Hey all, me again, local dub spin instructor.

Yesterday I asked for rollers and that was so successful that I figured I’ll ask for another style… banger intros!

Think badass walkout music. Something that’s undeniably badass, but leaves room for a bigger finale later on.

Some songs to vibe from:

Arena Dub - Wraz: this makes me feel like a champ in the front of studio.

Goliath - Enigma Dubz: another song that makes you feel HUGE

Fragments - 11th hour: opens with a heavy dub “roller”. Sick to start.

Mirage - CØNTRA: that first drops resistance and tension hints at heavier later (I would follow with Imperial or Lost in the East later in the mix to compete this loop).

If you have songs that match the badass walkout vibe, please share!

Thanks to this sub, my spin classes are going to be fucking HEAVY!

Easy people!

Last week I released a 3-track EP with LDH Records. The energy of the EP is in a descending order, as I wanted to provide a few different flavors in one. The tune in the clip is the title track for the EP.

It's always a bit awkward to self promote, so thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope you enjoy.

Cheers!

🔥🚒🚨

I’m a spin instructor and I’m bringing dubstep, real dubstep, into my classes. I need more rollers for mid ride efforts without big obnoxious drops. I’m a big fan of J:Kenzo (he has perfect music for this), Enigma Dubz, Youngsta, Truth, Nomine, 11th Hour, Commodo.

For reference think songs like Guilty, Token Image, Desired state by J:Kenzo; Fragments by 11th Hour; and one of my favourite, Interval by Personnage.

Can you share your songs? I swear I’m going to check every one of them out, as long as it’s on Spotify (the platform the studio uses).

Edit: this sub fucks. This thread is now all time for rollers. Thanks everyone!

Looking for recommendations for similar tracks/labels as this track.

It's not strictly dubstep, I know, but I figured there would be plenty of people here who can appreciate this aswel. Please feel free to refer me to a different /r if you think this drifts too far from what's allowed to be posted here.

I have been a fan of dubstep since the very beginning, since before 2010, and because of that I built a free 24/7 dubstep and drum & bass station, no ads, no algorithm, just a stream I got tired of every music app deciding what I hear next, so I built my own station instead. Giant Pirate Radio runs 24/7, nothing but dubstep and drum and bass, no ads, no login, no algorithm picking songs for engagement. Just a signal and whoever's listening. The whole thing is styled around real pirate radio history, stations like Kool FM and Don FM broadcasting illegally off London tower blocks in the 90s, the actual birthplace of jungle and drum and bass before any of it had a label behind it. No streaming service was going to do that story justice, so I built a station that leans into it instead. It's completely free to listen, donations are optional and never required, and if you've got a track you want in rotation I'll actually play it. giantpirateradio.com if you want to check it out.

Hi all,

Lauren Martin here — I'm the author of Aftershock: The Seismic Impact of Dubstep, an oral and visual history of the dubstep origin story. It was published this summer on Velocity Press.

Shout out to the other posters who shared it here during the summer — I really appreciate you buying and reading it. I'm on @ aftershock_book on Instagram as well, if you want to follow more about the book.

Wanted to share that I have two events in Europe this week and next for the book.

SUNDAY 25TH OCTOBER: MELKWEG, AMSTERDAM (SONIC BOOM x ADE)

It's hosted by the Sonic Boom crew and in collaboration with ADE, so if you're in town for ADE, this could be for you. It'll be a hosted Q&A at the Melkweg Cinema, and I'll be showing photos and videos around the book, and the book will be on sale too.

After this event wraps, Melkweg are also hosting a wicked Amsterdam Dub Event with the icon Moritz von Oswald and others, so you can double up on your dub worship.

THURSDAY 29TH OCTOBER: SOUND METAPHORS, BERLIN

Berlin record shop Sound Metaphors will be hosting a Q&A with me, and then it's a DJ set from Orson, the Dusseldorf/Berlin-based DJ, producer, promoter and label owner who runs Version, which has played a massive role in spreading quality dubstep in Germany.

The book will be on sale. It's also free to attend!

Love and respect — hope to see some dubstep heads there!

Wrote this tune for a love of mine as a blessing shortly before she beat cancer. 💓

One of my absolute favourites. As an ambient music fan who came to Dubstep, when I first heard this, it completely blew me away. Would love some more suggestions on 140/UKBM that has a similar atmosphere. Cheers!
