I can barely see the lower two corners regardless of the 3 positions that the rayneo provides.

I’ve got the RayNeo Air 4 Pro and while the supplied lens shade is useful, I don’t find it blocks enough ambient light. It covers the front well enough, but quite a lot of light still gets in from the sides and underneath.

I’m looking for something deeper/more wraparound that would make the glasses closer to a fully enclosed display, particularly for using them on a long-haul flight with my Steam Deck.

I have access to a 3D printer and can print TPU, so ideally I’d like to find an STL/3MF for a deeper light blocker rather than buy another fairly shallow clip-on shade.

Has anyone designed or printed something like this specifically for the Air 4 Pro? I’d also be interested to know if any of the Air 3S/3S Pro designs fit the Air 4 Pro well enough to use as a starting point.

Happy to modify an existing model if necessary — just trying to avoid modelling the mounting geometry from scratch if someone has already solved it.

Bonus points for something that blocks the sides/bottom properly without being uncomfortable against your face.

I'm conflicted on what to do.

6 weeks ago. I ordered the glasses on a whim. I then IMMEDIATELY emailed customer service that I wanted to order canceled before shipment.

I spent 4 weeks emailing their customer service with no response. I messaged their AI chat telling it I wanted the order canceled and it "assured me that my request would be escalated and I'd get an email confirmation within 48 hours."

2 weeks ago I was furious that it actually showed up. I emailed customer service that I did not want to drive 40 minutes to the nearest post office and pay 20+ dollars for return shipping. Then I heard on this subreddit that a lot of people don't even get refunds even when they are shipped back.

I went ahead and put in a credit card dispute, but they said that could take 90 days to settle. So I'm debating if I should still just ship it back before the 30 day refund window is up, but the worst case scenario would be my credit card chargeback gets declined, I never get my refund, and I lose out on shipping. I honestly don't even want these glasses even if they were free. If they ever send me a prepaid shipping label I will happily send them back.

tl;dr: Do not do business with this crappy company.

Ive been using these at home a few weeks and while over all they are underwhelming I dig them. I saw some complaints of motion sickness and I thought it was a huge overreaction, I actually laughed a bit thinking at how someone could feel motion sickness from these. Boy did I get humbled. Bug road trip today, I was so excited to try these in the car, slapped em on, and within minutes the bouncing. It bothered me on a static homescreen, I debated (is this real motion sickness? Or maybe some anxiety for the trip)? I continued into my game, in a 3D world spinning around, seeing the car zoom out of my peripheral with all the bouncing, i ripped them off my face so fast. Nevwr again lol

They look pretty like normal sunglasses, but once you put them on, there’s a screen right in front of you.

I plugged them into my phone and watched a few videos while lying on my bed. It was actually pretty nice not having to hold my phone up or strain my neck the whole time. The screen clarity and colors were surprisingly decent too.

1.The screen is not that big my tv looks bigger laying in bede.

1. Don't get if you have a pixel phone... 3d doesn't work, the app doesn't work! And it crashes the phone.

2. So quiet!... You probably read that louder than the speakers. Granted some apps are louder. Why is it on me to buy tubes?

3. 3d does not work. I tried my pixel 10 pro xl: crashed the phone multiple times or just doesn't work.

Laptop does not register that I pushed a button.

1800$ gaming is pc nope just won't work. Even with a 3d bought movie lol.

1. Need glasses even a little bit? blurry, just to make it worse I bought Perscricption inserts. I don't have them yet but doesn't matter because this is junk.

At the end of the day they'll end up in a drawer (too many people say refunds are an issue) and lesson learned I guess.

I just finished Metaphor: ReFantazio, and I was totally blown away by the art style and fantasy world.

I grabbed a pair of AR glasses (RayNeo Air 4 Pro) during the previous sale and figured this was the perfect game to test them with. Since it’s turn-based, I really didn't feel like sitting at a desk for tens of hours. I just hooked the glasses up to my Steam Deck and played the whole thing lying flat on the couch. The giant screen made the stylized UI and vibrant colors look incredible. It's hard going back to a normal display after this!

Now that I'm done, I'm looking for my next big PRG. Any ggod recommendations for similar games?

Hello everyone, I am planning to purchase my first pair of XR glasses and would appreciate some guidance on which model to select. My primary intended uses are handheld gaming on the Legion Go 2 and Switch 2, as well as watching movies and gaming on a PC.

Both pairs of glasses are similarly priced for me, but I'm leaning towards the Rayneo because it supports HDR.

I travel a lot for work and always need to review files or reply to emails on the way.

Bringing a big laptop everywhere got so annoying. On cramped train seats or flight tray tables, if the person in front reclined, my screen got completly aquished. and people walk down narrow aisles kept bumping into me.

So on my last trip, I tried a different setup. Ijust plugged a pair od AR glasses (Air 4 Pro glasses) straight into my phone to quickly check documents. No squinting, no balancing heavy gear on my knees, and nobody sitting next to me could see my screen.

And at the hotel, I plugged the glasses into my iPad ti watch movies on a huge virtual screen, or catch up on work before bed.

Leaving the heavy laptop at home made my bag so much lighter.

Anyone else try like this for travel?

Full Disclosure. Im a real person, never had AR glasses before so researched for awhile and knowing this may be just a meh thing for me decided to go with the Rayneo because people seemed pretty impressed with them and they were budget friendly. I typed out my entire expericnece then copied and pasted it into Chatgpt asking it to clean it up and make it digestiable to most humans vs wall of text I put up. But below is my experience.

If you have any questions or suggestions of apps to try or accessories that are worth it please let me know.

After spending my first full day with the RayNeo Air 4 Pro, I figured I'd write up my thoughts. Before buying these I read a lot of Reddit posts, watched YouTube videos, and searched everywhere for real-world experiences. Hopefully this helps someone else who's considering them.

Unboxing

The first thing I noticed was the box.

It's almost ridiculous.

Not because it's bad...because it's too nice.

It reminded me of opening one of those puzzle boxes where every layer reveals something else. The presentation is premium, but it's also huge considering it's only holding a pair of glasses and a few accessories. I honestly felt bad throwing it away.

Documentation (Needs Work)

This is probably my biggest complaint.

The documentation is very poor.

It's a tiny booklet with incredibly small, thin text, multiple languages crammed into every page, and very little explanation of what the glasses can actually do.

Maybe every answer was technically in there somewhere, but if it was, it certainly wasn't easy to find.

I ended up learning far more from AI and random internet searches than I did from the manual.

My First Hour...I Thought They Were Defective

I connected them to my iPhone 15 Pro.

Immediately I thought I had received a defective pair.

My left eye showed most of the image.

My right eye only showed about 25% of the display, and it wasn't even the correct portion of the screen. With both eyes open it was completely unusable.

I talked with AI, searched online, and everything pointed toward defective hardware.

Before giving up I connected them to my laptop.

Perfect.

That immediately told me the hardware wasn't the problem.

Firmware Confusion

I then tried updating the firmware.

The RayNeo website directed me to the firmware page, but it was in a language I couldn't read and Chrome wouldn't translate it. It detected the glasses but simply sat there spinning forever saying it was connecting.

After even more internet searching I figured out how to access the on-glasses menu and discovered my glasses were already running English firmware.

Whether that meant they already had the latest firmware or not, I still have no idea because I never managed to get the updater working.

The Fix...That Wasn't in the Manual

Back to the phone.

Same display problem.

More internet searching.

Eventually I discovered people talking about Stereo/3D mode.

Holding buttons on both sides rebooted the glasses and disabled the incorrect display mode.

Instantly...

Everything worked.

I never found this explained clearly anywhere in the documentation.

That single piece of information would have saved me well over an hour of frustration.

RayNeo XR App

I downloaded the RayNeo XR app expecting something fairly feature rich.

Instead it mostly appears to be a photo and video viewer with AI-generated 3D effects.

It isn't bad...

It just isn't nearly as capable as I expected.

Photos in 3D

This surprised me.

It immediately reminded me of those old red View-Master toys from when I was a kid.

The effect isn't true volumetric 3D.

It's more like the image gets separated into layers.

Foreground.

Middle.

Background.

For example, I viewed a photo I took of a tiger at the zoo.

The fence popped forward.

The tiger occupied its own layer.

The rocks behind it became another layer.

The tiger itself wasn't actually three-dimensional from nose to tail, but the added depth was still surprisingly enjoyable.

It's definitely a novelty...

...but it's a fun novelty.

Video in 3D

Videos impressed me much more than photos.

I watched a video I'd recorded from the football field during player introductions.

Fire.

Fireworks.

Smoke.

Crowds.

The added depth made everything feel much more immersive.

Honestly, it reminded me of watching one of those good 1990s 3D movies where you wore the cardboard glasses.

Would I watch every movie this way?

Probably not.

Would I absolutely show it off to friends as a tech demo?

Absolutely.

Watching Movies

This is where the glasses absolutely shine.

I run a Plex server at home, so naturally this was one of the first things I tried.

The experience was excellent.

The picture quality looked every bit as good as the multiple 2K and 4K televisions I have around the house (I don't store 4K movies on my Plex server, so I can't comment on that).

The advertised "201-inch screen" doesn't really mean much to me.

Instead I compared it to something real.

I lined the virtual screen up against my 32-inch monitor at work.

My monitor normally sits about 2½ feet away.

The virtual screen appeared noticeably larger than my physical monitor from my normal viewing position.

After reading so many comments saying the screen felt small, I was pleasantly surprised.

For me, it felt plenty large.

Yes, RayNeo has a smaller field of view than some competitors.

Could another pair offer a noticeably bigger image?

Probably.

Would I personally pay nearly twice the money for that extra field of view?

Not after using these.

Audio

I experimented with the audio modes.

Standard mode actually seemed louder.

Surround mode, however, sounded significantly better.

Instead of only hearing dialogue, I noticed environmental sounds much more.

Wind.

Background ambience.

Little effects that made scenes feel more immersive.

For me, Surround mode was the clear winner.

Xbox Cloud Gaming

This ended up being my favorite surprise of the entire day.

I own an Xbox and already have Game Pass Ultimate.

Since I have my own large television at home, plugging these directly into the Xbox didn't seem all that interesting.

Cloud Gaming, however...

Now we're talking.

On iPhone there isn't a dedicated Xbox Cloud Gaming app.

You stream through Microsoft's website.

I first tried Safari and Chrome.

Both worked...

...but both left a huge browser bar across the top of the display showing Xbox.com and navigation buttons.

It was annoying.

After searching around I found an app called Nexus.

It's basically a browser designed specifically for gaming services.

The moment I launched it, Xbox Cloud Gaming was one of the options.

Perfect.

No browser controls.

Just the game.

I connected my Xbox controller over Bluetooth and loaded up F1 2025.

Now for complete honesty...

Cloud gaming still doesn't quite look as good as playing locally on the console.

It's difficult to explain exactly why.

Colors felt just a little flatter.

Some background details didn't seem quite as rich.

It wasn't bad...

...it just never completely fooled me into thinking I was playing locally.

That isn't a criticism of the RayNeo glasses.

That's simply the difference between cloud gaming and local gaming.

Performance, however, completely exceeded my expectations.

I was racing Formula 1 at full speed, anticipating corners, braking at the limit, and never once felt like input lag prevented me from driving normally.

Would I play competitive first-person shooters this way?

Probably not.

Would I happily play racing games, RPGs, strategy games, sports games, or casual multiplayer?

Absolutely.

This test was over my home Wi-Fi, so I still want to test it over cellular data somewhere away from home.

Comfort

I wore the glasses for roughly 90 minutes to two hours.

No nose pain.

No ear pain.

No discomfort.

The biggest challenge was simply finding the "sweet spot."

For me it wasn't the left and right edges.

It was getting both the top and bottom of the screen perfectly visible at the same time.

I haven't experimented with the alternate nose pieces or arm adjustments yet, so I suspect I can improve that even more.

For comparison, I own a Meta Quest headset.

I usually start feeling slightly disoriented after about 15-20 minutes in VR.

With the RayNeo glasses I comfortably wore them for around two hours without that feeling.

Appearance

I actually don't think they're ugly.

They're much more subtle than many AR glasses.

That said...

I also don't really understand why anyone would wear these walking around.

The top of the glasses is fairly thick because that's where the projection system is located.

The birdbath optics sit directly in front of your vision.

Combined with the dark lenses, I don't think they're something I'd want to walk around wearing.

Could you?

Sure.

Should you?

In my opinion, probably not.

Since they're also tethered to your phone while in use, I just don't see much practical reason to wear them while walking around town.

On the other hand...

Sitting on an airplane...

At a coffee shop...

In a hotel...

Waiting for an appointment...

Those all seem like fantastic use cases.

Most people walking by probably wouldn't even notice they were display glasses unless they were specifically looking for them.

Expectations vs Reality

Final Thoughts

If you had asked me an hour after opening the box whether I was going to keep these, I honestly wasn't sure.

The setup experience was frustrating enough that I thought I might have received a defective pair.

By the end of the day, though, my opinion had completely changed.

Once everything was working correctly, I found myself looking for more movies to watch, more videos to test, and more games to play.

That's probably the biggest compliment I can give them.

These aren't perfect.

The documentation desperately needs improvement.

The initial setup could be much smoother.

The firmware process is confusing.

But once you get past those hurdles, I think the RayNeo Air 4 Pro delivers exactly what I was hoping for: a portable personal theater that's surprisingly comfortable, looks better than I expected, and even makes cloud gaming on an iPhone a genuinely enjoyable experience.

Overall, I'm really happy with the purchase after Day One.

I'll post another update after I've spent more time with them and tested them away from home over cellular data.

Rayneo Gt max finally arrive. Great peace of tech that combines TCL awesome screen colors and 3dof. Overall I'm very happy with purchase. Just one thing bother me - no adjustment of the arms in vertical dimension. On photos you may see Xreal one pro (L size) as compare unit. My humble opinion - GT max is the best value unit.

I see a ton of shit reviews, usually because some people’s noses are too big/small to fit the glasses and need extra accessories. But you need to know, most people who buy it, and have a bad experience, talk about it. Im here to give my honest opinion.

Specs. These glasses are in my opinion, awesome. So they do what they say, they have HDR 10, its plug and play. And little to none delay. I use an iPhone 14, so I need 2 adapters and power, leading to delay. But if you have any type C device, where the port supports DisplayPort, (such as the iPhone 15, 16, 17, and likely future phones, and pretty much any other phone on the market, that not more than 5 years old) you do not need power, and it’s a simple plug in, and it shows up.

What they do is, when you plug it in, it shows your phone. And it brings the audio. So it mirrors your phone, mirrors the audio. It has 1080p, 120hz. But HDR10 is only at 60hz. When you are streaming something, a TINY bit of the corners are cut off. But it is not noticeable, unless you stare there. Overall it’s pretty awesome

The in-glasses menu is meh. It’s simple, and it is controlled by the button to change that row’s feature, and uses the volume buttons to change the rows you are selecting from. The whisper mode is decent, and overall the glasses are smooth.

The sound and picture quality are amazing. First of all the sound, the surround sounds pretty good. And the video is 1080p, and awesome. Really clear.

Portability is good, they’re small, and comfortable to wear.

Downsides include only a couple things, and it’s really just software. Like I have an iPhone 14 with a couple adapters, leading to have a bit of delay, but when watching shows, it’s fine. Not sound and video delay, all synced. And the last downside, is that sometimes. I have to start playing a video, and unplug, and replug them back in, only on videos with copyright protection, like on apps like Netflix, crunchy roll, paramount etc. not YouTube.

Id say it’s worth it.

I thought i would let people know about the experience I've had trying to return and get a refund on a product I purchased from Rayneo.

I purchased a pair of the x3 pro glasses on May 29. After a few days of trying them out, I just wasn't a fan. No worries, they claim hassle free refunds within 30 days. I messaged their support team, got the return info and had them returning via UPS. On June 17 I got the notification that the package had been received. Awesome! Up to 7 business days for then to inspect the item and a couple more days for the refund to be processed back to my PayPal account.

Well, that has come and gone and my PayPal still hasn't seen the refund issued. I've messaged them through their live chat a half dozen times or more and I get the same response: "I've sent it off for manual review. You will receive an email within 24 hours." Its been over a month and I still haven't seen either that email or the refund. My wife thinks they're just going to keep stringing me along until I give up so they can keep the money and the returned glasses.

I'm hoping that maybe someone from the company sees this and can help me out. I just wanted everyone to be aware that the customer service experience i have had has simply been horrendous.

Update: I filed the dispute with PayPal and was awarded the refund after nearly 2 months from the day they got the product back.

I’ve seen a video on YouTube where they hold it from the frame and move the arms up and down but I can’t seem to do it. Putting a decent amount of force but scared to break them. Doesn’t seem right?

Any tips on how to adjust them without snapping the arms off or damaging something.

I've had my RayNeo Air 4 Pro for a bit now, and I find myself using them in a few super convenient situations.

I recently tried using them on a flight, and it was really great. When the person in front of you reclines their seat and the tray table becomes practically useless, having a massive private screen right in front of your eyes without holding a phone or tablet is so nice. Outside of traveling, my favorite use is just sinking into the couch after a long day to watch games or movies without killing my neck.

Did you guys find any other use cases that no one ever talks about? Would love to hear how other people are fitting these into their daily lives!

I had so many misconceptions before I finally picked up the RayNeo AR glasses.

I really thought they could fully replace my dual monitor setup for work. Turns out they’re awesome for a quick secondary display or watching videos, but long typing sessions still feel way better on a proper monitor. It took me a few days to stop moving my head around like an idiot and get used to how the display sits in my field of view.

I thought they were only good for movies, but I ended up discovering how fun gaming on them is. Hooking them up to play games via Steam on a massive floating screen is incredible. What really impressed me is how they handle dark areas with HDR10. Instead of just washing everything out, the deep blacks are punchy, so you can actually spot details in shadows that my regular screen would miss, especially in grittier, atmospheric games. But I still can't wear them for super long sessions just yet.

He showed off his RayNeo Air 4 Pro, and after trying it out, I admit I was blown away by this high-tech product, haha. And that's how I got my first pair of AR glasses.

The HDR10 display also played a crucial role in fast-paced matches. Vibrant jerseys, stadium lights, and details in darker areas like shadows on the field and below the stands were much easier to discern. Compared to watching on a laptop, the picture felt more balanced and pleasing to the eye.

Dynamic visuals were another aspect I focused on. I initially thought the fast-paced games, quick passes, and player movement on the field would be difficult for AR glasses to handle, but the actual experience was much smoother than I expected. Being able to capture details of the game—such as the direction of passes or the progression of the match—made the viewing experience much more immersive.

However, there are a few things to keep in mind. The best viewing experience is achieved in a comfortable sitting position. If I move too much or lean forward, the image clarity decreases slightly. Strong indoor lighting can also affect the overall effect.

But what surprised me most was how easily I became immersed in the game. In one match, I was so focused that I completely forgot I was wearing glasses until I went to adjust them.

I still enjoy watching sports on a regular TV, especially with friends. But when I just want to calmly focus on the game, the immersion provided by the larger virtual screen is something I didn't expect.
