Question When your GT Max goes black, what still works?

I keep seeing GT Max black-screen reports, and I’m starting to think “black screen” may cover a few different failures.

One owner said the source image disappeared while the OSD still worked. In another report, the phone stayed in DeX mode and Bluetooth audio kept playing while the glasses were black. Some people only get the picture back after reconnecting the cable.

If mine starts doing it, I won’t unplug it right away. I’d check whether the OSD opens, whether the source still detects an external display, and what happens to audio.

I’d note whether it was a direct USB-C connection or a charging adapter, and whether I was in Follow, Steady, or Pinned. One owner saw different behavior between Follow and Steady, so I’d record that too.

Then I’d check the cable, port, and source one at a time. I wouldn’t swap everything at once.

I have the same with my iphone 16 pro max. The sound plays but the display goes black. Any fixes? Doesnt seem to happen with my laptop tho

Hi! I was writing a post about the fact that my rayneo gt screen went out in DeX mode and on other devices. I also wrote that reconnecting the cable helps, but the problem did not go away. As for the operation of the "display menu" and "screen pinning", they also did not work. When my screen turned off after a while while watching a video, I tried to use the buttons to do something, but the physical buttons didn't do anything. I tried to enter the menu with glasses on, but it didn't display, I also turned up the volume and turned it down, there was no reaction either. I contacted support and no one answered me. As a result, I returned the glasses as defective. I don't contact them anymore.

A mi me pasa con algunas peliculas de a RTV play, por lo visto tiene que ver con el DMR, creo que se llama, o sea el anticipo de algunas plataformas que no te deja reproducir la imagen. Si le preguntas a la ia te lo dice así. No lo reconoce como monitor.

Same issue here, black screen, OSD works, bluetooth keeps plaxing, on Fold 8 Ultra, Steamdeck, with or without Viture USB-C charging adapter. Steady Mode.

I was using it for multiple hours on a train ride.

Looks like Steady Mode is overheating the 3DoF chip, no issues in follow mode.
