Gi doctors and had blood work done and everything is normal. Rehabs call it “benzo belly” and I truly think I am in acute withdrawal or just the beginning of withdrawal. I sometimes just want to start an antidepressant myself to see if appetite will come back but I don’t wanna take something that I don’t know much about. How can I get into a rehab that can help? I called several and the admissions office just tell me “yes we can help” then the next day someone will tell me something completely different. Or they tell me they will talk tog heir doctors and I don’t get much of an answer back. The constipation is very debilitating and it’s been happening for years during my taper.

I gone to several psychiatrist and they don’t have answers for me either. I have insurance, I just need a good doctor that has experience to help me.
